Questions & Answers

Could these speakers still be controlled by the computer if I hook them up via USB or must I turn the knob on the back of the speaker to control the volume?

Both of the speakers can be controlled by their volume buttons on the back as well as through the computer via USB.

It's not that I don't like these speakers rather, I have a DAC already ?

A good option would be to look into the Audioengine A2 original version if you have an existing DAC. The differences between A2 and A2+ are as follows The USB digital camera is a digital camera with a USB link

What do you prefer, these or the Bose Companion III? How are you?

There are these. There are two Bose Companion 3's in my possession. Seeing how the power cable and speaker cable look the same, it's easy to mix them up when moving the speakers and reconnecting the cables, which is what I did. So now I only have audio coming from one speaker after this damaged my cable. It's really hard and near impossible to replace the cable since it's not standard. I recommend this model because it uses standard cables and the audio quality is most likely better.

Are you able to power a sub woofer with the output of an audio speaker? Does the sub I want to power have a RMS rating of 50 watts?

There are a couple of things I don't understand about the question When he says that the sub is 50 watts, doesn't that mean that it's As a result, I am certain that it can be used with the A2. Despite the fact that I don't have a job My A2 is connected to my iMac via the 1/8" stereo jack on the back of the A2's back using the AE sub attached to the binding posts on the back of the 'hot' speaker. You can adjust the balance between the A2 and the sub by adjusting the independent gain control of the sub or the A2's. Finally, you can adjust the overall system volume by using the volume control of the computer. I found this to work very well. In the past I thought about switching to a digital audio connection from my Mac. However, I didn't feel that it was necessary to bring another USB interface onto my computer since this isn't my main listening environment. There is one aspect of this setup that is lacking low-power capability I. Cutoff at end of month (i.e. ). This is a highpass filter for the A2. It's important to keep in mind that you're not removing the potentially overpowering bass signal from the A2s even if you have a sub connected.

This little pair of speakers look and sound great
3/5

They have cheap internals and are aesthetically pleasing. These computer speakers have a nice small size that makes them ideal for computers. Nonetheless, I have been experiencing scratchy, intermittent sound from my left speaker from day one. There was a time when tapping it made the problem go away. As I checked the cables and connections, I decided to open it up and see if there was anything I could There seemed to be a lot of cheap components on the main board. Despite its dusty appearance, it felt sticky and had a sticky feeling. It was difficult to solder together many of the joints. The majority of them were white and crystalline in appearance. Please note that I am reiterating A soldering iron was used to connect all major connections. In the main IC amplifier chip, there were two pins that did not appear to be There has been little change in these speakers' environments, which are dry, clean, protected and climate controlled. Now it seems to be working, but you shouldn't have had to resort to so much trouble.

The item is extremely decent, but I'm not blown away by its cost
4/5

I think the product needs strong stands for the directional adjustment of the horizon to the sky. You should close the use of this page. The pros include The construction is very high quality the design is very versatile The ability for sub or additional devices to communicate with multiple quality inputs and outputs The preamp has a built-in volume control or it can be controlled internally or externally An adjustable stand mount adapter with threaded mounting holes This is an excellent product in terms of size and cost for The cons are Based on the glowing reviews and listings around the web as a top choice for the price At the time of writing, the price is $200 That's what it comes down to). Although there are several positive aspects that should be considered Although all cables were included, I had to replace the satellite speaker wire because it was far too short for me. Nothing to be concerned about. The following *br If you watch the prices carefully and are able to get these for less than $200, they seem to be a much better value (in my opinion). The fact is, I think MOST people will find these to be absolutely amazing, especially if compared to anything exceeding add them to any laptop or all-in-one (iMac, etc. ), you will be amazed at the vast improvements. One of the biggest problems If you sit close or intend to use them with a computer, the speakers will depend strongly on the direction they are pointed. Position them so that their pointed end is directly towards your ear You will definitely notice imbalance and lack of midrange impact if the speakers are pitched at your ears evenly - or else the earphones are pointing at you equally. Make yourself a favor by placing them as far apart from each other as you can, if you move frequently around your desk/office space and need to hear music You experience a rapid drop in quality after leaving this "sweet spot. ". In addition to the six LCD displays mounted on three vertical VESA mounts, I made an adapter from painted wood to make use of the 14" tripod/camera mount that was thoughtfully included on the bottom of the speaker to attach to Using the new feature, I can fast adjust the angle, pitch, and direction of each speaker so I can watch Netflix or do some fill-in on the go. Here is The- Here's the room In conjunction with While I am working, I listen to music. It is unlikely that most of you will have to use this method, but consider an affordable pair of adjustable speaker stands or a tripod/stand (tabletops are very cheap) to elevate your speakers and adjust the angle and pitch to achieve the best result. A very inexpensive threaded wall mount, such as the one pictured below, is also suitable for speaker stand accessory from AudioEngine *might* be able to help a lot of you to get the sound to your ears, however all it does is adjust the pitch to do so. You will not receive it if you are large or small. The sound is generally quite warm, with great midrange and highs and little appreciable distortion when playing lossless digital audio at high volume. As soon as you start playing heavily or badly compressed audio (MP3, AAC, etc, under 160kb) the sound starts to distort. These can be used for voice, as in podcasts or Skype, FaceTime, etc. The volume will be extremely loud There is a limit to how loud neighbors can hear. It is recommended that if you want quite a bit of bass for games, dance/trance/metal, either go for the 4" version, or add a It is a good idea to add this to a 3 if you intend to watch a lot of movies. One fifth. I am 7/1. With a soundbar or speaker as the center speaker, the 5. 1 output will be sufficient. Using the output of a second preamp, I am adding two sets of 1" tweeters as well as two extra subwoofers for a more advanced "surround" experience for films and music. Whenever I work on reference work, I rely only on the A2+ and am happy with its performance. It would be better if the 4" version was available, but I did not want to spend too much money or have a large enclosure. My main reason for choosing this product (after reviewing its sound quality reviews) was the fact that it has multiple inputs and outputs (3x) and RCA inputs (1x RCA). The fact that the volume knob is on the back is extremely irritating to many people However, I always set the input/output volume a few dB shy of full, since I never have to mess with it. I use a computer, preamp, or AirPortExpress WiFi input to control the in/output volume. It would be nice to have covers for the rear to hide the ugly connections for open-frame phones From the back or from the front A new facing desk is being installed. I recommend banana plug adapters with a right angle of 90 degrees. Unlike a wall outlet, the power adapter comes with an inline transformer, which, for most people, is not a big deal By doing so, a power transformer's heat is kept outside of the speaker enclosure, which I like. A lock button is built into the power input plug to prevent accidental disconnections This is a nice touch that reflects the price you pay. It would have been better if the bricks and enclosure were 2 inches apart It takes me 3 feet longer, but I'm an outlier when it comes to There is a tendency for the preamp enclosure to get quite warm to hot on the backplate Generally the thermal effects of these items should not be an issue for most people, but small rooms are more likely to become hot.

