How does it work with Spectrum modems?

I was able to connect to the broadband internet with the router when I first got it, but a year later, it stopped working. As a result of my research, I discovered that when the Nighthawk updates, the modem becomes too sophisticated. ... In my conversations with Spectrum's representative, I learned that instead of dummying down my Nighthawk, ... When I first got the router, it worked perfectly with the Spectrum modem, but a year ago I lost my broadband access. I am researching and I discovered that when the Nighthawk updates, the modem becomes too sophisticated. According to the Spectrum representative, I think upgrading my modem will be more beneficial than dumbing down my Nighthawk.

Describe how the 2nd went. Has this router been able to offer you a better range of 4 GHz than the router you had before? Have you had any connection problems?

In addition to this router, I also had the intention of replacing my Netgear WNDR3700v2. Through an application on my tablet, I was able to compare the strength of 2 specimens. There are two routers at different corners of my house sending an identical 4 GHz signal. We are not encouraged by the results. In terms of WiFi signal strength, my tablet experienced a similar experience both routes....I installed this router alongside my Netgear WNDR3700v2, which I planned to replace with this one. Through an application on my tablet, I was able to compare the strength of 2 specimens. There are two routers at different corners of my house sending an identical 4 GHz signal. We are not encouraged by the results. I was able to receive WiFi signal of approximately the same strength from both routers on my tablet. Although I can get a signal in all corners of my house, the speed is disappointing in the far corners.

The number of wireless devices it can support is: How many?

You can throw as many at it as you want! On it I have a pad, television, laptop, desktop, two phones, and two printers with no trouble.

MAC addresses can be cloned, but how do you do it?

Cloning, I think, adds your Mac address to more than one device. I purchased a router that separates all devices into subgroups without naming each one like old routers did.

The specifications on Amazon are not to be trusted
3/5

The modules are for the R6700 not the V2 They are shipping the R6700v2 The fact of the matter is, this is an extremely capable router that will be convenient for most The router will provide incredible speeds and will be a great upgrade for those with older routers that aren't able to keep up with the increasing speeds provided by internet service providers today Despite dramatically changing the internal components (R6700), Netgear continues to sell it as the same That being said, Amazon has a product alert for or v2 of the R6700 Apparently, the R6700v2 does not meet some of the specifications shown here (in particular the CPU speed is different) am aware because after receiving a router that was incompatible, they offered to replace it and post the first router (the one with the higher clock speed as indicated on the description) and ended up sending me the same thing again For anyone who does not need a router to be flashed with custom software or to use other advanced functions a router has to offer, I see no problem in this The problem is that the people who know the hardware and know what to expect find this hard to understand Make sure you check reviews from several sources before making your final decision Hopefully, this will help you make your decision about the V2 you will receive I hope it helps you!

After seven weeks, the project failed

A review of the Netgear R7000P ac2300 router is presented here It was bought out of my own pocket-I did not receive any compensation Almost two months ago, I upgraded my home network to gigabit speed from the old 100mb Based on my research, this R7000P seemed to be the best compromise between cost and functionality The renovation of my son's home was also agreed on by him After he bought it, I bought mine soon after in mid March 2018 The router had excellent reviews, so I bought mine soon after The installation was easy, and once I checked that it worked, I plugged it in It took me no time at all to set up The devices on my home LAN are a mix of wireless and ethernet-two computers, a printer, five NAS devices connected via switches, and a few phones All ports are connected at 1000mbps, including the Ethernet ports The week has gone by in a flash The LED status indicators on the LAN ports had changed from white to amber when I checked the router one May morning A switch had been made to 100mbps for the ports No good can come from this The wireless part of the router still runs as fast as ever at 39MBps, which was surprising It was barely possible to reach 6MBps using the ethernet port My love of electronics led me to do all the normal things one does to show it The computer has been rebooted, power cycled, reset to factory specs, flashed with new firmware, directly connected to the modem (to verify that the modem was not faulty in some way), and to each LAN port through brand new Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables As a last resort, I even yelled at it in hope of intimidating it The joy is not there Speed tests and router management software showed that the ethernet ports were less than 100 Mbps, not even close to 1000 Mbps I was not happy with the phone support Because it is beyond 30 days, I cannot return it to Amazon If I have to spend hours in the support system trying to figure out how to do all the troubleshooting I have already completed, I might eventually be able to exchange it Both shipping and wait a week or three without a network are paid for by me In precisely the same manner as mine went wonky, my son's failed about a week later His was bought at Walmart, and he returned it and got a brand new ASUS in no time I am using cripple mode on the most expensive router I have ever owned Later I'll buy other items when I'm able to afford them Netgear is not involved I learned that 21,500+ reviews do not necessarily mean the router is good With a filter switch near the review stars, you can see only verified purchasers of this particular router-thus the number of reviews is much smaller The R7000P is not the Lone Ranger-others have experienced similar problems All of which is a long-winded way of explaining how it only managed to earn a one-star review
