I bought this monitor graphic design after doing a lot of research. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos. Nothing appeared to be in its place. As opposed to my old Apple Cinema 27" cinema display, which is what I really want! (I've tried two of them, and neither of them worked with my new MacBook Pro. ) The connection was unreliable, and the screen would black out from time to time. I got rid of them both and decided it was time to move on. ) This monitor was the only one I could stand from an aesthetic standpoint, but I was concerned because some of the reviews mentioned color issues. I had a budget of $500 in mind. Although the Dells are highly regarded, they are more expensive and less attractive. Now for my personal experience, as well as some of the issues I noticed in the reviews: 1) The stand has been described as flimsy by some reviewers. It isn't quite as good or as sturdy as the Mac stand, but it will suffice. There are no issues in this area. br>2) One reviewer complained that her screen was slightly tilted and that she couldn't get it straight. Mine was slightly skewed, but with a little muscle, I was able to straighten it out without difficulty. br>3) The font on the screen was much too big. I discovered a setting in the system preferences to make it smaller, and it now appears normal and crisp. br>4) A few people have commented that the colors are off; they are too bright and saturated, almost neon-like. This is something I have personally experienced. I fixed it by disabling the "High Dynamic Range" setting in the display preferences, as suggested by some reviewers. br>5) When I first plugged in the display, it was also a bit confusing. I was asked to select "ok" from a menu associated with the display (which was not controlled by my Mac). " I couldn't do this without my Mac's cursor. " That's when I noticed the monitor's important power and setting switches, which were hidden beneath the LG logo. The controls on this switch are a bit clumsy, but after about 15 minutes with it, I was able to figure out how to change the brightness and a few other options. br>6) Although this monitor has speakers, you are unable to control the sound from your Macbook Pro. Because I use this at home for work, I was annoyed when I tried to listen to a podcast and the sound came in too loudly through the display. There is a setting under the LG logo on the display that can be changed, but it's inconvenient. So I went into my Mac's system preferences and changed the setting back to MacBook Pro Speakers, and now the sound is coming through my MacBook, and I can adjust the volume easily. So, if you're like me and use it for work or design, you might as well save a few bucks and get the version without speakers. br>So the bottom line is that fiddling with settings took about an hour until I got a good-enough result. a picture that looks like it belongs on my MacBook Pro I just got the monitor today, so if I run into any problems, I'll update this review. (If I don't, it means I like the monitor and it's adequate for my needs as a graphic designer. ).

I called LG and they confirmed that the LG 27UN850-A is not the LG UltraFine. W 27 is not the UltraFine version of this item. The correct Ultra Fine item is 27UN880-, according to an LG customer service representative.

This monitor was purchased to give me more screen real estate while working from home during the COVID-related project. Pandemic number 19 has arrived. It's great to be able to have a Zoom or Teams meeting open while also having a document or browser window open and keeping an eye on my email without having to minimize or move windows around all the time. The image quality is excellent - br>br> extremely sharp and clear, with a natural-looking color palette Contrast is also excellent, though black levels are not as deep as they would be on a higher-end modern television or mobile device with an OLED panel. However, in a darker room at night, you only notice it. Because of the matte screen, I can set up my home office in front of a window without having to worry about glare. When working late, the night mode preset, which dims the brightness and shifts the whites to a warmer hue, is also useful. br>br>Video quality is excellent, though I'm still having trouble getting Netflix and Amazon to stream in 4K to the monitor. I'm running the most recent version of USB-C. c to make a late-arriving connection HP laptop model. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for troubleshooting. But, non- Content from sites like YouTube that is protected in 4K looks fantastic. However, this monitor does not have a high refresh rate by 2020 standards, so gamers and sports fans may be better off looking elsewhere. br>br>The br>br>The br>br>The two br> This monitor's adjustability makes it very comfortable to use for long periods of time. The stand is also surprisingly sturdy and looks more expensive in person than it does in pictures. I expected it to be made of plastic, but it's made of metal. As a result, when adjusting the screen, I don't have to worry about tipping the monitor off my desk. It's also incredibly easy to put together without the use of any tools or fiddling with a slew of tiny screws. br>br>Overall, this is a near-ideal monitor for working from home, and LG appears to have prioritized productivity over entertainment in its design choices, which is fantastic for me. It has a modern, minimalist design, which is nice because my "office" is also our family room, as opposed to many other options with overwrought styling intended to appeal to gamers. And, in my opinion, matte screens are MUCH more comfortable to read and write on than glossy screens. br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br>.

The box appeared to have been opened when it arrived, so it was not brand new. On November 28, 2020, for $449, the product was delivered quickly and on time. br>br>The box appears to have been opened; this item may have been returned by someone else previously. br>When I first opened the box, I noticed that the contents were not properly placed and sealed. br>There is no protective plastic covering on the monitor. br>There were two cables that were missing: the USB-A and the USB-C. C, as well as the DisplayPort cables, are required. br>br>The monitor itself appears to be of good quality, and I've had no problems connecting it to my MacBook Air thus far. br>The display text and images appear to be clear and attractive. br>br>However, I have a suspicion that this item is not brand new and has been returned previously. br>br>At the very least, I'm hoping they'll send me the two cables I'm missing, as well as offer me a discount on the opened box. br>br>As I use this product more, I'll add additional comments.
