Questions & Answers

If I am unable to find drivers for this device after connecting it to a USB port, where can I look for them?

You need the ANKER Realtek USB GBE Family Controller version 3.0.0. The 2015 version of the Anker website is available for download.

Do you think this adapter can work as an external Ethernet port if I have no ethernet port on my laptop?

In addition to that, it offers three USB

It gets very hot when I use the adapter. Is this normal, or is there a problem?

In addition to getting hot, my device also gets hot. With it, I am able to speed up our Android TV's internet connection. I find it quite effective. The device gets quite hot, however, which is a bit of a concern. The fact that this is happening to me does cause me to wonder whether this is somehow typical.

The Xiaomi Mi Box is compatible with this device?

As far as I can tell, it is only compatible with Windows 10 and 7. Android is not on my list of devices to test. If the USB extension is fine then the Android should emulate Ethernet, but I have no idea if that works.

My wife bought me an ethernet/USB adapter called "TECKNET Aluminum 3-Port Ethernet Adapter" that works okay, but not as well as another brand
4/5

The USB 3 port can be found here. A few weeks ago, I purchased "The Hub with the RJ45 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. Having been able to use that one comfortably, I bought another one to use on another computer as we have switched all of our devices in the house to ethernet to prevent WiFi issues. I had actually bought another one, but it was supposed to arrive almost a week after I purchased it, so I bought the one here, thinking it would be the same. I regret to say that it is It took me a reboot to get my computer working again). I have a few minor things to add A generic model comes in an unbranded box, so it's easy to understand that it's simply a generic model sold by many sellers, there is no label next to any of the ports, and it's a different item than what's shown in the picture. I gave it a 4 star rating since it works still, but I would definitely recommend the other model There is no harm in spending an extra two.

I'm glad you like it! It's not possible for me to connect my laptop to an Ethernet port since I teach online
5/5

The WiFi was my main source of connectivity, but it never worked well enough for me. Adapters were a bit of a mystery to me initially because it is so beyond my comprehension how they work. I decided to give it a try after hearing another online teacher say she uses an adapter and it works perfectly. Also, I needed more USB outlets, and this little device fits the bill perfectly! The connection I have to the internet is excellent. It is definitely worth trying out.

THE ITEM IS OF HIGH QUALITY AND ADAPTABLE TO FLEXIBLE OPERATING SYSTEMS
5/5

What a great idea! I have only seen one PRO so far. I can use it on my very old, small laptop that we are using for our kids to watch their internet based shows on our old tv.
2. The operating system at our company is Linux, so I was initially concerned about plug/play The play compatibility feature is enabled by default. In case of problems, the company sent me an email shortly after I received it with links to drivers. My company responded promptly with a link for a Linux driver once it was informed that I was using Linux and what version it was. Honestly, the links never served any purpose for me. All that was required was a plug and play device. There is currently a Bluetooth dongle on one of the USB slots, and we have it wired to the old laptop for watching. The extra USB ports makes it convenient, even though it's $1+ more expensive than the cheapest wire to USB alternative I could find. Perhaps I'll get one for the laptop that my SOs uses since it does not have a network port.

Ports on a USB stick work RJ45 ports would more or less work as dialup connections
4/5

A recent update on the situation As a result of leaving this feedback, I received a call from the company and they sent me a replacement right away. In any event, I would have been willing to try another one just to be sure there wasn't some anomaly or other issue I hadn't been able to uncover. When I received this new one, it was identical to the old one, so I plugged it in and, no surprise, nothing changed. As a powerlifter, I can pull up to 90 lbs down and solid up to a high 30s or low 40s. As I was wondering what could be the reason, I thought the switch might have something to do with it? In the end, I was able to pinpoint the issue only after doing some recon work. I DO NOT think the adapter was the problem The switch made all the difference. It is for some reason that my unmanaged GS316 switch transported data at a speed of 100mbps. It is here where I have a problem to solve, now that I've kept my cool. However, apart from the device getting hot, there is no problem with it working as it is intended to work. It's quite difficult to find something negative to say about my life. It would not have come to my attention if it wasn't for the replacement. Therefore, thanks a lot to the company for the replacement and I will use it as instructed. The adapter IS a plug n play unit, which means it does work. My brain is blank and I have no idea what I need to do at this moment. The RJ45 port, using Cat6A cables, is exceptionally slow with the RJ45 port running for a few more days. I can return to the lab if no suggestions are offered on how to resolve this situation. The device does heat up as it is reported to, but I do not find that to be a problem. are well designed, and provide a good level of functionality for USB devices. However, no lights were included (I knew this, but it should be so standard that I can't imagine why it wasn't included), and the Wired Internet connection is very My macbook pro works great with another USB ethernet adapter and I get speeds similar to what I was hoping for (960mbps down vs 50mbps up), but with this one, I am lucky to achieve 50mbps. Through my wireless connection, I can pull about 500-600 pages per day I am getting a downstream speed of 700mbps, but I am not getting the pull data that I should be able to get. This is a really decent little device, but I am really unimpressed at the moment. It does work, but the main reason I bought it was to get GIG speeds, and seeing as I am getting about four GIG per hour, it makes sense. If that is the case with 5% of them, it will likely go It is with regret that I must inform you.

Does what it is supposed to
4/5

This USB hub works well with my network adapter. I am able to plug and play it into my Macbook Pro (late 2013) model. Although my internet connection is 600Mbps, the wireless didn't seem to match up to that speed. It's probable that I would only get 150mbps at the greatest due to an older piece of equipment. My internet speed is 715 mbps constantly with this adapter, and webpages load much faster than before. In addition to the year warranty, I appreciate the seller's efforts in doing so. As a result, the adapter reaches a temperature of 101 degrees. There is a difference of 6 degrees from a regular thermometer, but it still works.

The Ethernet port in the computer is You can connect USB devices to the following I don't know so much about that
4/5

Currently, my wifi signal is too weak, causing me to be disconnected from the internet often, so I purchased this adapter to be connected to the router via an Ethernet cable to ensure a better signal.

PROS A hub such as this is ideal for every laptop that does not have an ethernet port. Using it on my Macbook, there was no driver needed. It was my fear that this adapter would slow down my bandwidth, but that has been proven wrong (Externally connected via Ethernet) The internet speed is the same as the other computer. The metal case is made of
It works with USB 2 and 3
I also tried using it OTG to connect to my smartphone and it worked
It does get hot, but I found it not to be an issue

CONS A few hints for a better job search. . . The interface on this adapter is not suitable for daily use in my opinion I performed some speed tests, and the HDDs directly connected to it transferred data at a lower speed than when they were directly connected* 2- My laptop screen is too small, and the cable is too short for me to completely wrap it behind the screen. > However, I bought this adapter for the ethernet port, and I am pleased with it.
