Playstation 5 - If you want to format for Playstation 5, you can use the same steps. I did it on mine and it worked!
You will need to format the PS4 as follows Go to Settings and select the Customization option The following devices have been tested In the External Hard Drives list, select your external hard drive, and then select the Format as Extended Storage option. X can be tapped after selecting Next. Then tap X next to Format. Choosing Yes and tapping X will complete your action. Choosing Okay and tapping X will conclude the process. On my computer, it showed up as *br> An external hard drive is included with the PS4.
The following 3 differences are present Unlike most drives, this one has a smaller casing. To prevent the car from sliding, it does not have rubber stomps on the bottom. Lights are smaller on the operation light. Except for that, it's pretty much A USB3 and NTSF port is available.
As a result of the newest update, Windows 10 no longer supports Image backups. It has happened on 3 computers running Windows 10. You'll find that Windows is instructing you to use 3rd party backup software by way of the error messages. Many free software programs are available that will handle it, but you require an external hard drive. I'm not sure about the backup feature in Windows 10, because it's nothing more than a copy and paste. You can backup folders with the free image programs, as well.
My unit came with a 75" cord. If used with an organizer, I recommend using an over-the-head organizer. In order to use a Mac, you'll need a UCB-enabled device You'll need a USB port and a C

My collection of Western Digital hard drives has increased by more than ten over the last 15 years. It was the only hard drive to fail out of the bunch, and it was many years after it was installed.
When I got the drive, at first I was very pleased The construction of the piece looked good. Tests conducted on it and external ones were successful Testing the surface of the program was a success. Tests on the surface and formatting took a normal amount of time for an external drive of such a size (about 15 hours for full test on the surface). It seemed, however, that it was progressing much slower than expected when I started backing up my data to it. The problem was not with my computer, cable, USB port or cable This problem did not occur with any of the other drives attached to the same port/cable. Over the course of the backup process, the problem didn't change. We have not been able to solve this problem by rebooting the computer or changing the USB port. There were no unusual noises or vibrations, the read speed was not affected, and in the end the data were written to the drive In spite of my best efforts, I was not able to update my drive's firmware. While I did not have any other USB devices attached, the WD firmware update said to disconnect all USB devices except the hard drive I wanted to update. There was a message that I could not get past. In the end, I decided to keep the drive, since I need a new external hard drive and there are not many options for portable 5T drives at the moment. Moreover, no matter what problems this drive has, it should Lastly, I would like to point out the following A new tool from WD called "WD Discovery" is now available. A WD web site states that "WD Discovery allows you to download and keep up to date other WD Apps, and learn about software from WD partners" but no documentation is included with the drive. I installed it under Sandboxie (a virtual environment that makes sure you can fully uninstall programs) for curiosity's sake because the last part sounded like it was quite a large piece of adware. A program whose stated purpose is to help you download other apps failed to install because WD discovery wanted to install a kernel driver that Sandboxie didn't support. I'm not sure why WD discovery would need a kernel driver to work.
It is egregious how much more expensive it is to jump from 4TB to 5TB. To still cost so much, HDD drives are too slow and antiquated. There are no non-conforming parameters in this model for some reason There are slippery feet on the cheap plastic surface, and the cheap plastic has a glossy/slippery finish. Because of this, it slides around like a hockey puck on basically any hard flat Among the three previous My Passport models I have, none of them have a pocket It is easy to slip your WD did a really astonishing thing by overlooking this design aspect. I don't care about the software that comes with it LED on/off button in WD Discovery doesn't work, and WD Drive Utilities crashes and locks up immediately when I first open it-it has to be force quit and then getting rid of it is a pain since it gets stuck as "in use. " It is very likely that this will be my last WD external hard drive. I have nine other WDs from other manufacturers.
Item arrived intact and in unopened packaging. If there was damage to the box, please provide photos. I arrived early to pick up the drive This disk was formatted as NTFS and came with both Win32 and MAC Before I put the drive to use, I ran the included installer and then full WD diagnostics. I recently returned home to discover that my external drive stopped working after less than 10 hours of backup use. It will no longer mount (or unmount) on any of my systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, MAC OS). Due to the fact that WD software cannot repair or mount the drive, I can no longer use the drive. Other users have reported that it now makes an annoying clicking noise. The hard drives I use, internal and external, have been without incident or failure for over 20 years. We give this one a failing grade because it's disappointing.
I plan to use it as a backup drive. It is a bit smaller in physical size than my old WD USB drives. A new desktop computer connected to a USB 3 HUB was used to test it, and a test program was run The output I got when I ran the program was The following is a sequence read (Q= 32, T= 1) Obviously, that's not what you meant. The sequence write speed is 506 MB/s (Q=32,T=1) This packet has a speed of 038 MB/s

A Windows 10 Professional version is available reasonably fast when reading and writing sequential data, however it is substantially slower when reading and writing random data, as would be expected. The speeds are comparable to those of an internal mechanical drive.
It took me several attempts to reformat the first version, so I decided to upgrade to this newer 4TB version. I replaced the item with the same one and it works fine. I love how fast it is, how quiet it is, and that it works seamlessly with both my Mac and my wife's Since I've been out of use for the past ten years, I will never use that brand again) and switch to WD!.
