USB 1 is not even an option. Speed 0 is the default. To load 345 images totaling 80, I had to load the first one for transferring photos almost 35 minutes in total. This file is six megabytes. It has proven very consistent results with the following units as I thought it was a defective unit. Formatting all five units and comparing them all allowed me to see how they compared. Two of the three computers and three of the computers are involved. There are zero and three. The number of ports is 0. Depending on the file's size, the download time can vary between 54 minutes and 93 minutes. In each case, I added a word document that measured less than 100Kb and those went in a flash as well. Over 5MB files such as music, photos, and videos jam up the units and cause a slowdown. Using an old USB 2, I performed the same tests. The 32gb SanDisk Cruzer Glide I used has nothing on the 0 / 32gb Cruzer Glide that I have and repeatedly tried it, it averaged about 25 to 30 seconds. The 3 computers do not have a bottleneck. There were no software updates available after checking for them. There were no errors found in the PNY units when they were checked for errors. I guess you can use them if you only need to store a few files. They run slowly like frozen molasses in the mountains at Christmas time. Over the age of 65, I would not recommend getting the 32 GB units if you plan to take advantage of the 32 GB capacity. If the file transfer isn't completed before you die, you will most likely die of old age.

A tool is necessary to remove the covers, while the write speeds and all USB errors are present on two of the five drives I received. I came across this pack after getting tired of always searching for a thumb drive in order to do quick copies. First, the covers are ridiculous! In attempting to remove them by hand, I have found it impossible to do. I think the little tab on each side of the drive jams up the mechanism. It is supposed to slide into a matching groove (for alignment, perhaps?) but jams up instead. With the 3rd drive, it took me about 30 seconds to remove it by prying each side with a small flathead screwdriver until the clear plastic and the drive separated. As a result, each drive looks like it was chewed by a little dog. The hard drive contains no data. My actual copy speeds were below 30MB/min - it was painful to wait for multi-gigabyte files to copy. Finally, over the six months I used these, I had no less than two drives go bad completely. All writes to these drives led to USB errors (on multiple computers). Rather than hassle,.

As a first point, I want to thank my wife & This account belongs to both of us, even though her name is on it. It is my opinion, however, as opposed to hers. I purchased these to keep project files, pictures, etc. , organized. I find them to be very helpful. In the past, I have used PNY thumb drives and have always found them to be reliable and easy to use. *Update as of September 30, 2020.

I hope these will continue the streak of success. With the use of higher-density USB drives, my good streak came to an end as I had feared. Just a few days ago, I got around to using the last of the five drives from the pack, and wouldn't you know it, it failed. The reason I backed down my rating to 4 stars was because of this. Although PNY is still a good company with good products, . . .

I tried getting in touch with the seller who said he would fix the issue. It appears that there is little or no information on Amazon that explains how to do so, and I discovered that in order for Prime buys that are fulfilled by Amazon, the buyer is supposed to deal with Amazon directly. Let me tell you. . . Amazon has a very big website that I spent an hour searching through and did not locate any contact information on it. It costs us money to join Prime and we don't even get email addresses for anyone at Amazon, not even the janitor, let alone - oh, my! - a manager! * It should be noted that the return window for this item is closed, according to their policies. It may still be possible to exchange the whole product, but you have to do so or return it. As far as the first four drives go, they are in use and filled with data - so I can't return them. Only one drive fails, so I'd like to swap it out for one that works, but it isn't possible. It cost the company the remaining two stars, at least the ones I was allowed to take away because of the lousy policies and especially the fact that you can't reach any of the company's employees to discuss the situation. Because there are no zero ratings, this transaction rates for me as biased because you can't rate it without leaving a star. There is one lousy star I can't delete because I couldn't get rid of it. The biased rating system of a company who doesn't focus on customer service imposed it upon me.

The reviews I gave on Amazon were fairly in depth, since I bought a few items there. I'd like to introduce the new agenda for the coming days. . . I give a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are before buying a certain item. It will be as advertised, well-made, meet or exceed the description, be a value, and arrive in a reasonable period of time. fit these criteria, then I will more than likely and descriptively tell you about the shortcomings of the products and you as a consumer won't have to go to the trouble of buying the product without some background information. I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page if the seller pulls the item and relists it under a different description. There have been a couple instances when sellers have lied about this in the past, and I have been true to my word both times.

I received two flash drives, one of them worked perfectly and the other one didn't. No matter what USB port you try, NOTHING happens. does one work, but not the other? Why should one work but not the other? I won't be buying any more PNY products. In order to use these drives in my car, I bought them. A great way to keep music in your phone is to put it in various folders. Each folder has 25 songs. I had to wait forever for just a few songs to load. This drive is VERY SLOW. My other SanDisk drive has 84 music folders, so I don't want to wait for the transfers on this one. I have also experienced a failure of the second disk. My computer states this flash drive is not readable. DISCONTINUED!.
