While theoretically you could do it, it would not be Several considerations need to be considered, such as that if you do RAID, which this device is purposefully designed to do, it will use the lowest drive capacity as the basis for the Using 2 8tb drives, that 8tb will be halved when you use 1 4tb and 1 8tb drive. One way to work around this would be if we group similar drives together in a different storage pool, or if we use a JBOD. You can use this method to create One pool with a 4TB drive and another with an 8TB drive, for example.
In this test, I used a TeamGroup Elite DDR4 32GB kit along with two 16GB 2666MHz PC4-based memory modules. 21030 CL19 sticks have been tested and are working perfectly
There is likely no need to add a PCIE card as you can likely do it yourself. Qnap presales is always happy to answer your questions. You can also check Qnap's compatibility list to find out if the Pcie card you're considering works with Qnap.
It is true. The next thing I plan to do is upgrade my i7 to either an 8700T or a Be sure it is a low TDP such as the thermal ones.

I would highly recommend this machine. It is exceptional in every respect. A 5 day period later, the failure occurred. Returned with no problems after the power would not come up
Would not power up. So I went out and bought With 8TB NAS drives and power-efficient 7200 rpm Toshiba M300s, this system is fully loaded in raid 5. I am upgrading the memory to 32 gigs and I also have 2 1 tb rocket NvMe drives in raid one to allow fast access to 2 terabytes of data
I also have the tvs473 Backing up this NAS can now be done using it.
The QNAP device I just purchased is my second one from QNAP and I am as happy with it as I was with The setup process is streamlined, and the maintenance is simple. A few of the apps available for it are a bit difficult to use, but they do work okay. It was necessary for me to set up a Plex server when I upgraded to this model. Previous models would work, but some videos would not be able to be transcoded. Consequently, this one has all the power needed and hasn't caused any problems so far.
Configuration interfaces for Docker images are very difficult to use. The device was the #1 choice for running PLEX Media server and I have to say it does a great job at running Plex and streaming 4k videos to my televisions. While others are much easier to set up, others are quite hard to get started. It is hard to understand what the settings do using the online documentation, which is sparse. I have tried watching tons of vendor sponsored videos on YouTube, but they are among the worst videos I have ever watched. Furthermore, they do not explain the details of the product or how to configure anything in detail to make the application useful to a typical.
As a way to improve my entertainment experience, I decided to install Plex server. Due to the limitations of the QNAP 2 bay, I installed Plex server on my desktop computer which works fine but I had to keep it powered on to stream to another device. I did some research and decided to purchase the TVS-180 in order to save on space anyway. This is not the first time I'm I have used it to stream media to multiple devices without any lag or choppy Data from external SSD drives can be transferred to QNAP easily with the newer generation USB ports. I appreciate the 5GbE port but I do not have a switch or any devices running faster than 1Gb. I think it would be nice to be able to upgrade later. I've had this QNAP up and running without any complaints for months now. It has been a great purchase for me.
Contact the customer service department if you have any questions. Since some months, we have been using the NAS as a server. The built-in App includes a Help app. There have been no issues. A simple online QNAP forum helped clarify some questions on how I was setting up and using the NAS, and I found it easy to The user guide provides instructions for setting up the computer, but is not sufficient for a novice. The easiest way to install fast transfers and HDD SSDs is with USB 2. 0 or HDMI. The bottom line the equipment and hardware are easy to set up and to Despite being easy to access, the applications require some knowledge in order to exploit them to their full potential. As a backup, we will get a second one.
It is not my specialty, but I needed a NAS to use at home and at work. I considered it a luxury, but the drive is necessary for my I created a Raid 6 in just a few seconds, and the user interface is very intuitive and has all the necessary sub-apps for whatever I needed. Essentially a great unit from beginning to end. There was a lot of silence today!.
By far, this is my first NAS from QNAP and the best one out there. It would be impossible for me to have any desire or need that wasn't met by them. There are two PCI express slots, and you can upgrade the CPU and RAM. There is no shortage of things to choose from. I give it 10 out of 10.
It does everything you would want and I was very impressed with the.
