A pair of hard drives ships with this unit. A total of two bays are available.

The Terastation 3410dn comes with novastor backup software, does it not?

As part of the TeraStations package, NovaStor backup software is included.

Does both of the Nic ports have traffic going on ?

The unit and the switch can be configured differently, so it depends on how the unit and the switch are

Do you have the capability to back up Windows and Mac using ?

While I am not a Mac expert, I would suspect that yes. I have the 4TB and have striped two of them together to make two 2TB drives. I am not sure if the 8TB is actually four 2TB drives, but you can make it all one drive.

For homeowners looking for a NAS product, this is perfect

The Buffalo NAS drive I have been using for 13 years has never caused any problems. In that time I have gone through 2 WD drives and 1 IOMega drive. In the event my IOMega drive failed, I chose to go with another Buffalo drive since I have had good experiences with Buffalo drives. I have so far been pleased with the new/larger one. I was able to set it up in my Windows network in no time at all. Windows Edge would not let me access the drive IP address This was the only issue I encountered Although I emailed Tech Support regarding this issue, I have yet to receive any response. I was able to open the door using Windows Explorer. I used Explorer again and everything worked like a charm.

The system is easy to configure and reliable

My TeraStation 3210DN has been working well for nearly a year now and I would highly recommend this unit. While there has been some frustration with the original setup, where I had to "format" the drive, it is running like a charm now. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that the TeraStation has built-in Dropbox synchronization. By entering your Dropbox credentials and specifying which folder on TeraStation should be synced with which folder on Dropbox, you can synchronize them instantly As a result, you can now access your files in the cloud without opening up your desktop computer (a big deal for us) A network that allows outside world access in the office.

Compatible with Google backup and sync, but not with Microsoft Exchange

It is disappointing to see that Google Backup and Sync does not work on this device. This whole thing took me a huge amount of time and anguish to figure At this point a boat anchor is all that's needed.

A great NAS, I must say! My old IOMEGA drive was replaced with this one and I realized what a great product Computers running MAC or Windows seamlessly can be connected to it

I use it on my wireless network with no problems It includes wired and wireless Internet connections. It is wonderful to be able to manage my shares and users via the console. I am very happy to have found an affordable NAS that has a lot of power!.
