I used to get headaches from working as a programmer because my eyes were tired. Then there was this "eye-opening" experience. I was drawn to the "care" monitor and decided to give it a shot to see if it worked; if not, I'll come back. I found a few, but the price is either prohibitively high or many of them require a more advanced computing setup to fully exploit their capabilities. Other brands are fine, but I'm gradually realizing that they're all made by the same company. As a result, the cost is largely determined by the brand's popularity. br>br>While BenQ is not a well-known brand in the United States, I used to own a BenQ laptop that I adored, so I had a favorable impression of the company. At the time of purchase, I had three options: This monitor, as well as a Dell and an Acer monitor. I used to have an Acer monitor, and it's terrible; it looks great on the outside, but once you use it, you'll realize it's "cheap. I'm replacing my old iMac with a new PC, but I'm concerned about finding a comparable screen at a reasonable price. I did a lot of research and read lists of "budget" editing screens, the majority of which were $300-$500. $1000 - I'm still unable to afford it in my current financial situation. Finally, after reading a slew of Amazon reviews, I decided to give this one a shot, and I'm very happy with my decision! I got the 24 inch and fiddled with the settings a little, but it was already pretty good right out of the box. br>br>I specialize in portraits and weddings, and my work is very colorful. As a result, I had to make certain that the color was accurate. I'd tried editing on my husband's computer a few times and discovered the hard way that his screen's color was off, making people's skin tones look sickly. So, as soon as I got the monitor set up, I pulled up images on both my iMac and the new BenQ screen, and they appeared to be very similar! We noticed that my iMac whites are a little warmer, so I pulled out a bunch of prints I'd had made and started comparing, and the BenQ seemed to be even more accurate to what my prints looked like!br>br>A lot of people complained that this screen is too bright, but I'm not sure if they've changed it since those reviews were written. I had it set to 100 brightness and it didn't seem too bright to me. I'm actually surprised at how good the screen quality is for the price; an IPS monitor of this size used to cost $400 or more, so I'm very impressed for the purpose I'm using it for.
