This monitor is fantastic! So when I first got it (I've had it for 2 weeks), I used MY HDMI that I'd had for over a year, and the monitor was capped at 120hz, and I was irritated because I didn't understand why I couldn't get the FULL 165hz, until 2 weeks later, when I FINALLY realized that you MUST use the DP (Display Port) that the company provides in the packaging! So I plugged it in to my PC and was able to cap it at 165hz in my display settings, so a friendly reminder to USE THE DISPLAY PORT CABLE THAT THEY GAVE YOU BECAUSE A HDMI WILL NOT PROVIDE FULL SUPPORT. Also, if you overclock the monitor for me in terms of FPS or Hz, be aware that this can result in other issues such as blackouts and other issues.
I had problems right out of the box; I set it up and double-checked the settings, but I couldn't get more than 60hz no matter what I tried. I did a lot of research and tried updating every setting I could think of, but nothing worked. On the weekend, I sent a message to their Support team, and I received a quick response apologizing and promising that someone would contact me during business hours on Monday. Monday morning, around 7 a. m. , I received an email from them again, apologizing and stating that the issue could be resolved with their tech support; I'm impressed with their communication right away! br>br>I never called because after reading more comments, I realized I was having the same problem as another user, which was a display port cable issue. The darned thing couldn't be seated all the way in because the case was blocking it. I popped the cover up slightly and inserted the cable all the way, locking it, and the settings immediately showed that I could reach 165hz! br>br>Thus far, everything has gone well!.
This is a 165 Hz signal. I'm not sure how people who are aware of refresh rate variations are unable to simply Google "why is my 165hz monitor only getting 60hz?" Verify that your graphics card can handle it. This monitor will be ideal for my girlfriend's computer setup.
Because of the negative reviews I read, I was hesitant to purchase this monitor, but I decided to take a chance. I replaced my old Dell UHD monitor, which was 6 years old, with this one, and after a side-by-side comparison, I discovered that the picture quality on my old Dell was actually much better, which was a huge disappointment. However, in terms of performance, it's there; I can play games at 120 frames per second, which I couldn't do on my PS5, so that's nice. It took me a while to figure out how to use the menu buttons because they are very confusing and honestly piss poor. Because of the poor picture quality and poorly setup menu functions with no instructions, I'm giving this product a three-star rating. Do I recommend this product? I'd wait until it's improved or replaced.
In general, this is a good high-refresh-rate monitor for the money. It has a good set of features and a simple user interface. br>However, you get what you pay for, and I was aware of this when I purchased it, so my expectations were not unreasonable. The color accuracy is poor; everything appears to be washed out or blown out. br>The most serious problem is ghosting, which occurs frequently. When playing games, you won't notice much ghosting, especially if you use motion blur, and even if you don't use motion blur when playing games, you won't notice; however, when using Windows Explorer or a web browser for casual purposes, the ghosting becomes noticeable, especially when switching from a harsh dark to a white background, such as a white courser on a black background. br>I can't say I'm disappointed for the price.
So, due to a lack of desk space, this monitor sat unopened for months; otherwise, I would have returned it; however, after one of my monitors failed, I decided to open it and use it. It was the worst decision I've ever made, and it was quickly demoted to a secondary monitor. br>br>The color saturation is off, favoring highly saturated and bright colors on the CMYK scale rather than the RGB scale (reds, for example, appear more Magenta than Red), and the ghosting is appalling. I thought I bought this with the monitor's latency in mind, but when I go back to the page, all I see is the 165 frames per second and no mention of the latency. As a result, if you try to make a quick turn in a game, the image will ghost a dozen times, making you nauseated. br>br>This product is not at all recommended.
You must manually change the frequency to 144 hz, but most people who know how to use Google should have no trouble doing so. My first screen had a problem (lines running across it), but returning it and getting a replacement was simple and quick! It's a fantastic gaming screen for the money!.
This is what I'm using for retro gaming, and it looks and works fantastically. br>I bought this primarily for the price, as it is 1080p, 24" in size, VESA mountable, has aspect ratio control, and has two HDMI ports.
