Despite the fact that its value series does not say value, Iomega 31713 needs to be replaced. Can you tell the difference between these two?

Although I do not know, it seems unlikely that there will be a difference between old Iomega drives and disks. Several years ago I stopped using these drives in favor of DVDs and USB

What are the chances of it working with Win 7 and USB?

As far as I can tell, mine does work on Windows

". It is a no-go from me. I am reducing my rating from 2 stars to 1. In order to get a repair order number and an address, I keep asking Omega. I was told because of a miscommunication that the only thing I needed was a power supply, which they would gladly send to In spite of the fact that my unit has completely died after a single use, I really wanted to give it 3 stars. This rating is based on the responsiveness of the Iomega staff and their good intentions. My problem was promptly resolved and they promised to replace the damaged part as soon as possible. Recently, I received a new power supply in the mail from them. There is only one small issue Apparently, the zip drive's power is provided by the USB port. Either Iomega is careless or it doesn't know its own product lineup. At least they give it a shot. In most cases, that would qualify as a "B" in these days. In the beginning, it was very light, convenient, and worked fine with my iMac. I then tossed it in my book bag and took it home with me. After the trip, it no longer works, which would indicate that it did not survive. Sadly, this is one frog I have to say goodbye to. The support staff over at Iomega was extremely helpful and provided all kinds of "solutions" related to conflicting extensions, missing drivers, and I'm afraid the device is dead. I just want to know wherever I can send it for repair or replacement. That Iomega would put tiny horizontal rubber feet on this gadget implies that you may possibly be able to use it vertically. The box is made of such lightweight plastic that the slightest bump on your desk or table will be enough to cause the box to topple. In fact, you might be better off investing in your storage needs by purchasing a CD burner given the price of zip disks. If you are interested in zip drives, I would recommend the heavier duty, more expensive Iomega zip drive -- You can either treat him as a fragile, delicate piece in your glass menagerie, or use him as a decorative element.

Designed to work on both Macs and PCs! It took me years to recover from a loss caused by Iomega (Jaz drives died in the middle of a drive A format of two different disks is required However, I needed this unit for a design course so I threw away all the disks and the hard drive

I really like this little drive. It performs very well. This is a practical and simple application, but it works quite well on my Win98SE PC and PowerBook G3 as well. It takes very little time to transfer files. USB devices that are easy to use, plug and play, and offer everything you need. A plug-and-play operating system that does not conflict with either I will not complain about the noise it makes, but I will not complain about the fact that it is powered by a bus. The best way to cut the cable cord for your MP3 collection- Using the CD-ROM, connect the modem to the computer The Mac has been connected to the RW! Cross-referencing isn't necessary when you can save yourself the time You can move this drive from computer to computer using cross-platform networking software. We don't have to carry heavy AC adapters around because bus power is available. Iomega saved me space by keeping it as light as my VST USB floppy drive. Thank you, Amazon, for the great price!.

Is in need of a press agent! A press agent is needed for this little guy! In other reviews, some people have mentioned that it makes an unusual sound, but it is neither loud nor offensive

It ejects disks without a hitch, but not one to cause any concern. My impression is that the case will last a long time. In terms of operating system requirements, the package mentions "Windows 95 and Windows NT 4. " A non-compatible version of 0 will not be supported Whenever the Iomega drivers are installed, you can connect USB devices to Iomega. Perhaps it would be wise to lookup the latest info about operating system support. to be able to eject the Zip disk after the computer is turned off, like with an external floppy disk drive that is available with some laptops.

The CD burner I used long ago is long gone, but I remember how good it was when I used it (before flash drives and cd burners arrived). The legacy I left behind included backing up music, movies, school work, and This baby deserves respect from all of us.
