Mine gets hot, too, but I've had no problems or problems with it thus far. It gets warm, but it appears to function normally.
Hi, the USB C to Ethernet Adapte does not require any software installation, but you will need to install an additional driver if your laptop runs Windows 7 or lower.
Yes, it is compatible with a Macbook Air M1 model.
We have three DELL Laptops 2021 that we use these on. A 17-inch Dell Inspiron laptop is one of them. None of them have an Ethernet port, but they all have a USB port, so it works fine. To use this device, you'll need to plug it into a C port.

Even though my iPad's wireless WiFi is only capable of about 250 gigabits per second up and down, when I connect with this device, I get hard-wired speeds of over 900 gigabits per second up and down. When you need that kind of speed and connection, it's just nice to have it. My niece, on the other hand, watches a lot of movies on Hulu, Netflix, and other streaming services, and she loves it. It is definitely worth it in many ways, especially if you are working from home these days via Zoom or some other platform, and she mentioned that using this device makes for VERY smooth watching and that she does not experience the occasional "buffing" problems when using this device. It is definitely worth it in many ways, especially if you are working from home these days via Zoom or some other platform. The speed and stability of the connection are fantastic. Wireless is far less reliable and consistent. Using my iPad wirelessly is great, but the speed and connection reliability with this device are incredible.
It can be difficult to find an adapter for the MacBook Pro, and many of them fail. (unsupported chipset) The adapter did not work the first time I plugged it in. I opened the Network Control Panel and plugged it back in, and it came back up and established a wired connection to the router immediately. After that, it was simply a matter of plugging and playing. The new MacBook Pro is available now. I had an older adapter that Apple no longer supported. This one took its place, and it appears to be compatible with both new software and the MacBook Pro. Check the control panel for any problems and make sure the connector is fully inserted into the computer. I haven't performed a speed test, but browsing and other activities seem to run smoothly.
This is a fantastic device for the money, and my testing revealed that it operates at full speed. However, it becomes extremely hot. This is not a device I would want to rely on or use on a regular basis; my use case is really only once in a while when I need full speed for a short period of time, and I'm not sure how durable it will be at this point. That is really my only criticism of this device; if you want something to use full-time, you should look elsewhere.
Based on the Realtek RTL8153 (as do many other Mac compatible Ethernet devices)br>Did not require the installation of a driver for the Intel MacBook Pro 2020 on 11. 3br>It also worked (without the need to download any additional drivers? On the same hardware, I'm running Windows 10 Pro 20H2v2.
Connector for Ethernet 45; WiFi is required. In the room where it is primarily used, the WiFi signal is very weak. There is, however, a wired Ethernet port. This enables me to connect to the internet at lightning speed on my brand new laptop. br>br>Strongly Recommend!.
This does not work with a 2016 MacBook Pro, despite what the product description claims. My Mac is completely unaware of its existence, and I've tried it on a variety of ports. My work Win10 laptop recognizes it just fine, so I know it's not a problem with the LAN or the adapter. When plugged into a USB port, it gets warm. C (including my MacBook), which is alarming because it isn't doing anything.
The signal on the built-in wifi in the 2019 Macbook Pro was intermittent. New router, no change, switched to ethernet solution because Apple won't give you ethernet but will sell it to you at a premium OR you can buy this solution and be done with it. I've purchased a number of JSAUX items and have never been disappointed. This product, as well as the other JSAUX solutions, comes highly recommended.
Instead of using flaky wifi, I needed a way to connect my laptop to a hard line cat 6 network. As far as wireless technology is concerned, There is no substitute for a hard wire connection. This adapter enables me to connect my laptop to the internet while disabling wifi to achieve optimal speeds. With this adapter, I'm getting a solid 978 Mbps over my gigabit network. My AX router's sluggish wifi will see you later.
