There was no way I could use this cable anymore so I replaced it all. Inner wires and the outer layer are fine, but the inner layer and wires are not great. The cable didn't work for any of the POE cameras I used it with.
Using this service was a complete waste of time and In tests, I was never able to get 1Gig speeds out of it over several 20ft runs. When I swapped cables with another brand, I got 1Gig on the device.
If you can get away with 100mbps, you can use this cable. Be aware that you will not get what you pay.
Researching CAT5 cables took quite a bit of time for me. Our findings were that the lower cost ones were actually aluminum wiring with a copper outer coat. Due to the fact that they are much easier to break, this matter. The copper in this one is 100%. Another cable already ran inside the conduit after I pulled the cable through by 300 feet. In addition, there are about 8 90 Bends of greater than 90 degrees. This took a lot of effort, especially when it came to the last few feet. I was able to hook it up to my security camera successfully. It seems to be a very good product. Then add this You can totally rely on it to keep you dry.
This cable can be pulled through conduit with ease. An imprint of the jacket's length appears on the back. This is used for cameras around a We did not need lubricant to pull 3 cables in 3/4 inch pvc conduit with two 90 degree sweeps (no lubricant needed).
I use it a lot. Having used three reels of this particular brand, I have found it to be as good as it gets for almost all applications where a shield or drain wire is not necessary. The moisture blocking is a dry tape type. Cheaper than a lot of other things. We will use it more in the future.
It is not copper clad aluminum either. That was a mistake I made in the past. You will get better quality copper if you pay more.
I would advise you to NOT buy this Our cameras have been placed outdoors for the last two years, so we have bought a lot of this cable. We haven't done anything but replace every last foot of truecable for the past six months. It does not appear to have any obvious breaks, bends, or cuts on it In every single run we've installed, the cameras are failing because of high attenuation with enough time before they are taken offline. And this isn't happening with just one reel. Some are failing after 6 months, others THIS CABLE IS TO BE AVOIDED.
The item was purchased in order to make data and power looms. The wires have been in use for a couple of years and have stood up to repeated coiling and uncoiling. There are times when they are walked on and they get wet and dirty. Their cold weather is no match for the heat of the sun. So far, I have not encountered any problems and we are also able to get gigabit speeds. They are well-made cable spools that I need to buy in larger quantities.
