Questions & Answers

Does this device work with Comcast/Xfinity sensors for doors and windows?

Tests have shown that motion sensors work, and I can confirm that they do. In the event that you do not know how to set up the sensor yourself or cannot put it back into pairing mode, you may think this stick would not work, however I can confirm it works with the Visonic K9-M020. Plugs with 85 SMA (Motion) connectors. *br> *br>One issue everyday users might not be able to overcome is the software for controlling the plugs. For this, you can use this web UI. This is terrible. Nevertheless, there are other alternatives (IE Home assistant with DeConz plugin) but it's a hassle to set this up from As a result, switching over to Xfinity isn't an easy plug and play process. They've already built their own software/interface from the ground up, which I think is great. As their recent changes limited the ability to customize their system (for example, turning on the lights from 1 minute if a sensor trip is detected) pairing and setting up yourself gives you greater 'freedom,' so to speak, in choosing The raspberry pi can be used with this product

How well does this device work with the smart things water leak sensor (or any other water leak sensor)?

In addition, the water leak appears to be supported as it is uploaded to their list of supported sensors. However, I think that the Aqara sensor and button are doing a wonderful job based on price.

What is the difference between this and the Aqara M2 ?

Using the ConBee II USB gateway, you can connect many Zigbee devices of different vendors and have them talk to each other using a single USB connection.

The amount of bulbs I can connect with hue is there a limit?

The bulbs I use are xiaomi - about ten bulbs However, the product is similar to hue or Ikea, and users in forums have stated that they had 25 or more. It appears that the product supports up to 32 sensors (battery-operated) but should support up to 100. Lights that are powered (200 lights)

Home Assistant can be connected to zigbee devices via a zigbee network
4/5

I tried using a HUSBZB before the Conbee II I used Home Assistant to find devices, but I had no luck finding any. This is nothing other than a buggy, annoying My next device was a CC2531, which I used with Zigbee2MQTT. I used it to manage my zigbee network and it worked well, but the range for my devices was really bad despite using mostly repeaters. Adding devices required changing the configuration and restarting HASS, which was definitely not I ordered a Conbee II when it came back into stock to see if it would get rid of my Zigbee problems. The answer is yes! I believe they are mostly correct (for It is mostly stable on my network and my devices have good signals these days. It seems that two of my outlets (both Tradfri) drop off the network every day, but they also did that using Zigbee2mqtt as well, so I suspect that the outlets are more of a problem than Conbee itself. The purchase was a great success for me.

I am very satisfied with how Home Assistant works
5/5

With the help of a Raspberry Pi and Home Assistant, I was able to experiment with ZigBee home automation. The Samsung Smart Things motion, water, and window/door sensors, as well as the Aqara temperature/humidity sensors, all worked without issues. Make sure that this device is not plugged directly into the USB port, but rather on an extension cable. I was able to get it working perfectly after fixing that issue.

Wouldn't it be better if the software was accessible if it was a hardware/software package? As far as home automation goes, things are sort of coming to an end after there was a string of frustrations to get started
3/5

I also regret to inform you that I have a hard time remaining objective regarding this piece of hardware as an individual entity, and I will try my best. The pros include This is *br1. The design of the packaging is slick and elegant. The appearance of the website is very professional. The air of legitimacy it has. 1. I. 2. That sounds like a great product in theory, and hopefully it works the same way in practice. didn't get all the way there) but the idea behind it sounds incredible. 1. 2. 3. If you have a lot of programming and coding experience, it should be appealing In view of the documents I was able to find on their website, via GitHub, and in various communities, it seems to be a pretty powerful and capable I never got that far personally (again, I didn't get that far)

Cons This is *br1. The information on the web is either outdated, incomplete, or written for the "beginner" who is already at an intermediate or expert level of understanding, which is the case for most of the other DIY hardware I've personally tried A tutorial that provides a step-by-step explanation or tutorial starting at step 15 is available. Therefore, an individual who is interested in exploring something like this is forced to step backwards constantly because a previous step has been assumed, and you later learn it was not even a step, so you have to learn a completely unrelated technique in order to get past it. As you continue to learn that process, you discover a completely unrelated concept/process that was conceived in the first step backward. . . 1. I. 2. As someone who spent time researching the information on their site, I was expecting the information there to be useful and relevant, even though I knew it wouldn't be a turnkey solution from the beginning. I was so disappointed to find that the download for making it work isn't available, and then I was told, "Oh go the programing route, it'll be easy", which was a bit of a failure in customer service. 1. 2. 3. A little pricey for something you would keep in your desk drawer. A few conclusions This means that I will never be able to recoup the several hours I spent trying to get the software to actually work, which A lot of frustration is likely to ensue unless you have a significant programming background, or unless you get lucky and download and install the posted software in its downloadable or stated form. In the future, I may return to this review after I've forgotten my frustration and happen to come across a dusty PRICY USB dongle. From here on out, adieu.

Automate your home to the next level
5/5

I am so in love with this thing! The Home Assistant application is running under a virtual machine on an I spent hours researching this device and came up with a lot of recommendations for its potential to enable me to bring a lot of disparate branded devices together in a way that makes sense for It was a little tricky to set up the virtual machine via VirtualBox, but I am now up and running with ZHA after installing it in Home Assistant. The one piece of advice I can offer is that when you initially pair Zigbee devices, you do need to be fairly close. However, once you have paired the device and configured Home Assistant (or another platform), you can start to place the devices wherever you need them. Aqara zigbee products and Sengled zigbee products have been used, and I have not encountered any problems.

I'm sorry, but this is not going to work

- There is no support You should not purchase this product. As a result, I no longer have time to return the device within 30 days. I was also struggling with the devices that talked to the dongle and Home Assistant during those 30 days. It will be necessary to check all three items to find out why things do not work. In all my coding, testing, and debugging efforts, I had various degrees of success. Not a single stable thing to be found. Ultimately, I found over 100 complaints about this device on the Home Assistant forums. I also discovered that the manufacturer didn't respond to any of my requests for support, which is a huge disappointment to me since I have already invested significantly in Aqara solutions that utilize Zigbee technology. It is possible, if I can hack them (into talking to the GoControl dongle), that they will work. Thus far, I have lost nearly $500 on an investment just to turn on a.

Compared to HUSBZB- this is the best so far A single ZHA unit and a single CC2530 unit are used
5/5

We tried Nortek HUSBZB-M for more than six months before we ended up with it The experience has been very good in terms of how easy it is to register supported devices, and how easy it is to integrate the mimes in HASSIO, I will need to use it a bit more to give a more thorough rating and comment, but for the moment I am satisfied.
