Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this as a switcher for multiple webcams? It's a little like a live newscast. ?

Yes! OBS (and possibly other live video programs) can be set up as a switcher because you can assign keys to toggle between different scenes and sources. We use it for Facebook live streaming and it's fantastic!

Is it possible to use standard keyboard commands or run other programs with this?

The rest of the answers are either completely false or out of date. Multiactions can be created by using the streamdeck. As a result, you can create a macro to open the run window using Win R. After that, you can add a text action and a keyboard enter macro to run the program or perform other advanced tasks. Key press macros with up to two keys are supported by default in the streamdeck. EX: ctrl z, as well as the ability to launch other applications br>br>However, the streamdeck has a small marketplace where you can buy community-made addons that give you even more power. For example, there is a community addon for more advanced macros that require the simultaneous pressing of three keys. There's also a community application launcher that gives you more advanced control over app launch and lets you pass startup options.

Is there a separate power cord required, or can it be powered via USB?

The USB cord is used to power the Stream Deck; no other cords are required.

For streaming, this is fantastic
5/5

I've got to say, I'm a big fan of this. I read the majority of the reviews here on Amazon before placing my order and I can say that 95% of the complaints in other reviews are unjustified. br>br>Other people's complaints:
- USB Cable (Short/Fixed): This one is beyond me. Every wired keyboard and mouse I've ever owned had the same length fixed cable. Your mouse and keyboard will not work if it does not work for you. br>- When you push buttons on the LCD, it "ripples": Try not to press buttons with the force of a 200-pound gorilla. Mine doesn't ripple unless I put a lot of effort into it.
- MYSOFTWARE doesn't have any built-in features: This is the one that irritates me the most. It's made for software that streams video. Its name is literally STREAM. Having said that, you can create as many custom key binds as you want, including custom images for the keys. They perform admirably. I've got mine doing a dozen things that OBS, Photoshop, and a few other programs don't support technically.
- It has a low-cost/low-quality feel to it: It's unclear to me which planet these people inhabit. This thing is extremely well constructed. br>- When I push buttons, there's a long delay! Streaming on a potato should be avoided if at all possible. My version is fantastic. The users are to blame for any delays. (slow computer/too much BS running in the background)br>- It's way too expensive! You haven't looked at comparable products if you think this is overpriced. Programmable keypads with similar functions (but no LCD) cost the same as or more. br>- There is only one LCD; each key does not have its own display! What difference does it make anyway? It serves its purpose while also looking great. My Complaints: br>br>
- There are only a few native OBS options. It would have been nice to have features like mute mic built-in, but this is easily overcomeable with custom key binds.
- On display at all times. It should be able to detect when the computer's display turns off due to inactivity and perform the same action. (or, in either case, turn off when the computer is locked)br>br>TLDR: This is fantastic. It's great for streaming and can also be used as a general productivity aid. I haven't had any regrets about ordering mine, and I doubt anyone else will.

Works in- game with a unique key- binds in the same way that it does on the desktop LOVE IT
5/5

I've had the Stream Deck for five days now. I have to say that this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm not a streamer, but I am an IT professional who also enjoys gaming. I'm always looking for new ways to interact with my computer that don't require me to minimize my game. The games I play have a lot of key binds, and I listen to a lot of audio while playing, so being able to control these things without having to minimize your game is fantastic. br>br>First and foremost, I'd like to state that I'm using Windows 10 and it's fantastic. If you can't get the Stream Deck to run key combos while you're in game, you'll need to run the Stream Deck engine as administrator, which is only necessary if your video game or other app is running as administrator. Any game or app that isn't running as an administrator can be used without this setting. br>br>Installation is simple and straightforward; the USB cable is fixed to the device, which is annoying, but I've been able to get it to work with a USB extension cable and it's fine. br>br>Getting custom key icons is a breeze; I simply go to Google and type in whatever I'm looking for, such as "Razer Logo," and download the one that looks like what I want and assign it to the key, making it much easier to learn br>br>When pressing buttons, the device is responsive and has no lag. You can create "folders," which are buttons that open up a new set of options; think of it like a folder on your phone for a collection of apps. This is a fantastic feature, and I didn't expect it to work this way, but it does. Some may be disappointed that it will only allow folders on the top level, but this is likely necessary because creating a folder structure that is three or four layers deep would either slow down the device or cause it to stop working entirely. br>br>I think the device's size is about right; the buttons aren't too small to require too much concentration to press them, and they're not too big to be obnoxious. This was made to be very user-friendly. You can also adjust the brightness and darkness of the buttons to suit your needs. This is convenient because it prevents the light from shining directly into my eyes while I'm gaming late at night. br>br>However, I do wish there was more functionality for things that aren't related to streaming. I'd like to see more multi-press or even macro support, similar to what you'd find in a proper mouse or keyboard driver. I'd also like to see a way to create multiple profiles, such as one for work and another for gaming, as this would greatly expand the device's capabilities. After this, I'm going to write the company and inform them of these requests, because I truly believe that this type of device is the way of the future for input. People are looking for new ways to simplify their computer use or add functionality, and this device is it; the fact that the keys are OLED screens with illuminated custom icons really makes this device sing. It wouldn't work if it were like its competitors, which require making tiny paper cutouts and then backlighting the paper. br>br>Anyone looking for custom key inputs for their computers, games, or simulators should consider this device. This will be used as a replacement button box in my iRacing simulator, and I've already told about ten people about it, all of whom are interested in purchasing one. Even though it's the first version, with only key press assignments or launching apps/websites, it's enough to get started, and I'm excited to see what they come up with in the future. If anything changes, I will make a new review.

Favorite websites, etc
5/5

are all well worth the money. The Elgato Stream Deck is exactly what you'd expect from a 20-year-old deck. in the future One of these, in my opinion, can help everyone. You have access to everything from your computer I. I keep experimenting with different configurations and it handles anything I come up with. Netflix, social media, multimedia, photoshop, favorite websites, and so on. It's simple to set up and use. The keys are a little bigger than the ones on your keyboard. They can be tailored to your preferences. Using the Elgato software and Photoshop, you can add domain icons, photos, and even make your own. When activated, they have a mechanical feel without making any noise, and the Stream Deck is easy to transport. I can see someone who travels to give a presentation or lecture carrying it with them at all times. The Stream Deck could be used by salespeople, marketers, stockbrokers, and other professionals. I'm veering off topic here, but I wanted to point out that it's capable of much more than just streaming and recording game play. For a demonstration, please go to rlgehlen's Twitch channel. I'm usually online in the evenings, but I could check in for a few minutes. All you have to do now is respond to the feedback. The Stream Deck is going to be a lot of fun for you.
