I bought a new laptop that lacked an Ethernet port. I plugged in this adapter and wow! I got over 500Mbps on a USB Type C port with fiber optic service. I couldn't believe how well it worked. You can cover the small blinking light if you find it annoying, as it doesn't bother me. It works fine with my Windows 10 Pro without any problems. The simplest and most affordable way to hard wire a laptop is to use a USB-socket comes with a 2 year warranty, but I doubt I will have to use it. There is no way to predict the future.
