It's so good to see you!! I just want to say that Keithdaily recently posted the clearest and best answer ever on Amazon! A permanent solution like the Bonnet could be better, but that doesn't seem to be ideal yet!
You can do that. There is a good thing about it! It is pass-through capable, meaning that your T490 will receive power if your power brick is connected directly to one of the displays. With this method, you can run both displays simultaneously on your laptop using USB-C while still receiving power from it. The external battery I was using worked without a hitch.
There is a Thunderbolt C cable that comes with the device. The data load for video may not be able to be handled by a regular USB C cable. Cables are fairly short and pretty stiff, but they work well for the most part.
Selected User Reviews For Lenovo ThinkVision M14 14" Full HD 1920x1080 IPS Monitor - 300 Nit 6ms 2xUSB Type-C Ports Widescreen Backlit LED LCD Mobile Portable Display Raven Black
The hardware is of very high quality, but the selection is disappointing. The manufacturer did not make any attempt to prepare the adapter so as to be more universal and compatible with all laptops with a mini hdmi port. The product should be clearly advertised as only compatible with thunderbolt type C.

The monitor compares favorably with others in the category of portable screens. As soon as I purchased the ASUS MB16AC I decided to purchase this display. The monitor was fine, but the stand and case were not up to my standards. In order to be portable, the monitor needs a stand that is robust and easy to configure on uneven surfaces. The ASUS monitor stand does not meet these requirements. issue with ASUS and other folio-style stands is that they do not enable continuous adjustment.
The Lenovo stand solves this. Weighing about the same as the case for the ASUS, it is not heavy. This stand gives it added stability and continuous adjustment just like a laptop would. This charger offers 45 watts of passthrough. If you're using a phone or are using a laptop with only one USB port, this will probably be enough. Additionally, it has ports on both sides of the display, and they are not flush with the display. A feature I didn't anticipate finding myself to be one of my favorite things about this monitor is that it fits flush with your laptop screen. ****In summary, the display panel is as good as you're going to get. In addition to being extremely lightweight and easy to use on a variety of surfaces, it can also be adjusted flush with your laptop panel. The polyester case/sleeve fits snugly around your laptop. Although I would like to have a more robust case, I do appreciate the durability provided by the case provided with this model. I have seen older models with slide-on plastic cases that are cracked from regular use. Occasionally I hear coil whine when using my Macbook Pro 13", but I have not found that too bothersome for me. In fact, I've used the Lenovo more than the ASUS in the first week.

As a complement to my 14" work laptop - an X1 Carbon 7th generation - I purchased this accessory. My experience with this monitor was great, and there were no issues with connections, ghosting, flickering, etc. The brightness is sufficient for office use, and even when the bezels are not exactly the same height, lining them up is no problem. The screen is exactly the same size as a 14" laptop screen, making it ideal for productivity whenever you're on the move or even walking through the office. Other colleagues have been interested in purchasing one (since they also own the 16" models).

EDIT: Depending how well this is received (very well so far), I may have to put in an order to deploy this to my users again. (Less than 5 months later)
The device continues to perform admirably well as we transition to working from home. A short time after I brought mine to the office, my boss also purchased one. Since all my monitors have the same DPI, I've been using it to charge my laptop the whole time, and I've never had an issue with its scaling. In situations where you want to maximize the number of external displays you have on your system, saving the extra port can be a game changer.
Edit (April 2021): I would buy this again. This is so useful to use for email and instant messaging, I'm buying another one.

Only a few connectivity options are available for this product. USB-C 3. 0 or higher is required. It is common for machines to only have one of these ports, and it is usually the same one used for charging. I have a Dell D6000 docking station with multiple USB 3 ports. Although there is one port that provides power and a USB - C port that also allows charging, none of these ports can supply video and power the monitor. The laptop, docking station, and second laptop were previously connected by an older Lenovo portable monitor. I was unable to use the ThinkVision M14 with any USB drive, even after reinstalling drivers and updating the DisplayLink drivers. The USB 3 port does not work, so I will have to return it. In addition, I have two other Lenovo products that I find high quality but do not expect customer service from Lenovo. It was worse than bad. I read similar reviews but just thought that people didn't realize you can use a USB A to USB C cable, but those reviews were accurate.

October 2020 update:
March 2020: Purchased a Macbook Pro 13" and the Lenovo ThinkVision was even more effective on the Mac than on the Lenovo. The Lenovo ThinkPad is my daily work computer, so I needed a small and portable screen for my home office and while traveling. It is the ideal solution to use the Lenovo ThinkVision! Screen quality is excellent and the portability is excellent. It works well with both my laptop and the Dell we have. It has a clean appearance and is simple to use. The screen on the ThinkPad is a little shorter when placed side by side with the laptop on the desk. By placing it on a laptop stand, I was able to devise a solution. This book is well worth the cost!.

My favorite feature is the compact size and the beautiful screen. A keyboard with a setting for changing the brightness and activating a blue light filter is awesome* This keyboard works beautifully for the most part, however, I cannot get the laptop to use passthrough charging. While it does work with something like my phone, it doesn't work with my laptop. When I try to charge the laptop with it, the power isn't enough to actually get it to work. In addition, I'd like to see a hard case attached, as the sleeve it comes with does not seem rigid enough and I think that this might lead to me breaking the screen. Besides that, I highly recommend this product. great screen that looks.
