Questions & Answers

Approximately how fast can a document be written?

When writing continuously under Windows 7, the 128GB drive's initial write speed is about 60 MB/s, but it drops to about 40 MB/s afterwards.

Does this drive have the ability to be encrypted?

An encrypted flash drive can be used with any device. You cannot limit yourself in any way. There is usually a free version of encryption available for most operating systems. You can find any information you need by simply searching the internet.

Do you know if this is compatible with Windows 10 restores?

However, a smaller, cheaper drive would work just as well for that as well

In the end of the tube, there appears to be a very small hole. What is the fit like between your keychain and the flash drive?

Initially it seemed that the width of the device at the end was a problem, but I agree with the first responder. I never experience this problem with my Kingston drive, which has a large hole that allows it to move freely and sit flat against my leg while in my pocket. My Kingston drive has a wide hole that is flat and symmetrical, so it can sit flat and move freely in my pocket. Getting my key loop through the hole was also difficult for me. A keychain with a locking mechanism that has a small steel wire loop is the one I use. As I mentioned, the wire had a grommet on one end of it that was a bit too large to fit through the opening of the Samsung drive, so I had to drill it out a bit larger, scratching the surface a bit as I did. I mentioned that it digs into my leg a bit now that it's attached to the key ring. Ultimately, I am unhappy enough with the design that I am looking elsewhere. The Kingston web site was so slow, I would have stuck with it.

It's fast for the price, it's small and easy to stow on a key chain, is consistent in performance across multiple units, and is stylish-just check the results of DiskMark
5/5

This Samsung BAR plus version of 64GB is one I bought for my key chain, one for office use, and one as a desk companion. We ensured Amazon was the seller to ensure no non-genuine Samsung parts were sold. My units just arrived, so I burned them in briefly using CrystalDiskMark in order to be sure each worked as well as compare speeds. Every benchmark test resulted in the three computer systems being within 2% of one another. Sequential read speeds in both cases exceeded 200 MB/s, on average hitting A total of 34MB/s were written. The tests were conducted on an unmodified USB 3 cable directly connected to my Lenovo Flex5 laptop. There is no doubt that the sequential read speeds are significantly faster over a USB3 port. The device has no bandwidth. Overall, I'm very happy with the price and the key chain-friendly stainless steel case. Using the covers from the USB end of each, I did cover the USB end of each.

There's nothing good about this USB
3/5

A metal USB with 64 GB capacity that I once owned has been lost to me. As this USB is brand new, I figured it would be just as good so I purchased the 128GB version. That was a big mistake for me. When I had my older metal Samsung USB drive, I could do read/write speeds consistently between 20 and 30MB/s and I loved it. 800 KB/s to 1 is what this one does. With a speed of 2 megabytes per second. There's nothing good about it. Oh my goodness, this is a bad USB drive.

Buy the old Samsung USB instead. Below is a link to the original one because this one is junk. You can buy on Amazon.

There has been an increase in write errors
3/5

*I was testing USB ports and cables for a new computer build with ATTO Disk Benchmark version 4. The USB ports and cables I was testing contained Samsung BAR Plus 128 GB Flash Drives. The grade for this class is 0. Setting the following parameters: Stack overflow is not particular to any data block size - it occurs regardless of block size, large or small. It is sometimes run for just a couple of test patterns and sometimes several full runs of ATTO are carried out. was consistent between 280 and I did not lose or corrupt any data since the write speeds remained erratic. Although the metal casing would get warm but not hot to touch, it did not get hot while in use. After I placed an order with Amazon, I received a Samsung BAR Plus 128 GB Flash Drive.
It behaved exactly the same way after about 80 to 100 passes of the ATTO Disk Benchmark test. I subsequently returned them both. The features of this flash drive are really nice. I hope Samsung will fix erratic write speeds in the next version of this drive. In the event that they do, I will buy it again.

Despite being decent, the drive has a slow write speed
4/5

Although the write speeds could be better, this is a decent performance drive for a 32GB drive. ATO tests show an impressive read speed of 227 MB/s, but write speeds were only 25-28 MB/s. When copying large files in Windows 10, write speeds are usually between 16-20 MB/s. There is some difference in price between this and a Sandisk Flair, but the Flairs have proven unreliable after about a year, so I am hopeful that these will be stronger.

You DJs need to be on your guard! CDJs will not work with this
3/5

As a DJ using Pioneer CDJs, I am taking the review purely on the basis of my experience with them. In many cases, these USBs will be sent to emergency loops. It's not clear to me why they are so bad for CDJs, but they simply are not good USBs. The two I've tried so far have been great. One I gave as a gift to a friend. It was the same thing for him. I have been playing songs and the USB suddenly crashes and I have been in emergency mode.

I know these USBs are great otherwise, but if you are going to use them in Rekordbox, do not purchase them!.