Be sure to manage your expectations while listening to these speakers, as they are decently large
3/5

Compared to their size, the A2+ is a decent speaker. However, you have to make sure you know what you're getting. The red color of these speakers looks very cool. In terms of highs and mids, the sound quality is excellent. Clearly separated instruments with crisp and clear audio. I like the sound of certain kinds of music, like acoustic guitar. After breaking these speakers in, however, there is definitely a lack of lows. Compared to music that makes heavy use of bass, it sounds nice, but if you listen to music with that, you will want A subwoofer would defeat the purpose of having small speakers since my living space is limited, but I don't have the money to spend on one. My final decision was to return the A2+ and to purchase the Vanatoo T0 instead. While they are about the same size if you use the A2+ with a stand, the audio quality is significantly better thanks to plenty of bass, blue tooth, optical input, The results are much better than I expected.

The speakers were bought as a replacement for the dead Bose Companion 5 headphones Honestly, we cannot believe the amazing quality, unlike Bose and at a fraction of the price! The word wa is short for water
5/5

As a result, my few year old Bose Companion 5 system recently passed away to the land of dead electric pixies, so I had to replace it. All the reviews I read, every comparison article, and every forum discussion I went on concluded that this set of Audioengine A2+ speakers is the very best For gaming, I wanted clear audio across a wide range of frequencies that would be able to accommodate both great sound quality when playing music at higher volumes (since I constantly have music playing at my workbench). Both of those boxes were checked a few times in this article. These speakers sound better than my old Bose system, and at a fraction of the cost! I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate the high quality of sound these speakers produce.

As a result of the price and other reviews, I was expecting more
3/5

The only way I could find reviews for these speakers online was to read many of them After buying them and listening to them, I was convinced that the only way to truly know whether they were "it" was to buy them and pay attention Some reviewers have commented that while the sound is great, it is quite directional, and to listen to them off axis would lead to subpar sound I also bought the little rubber stands to make sure I got optimal results. The thing I like about these speakers is that they look nice, they're the right size, and because they have the rubber wedge stands, they're up right in front of me. As compared to the Creative T20, high frequencies are muffled a bit more. I noticed that the midrange is full but the bass response is not very strong. Since they're small speakers, I can appreciate what they're like. I still have a pair of smaller speakers with better frequency range (JBL Flip 4, for instance). It would be like listening to my laptop speakers or my mobile phone louder - but the A2s don't do that. It was absolutely not what I thought I was going to get As far as I can tell, these speakers are not as good as they appeared on Amazon because of the hype. There is a better sound and 1/3 the price with the Creative T20 speakers At least there's a hint of bass in these tracks, but they're not bass-driven. They were great desktop speakers, but the left speaker stopped working after a few years, and they are now unobtainable - I would recommend them to anyone looking for good speakers - As for the A2, I thought I had found a suitable replacement, but that just isn't the case. This will be returned to the store and I shall begin my search for decent desktop speakers again.
