Why would I want to backup to tape when a 1TB sata hard drive costs only a third of the price of tape?

As a result, you can easily transport your backup in a cartridge offsite. For this, I'm not a big fan of cloud computing. I'd like complete control over my backups, as well as portability. Keeping the backup on-site poses a risk in the event of a fire or other disaster.

Is it possible to write on this tape again? Which backup device is compatible with this tape, and could you please provide an Amazon link?

Yes, instead of tape, it's a removable hard drive. To use this cartridge, you must have an RDX drive.
