Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with an Asus laptop?

I believe so, as I use it with both my Lenovo laptop and my Macbook.

Is it possible to use this as a boot disk on a desktop computer? Is it necessary for me to use an internal SSD?

It is possible to use it as a "Startup Disk." br>I just did that on an older iMac, and it made such a difference! br>The computer is now extremely fast, and it is a fantastic machine.

Is it a slc drive: single- nand flash or mlc for level cell: the 2- multi-bit data flash level cell (mlc), emlc, or tlc: triple- (3-level cells) nand) a bit) a bit) a bit) a bit ?

It's a three-bit addition that's quite nice. It's where I keep my Acronis backups. It's quick, and I've had no problems using it. Anyone looking for an external hard drive should consider it.

Does it work on the Xbox 360 series?

I use it on my Xbox One and it works fine.

2020 Seagate Barracuda Fast SSD 2TB External Solid State Drive Portable – USB-C This is a review of the Seagate Barracuda Fast SSD 2TB External Solid State Drive Portable – USB-C. C USB 3. 0 for the PC that I bought. br>I purchased this solid state drive for a desktop computer I built in 2010 using an Asus P7P55D motherboard and an early Intel I7 processor. The motherboard was a 2009 vitage, made in Japan, and was a top-of-the-line product at the time; I still use it on a daily basis. br>br>On the Asus desktop, the Seagate Barracuda was not compatible. I tested it on a HP Envy with an I7 processor that I purchased in 2016. On this computer, the Seagate SSD performed admirably. br>It took a long time for me to figure out what was wrong. I also believe that some other customers who complained about their Seagate not working had the same issue. The issue was that the old Asus P7P55D didn't have any USB ports. There are three controllers built into the motherboard; after all, USB-C was first introduced in 2009. The number 3 had only recently been released. Seagate drives are not downward compatible, as I discovered. To put it another way, they won't work on a computer that has an older USB port. There are two controllers and two drivers in this system. When it came to Seagate external backup drives, the situation was the same. They will not function on older computers with only a USB port. There are two controllers available. Look at the end of the cable to see if it's black, white, or red. If that's the case, it's most likely a USB-connected device. If it's blue, it's most likely a USB-connected device. However, this is not always the case! The mother board on the old Asus P7P55D had two USB ports with blue tabs. However, according to the Asus's schematic diagram, only USB-A devices are supported. There were two controllers in the mix. This was also confirmed by the spec sheet. br>br>All Western Digital backup and internal drives have been proven to be USB-compatible. As a result, I only buy Western Digital (WD) My Passport hard drives these days. br>This problem occurs only when switching from a SSD or regular hard drive to a USB port via Sata. You won't have any issues if you use the Seagate internally and connect the drive's sata output to the motherboard's sata input/output. The issue with internal drives arises when cloning the new drive using a USB connection and then installing it into the computer once the cloning is complete. If your sata to USB adapter is USB-compatible, you're good to go. 3 and you don't have a USB port installed on your computer If you have three controllers, you're screwed. Fortunately, a SATA to USB adapter can be purchased. For around $8, you can get two adapters on Amazon. 00br>As for some other customers who claimed this vendor refused to refund them for a defective SSD, I'm not sure what happened, but I suspect something similar to what was described above. I've worked with computers for over 40 years and can tell you that having a defective solid state drive is extremely rare because they don't have any moving parts. If they're damaged, it's usually because the person hasn't grounded themselves to prevent static charge from building up on their body. br>br>I'm writing to inform other customers that I received a full refund from this vendor. I returned the fully functional SSD to them in a carefully packaged box with bubble wrap and sent it to them via United Parcel Service (UPS), as that is the most reliable and safest method based on my previous experience.

I'm using it for Apple Time Machine and as a long-term storage solution
5/5

SQL Server backup drive is a term used to describe a storage device that stores data for SQL Server It's working perfectly! My 2- After my Apple Time Machine drive filled up, I decided to get this instead of going through the hassle of deleting old backups. For that purpose, it's FANTASTIC. Super- Quick and unnoticeable. The green light is cool, and I like it, but it serves its purpose "in the background," so I usually don't notice it. I hadn't noticed any issues with heat until the review mentioned it as a rating feature. I'm not really feeling the heat. I turn off my Mac completely every night, so it isn't on all the time. br>br>I was so pleased with it that I decided to use it on my SQL Server machine, where I have about 8 instances of SQL data servers on one machine, each with multiple databases, and backups are taken daily (7-day rotation) and weekly (up to 1-year). It was overfilling the tank on one of the drives. As a result, I purchased this as a second external SSD, and it now serves as the backup location for all instances and databases on a weekly basis. It's fantastic! It's difficult to tell. And, like my Mac, this Windows 2019 Server shuts down completely each night (after backups), so it's not on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This drive is fantastic for the price. br>br>I haven't had any problems with it. br>br> I'd probably buy a couple more and keep them in the closet until I needed them if it weren't for how quickly technology advances. This is an excellent storage idea!.

A good hard drive is essential
3/5

software that is not up to par This is a fantastic backup device; it quickly copied my files to the hard drive and, more importantly, it made finding what I needed a breeze. Years ago, the Seagate software was a disaster, and I couldn't find any of my files. There are several items that are vexing and overly complicated. (1) The "Toolkit" (the software) is set to start automatically when the computer boots up. This can be turned off by pressing a button. I turned it off in the MS CONFIGURATION - STARTUP. (2) My computer did not recognize the device. The solution can be found in the instructions. The Disk number is located in DEVICE MANAGER. You assign a letter to the drive in DISK MANAGEMENT, and it appears on the screen. (3) Because they want you to sign up for their cloud service (SYNC), the menu ("Toolkit") isn't very user-friendly. You can navigate the menu, but it's difficult. (4) When your backup is finished, it appears under "Toolkit" rather than "backup. " So there you have it. (5) I'm going to discontinue using this software after a month of use. It's a challenge to work with. Worst of all, some folders (normal folders, not system protected folders) are skipped. I'll go with a different software provider.

Fast
5/5

I bought it for my Xbox One X to speed up loading times in my games, and I'm very pleased with it. It seriously reduced my load time by at least 25% even as far as 50% not just booting up games either like loading into a game before anyone else, going into another%.

Love it! As my B: drive, I use an external drive similar to this
5/5

Data files are stored on a hard drive. That way, when I go on vacation, I can just plug it into my laptop and have access to all of my current files, which appear as B. as well. It was intended to be a replacement for a WD - 00 is the price of a portable hard disk. which was still in good working order. br>br>It's fantastic to see the speed increase! Love it. Previously, there was a noticeable delay when opening Quicken files; now, they open instantly. They've arrived and are prepared to depart! The only thing I regret is that I didn't do it months ago! The fact that it's USB-compatible is a plus. It's a plus if it's in the range of C and doesn't require any external power. I can also use it to charge my phone or tablet. This is truly a storage device that can be used in any situation.

"Too much power has been taken away by the device
3/5

" My 2017 MacBook Pro won't work with it. Although I was able to format the SSD for Mac, I received those messages almost immediately. It ejected everything from my USB hub, which was also blinking from a power error message. I returned it and will replace it with a better SSD for my MacBook Pro.
