This cleaner cleans my TASCAM D/A converter Countdown to 30 is on!
I am so grateful that these are still available. I run for 10 seconds, and the machine then tracks fine for hours. DAT machines (which sound noticeable warmer than most CD players and way, way better than lossy formats like MP3 and WAV) generally require regular cleaning. Should these tasks ever cease to be attainable, it would spell end to the DAT machines of the world. Don't let them stop making them! Invest in them now so they can continue producing them! We have to keep up the demand!.

I found it to be the best I has ever seen. As part of our project, we intend to transfer hundreds of ancient DAT tapes using a Sony DDS drive as well as releasing them for public viewing On an old Windows XP computer there is still software available for cleaning the hard drive. Every ten hours it needs to be cleaned. A tape is pushed into the drive, and once it is ejected, the drive is happy. We have bought three, in case we need more, we will probably purchase a few more.
These cleaning tapes are quite reasonable priced, and they just The Tascam DA-102 is the recording device I use A clogged head had caused the P1 DAT recorder to cease working. When using one of these cleaning tapes, after 30 seconds, all of the dirt and debris are removed and it works perfectly again.
Is DAT tape still used by people? Although we still use these for backups of the phone system, we tend to use the cleaning tapes more as the drives age. It seems to work well with these.
This is a great product at a reasonable price.
