I bought this laptop for college, and as a freshman, I needed something affordable and long-lasting, so I went with the core i5 10th generation, and I am very pleased with my purchase
5/5

I had considered purchasing a Mac, but the cost was prohibitive. In some ways, the pavilion is silky and crisp. It's what I use for online classes, and it's what I need to run some programs for my science classes. It hasn't let me down at all. It's been a month since I've used it, and it's still going strong. When I first got it, it took me about 15 minutes to set it up. The only thing I can think of that might be a disadvantage for some people is that the battery does not last all day. Around 8:00 a. m. , I begin class. The battery dies between 20 and 12 p. m. ; however, there is a battery saver button, which usually extends the life of my battery by an hour or two. Tablet mode is entertaining, but I don't use it very often, so I can't comment on it. Regardless, this is a very good product for the price. Would 100% recommend it to college students. However, I do not believe this is a good option for gaming. (Please accept my apologies for the stickers!). )br>br>Edit: )br>br> This laptop has been in my possession for almost a year. It's very sturdy, despite its light appearance; I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't been scratched. No dents or scratches, so I keep it in my backpack (usually alongside my tennis racket). I also dropped water on it a few times, and it still works like new (I'm not saying it's waterproof; perhaps I was just lucky), but it's a very strong device overall. I've taken a couple of coding classes, including python, HTML, and CSS, and it works flawlessly. It is extremely fast; however, I keep all of my photos, music, documents, and other files on an USB drive, leaving my laptop nearly empty, so this could be the reason. The camera is quite good, and you can zoom in and out. The speakers are also quite good. Overall, I still give this laptop a 5/5 after a year.

One of the most affordable 2-bedroom apartments in the area

The top (across from the screen) has a brushed aluminum-like finish. While it appears convincing when new, I expect that as it is scratched over time, it will become clear that it is just painted plastic, even from a distance. br>br>The hinge is well-designed, moves smoothly, and is well-secured. There is no wiggle or play; it is simply very stable. br>br>The entire package weighs 3 pound 9 ounces. The power adapter is not included. br>br>Keyboardbr>The keyboard layout is comfortable, with no unusual key placement or size; this may not seem significant if you've never used a laptop with an unusual keyboard layout (I'm looking at you, Lenovo), but believe me, it matters. br>br>Another advantage of having a fairly standard keyboard layout is that keyboard covers are readily available. This cover fits this model perfectly, even though it isn't specifically listed as compatible: I've had silicone keyboard covers like this save more than one device, and I strongly advise anyone purchasing one of these to get one. (I'm not endorsing any particular cover; rather, I'm showing you an example of one that works well. ) This way, if you want, you can use the model numbers from that listing to search for others. )br>br>The keys themselves are well-made. created a low-cost keys to a profile They're quiet and responsive, and I haven't had any issues with bounce or the (mostly) full-range of motion. My large hands find the width keys to be comfortable. The backlight on the keyboard is well-designed. br>br> Each key has a secondary function (punction, for example). ) have a nice glow to them. There are three backlight intensity levels, but I find that the lower intensity is unnecessary because the default setting is bright enough to see in a brightly lit room while not being overpowering in a dark room. br>br>Touchpadbr>As far as touchpads go, they're pretty standard. I didn't move the mouse pointer by accident while typing because it's well-designed. The touchpad is very useful, though I still prefer a USB mouse. br>br>Displaybr>The screen is extremely glossy, reflecting everything that is even slightly bright behind you. When you're working with bright/white content on the screen, it's not as noticeable - When there is lighter content on the screen, as when using a word processor or reading most web pages, the surface becomes like a mirror, but when there is darker content on the screen, as when watching videos, the surface becomes like a mirror. That didn't strike me as a good design choice, but it's possible that the mirror finish is required because it's a touch-screen device. screen? br>br>The bl>br>The bl>br>The bl>br> Because I don't have a reliable method for measuring nits, my assessment of its brightness will be subjective. In summer noontime daylight, it's noticeably dimmer than other 300 nit screens I've tested, though it's still somewhat readable if you stay in the shade, so I'd estimate its brightness to be between 230 and 250 nits. This screen is primarily intended for indoor use, though, as previously stated, it can be used outdoors on a sunny day with adequate shade. The screen is bright in a dark environment, but it suffers from typical LCD uniformity issues (see the image of a blank screen attached to this review). br>br>The display's refresh rate appears to be set to 59Hz. Because it is an IPS screen with extremely fast switching, it passed the blur-test. Busters passed all of their tests with flying colors - There is almost no motion blur. It's perfect for watching videos because it's non-existent. br>br>Even with my large fingers, the capacitive touch screen is very responsive and accurate. I don't have a stylus to test, so I can't say whether it's compatible or accurate. br>br>Real-life-style-style-style-style-style-style-style-style-style-style Windows 10 (Not in S Mode!) )br>A large portion of this 2- "Windows 10 Home in S Mode" is the operating system on one type of laptop. "S Mode" is a severely constrained version of Windows 10 that only allows you to use the Edge browser and run apps from the Microsoft App Store. Instead of a real-time mode, "S Mode" was included. The presence of life Windows 10 usually indicates that the vendor was not confident that the hardware provided would be capable of running Windows 10. Thankfully, this laptop comes with a fully functional version of Windows 10 Home, which performed admirably in my tests. br>br>Included Softwarebr>How would you set up a new machine without first removing all of the pre-installed software? Isn't it always the case that garbage vendors are crammed in? This machine comes with the usual bloatware, "free trial" software, and offer software. If you're unfamiliar with those terms, they basically refer to apps that are more concerned with hooking you into paying fees for services than with increasing your productivity. br>br>Some of the trialware/offerware is included with Windows 10, while others come from HP. I can't really give you a comprehensive list of what I think you should remove from this laptop as soon as you turn it on, but I can suggest two things you should get rid of right away. The first is McAfee LiveSafe, which is a waste of space that will eat up resources while doing nothing to protect your computer, then expire in a year, six months, or whenever and beg for more money. Simply uninstall it and restart your computer; the built-in Windows Defender anti-virus software will take over. Malware that comes bundled with Windows won't drain your battery and, in fact, does a better job of detecting and cleaning malware. The second item I recommend you get rid of right away is "WildTangent Games. " To completely remove it, you'll need to uninstall both the "App" and the installed program. I'm disappointed that HP thinks so little of its customers that it would include WildTangent Games pre-installed on this machine. the installation WildTangent Games were a widely reviled vehicle for spyware during my days as a PC technician. br>br>There were a few other things I immediately removed, such as Express VPN, Dropbox Offer, Microsoft Office, and so on. If you don't get rid of them, they'll keep popping up and annoying you by either trying to talk you into signing up for new services or scaring you into it. If you want to take advantage of cloud computing, Signing up for a Microsoft Account gets you some free "OneDrive" space, and if you need more, it's worth paying for it – you don't need both Dropbox and OneDrive. The Microsoft Office stuff only gives you basic access to Microsoft Word and tries to get you to sign up for paid services to get the rest. I switched to OpenOffice years ago and have never looked back. If you don't already have a VPN service, I recommend doing some research before signing up with Express VPN. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I strongly advise you to go through the installed "Apps" and uninstall anything with the word "Offer" beside it. br>br>Convertible / 2-seater / 1 featuresbr>The ability to use the "convertible" features was the feature that drew me to this machine the most; I enjoy watching movies without being tied to a specific room (and when traveling). br>br>Laptop Modebr>In laptop mode, this is just like any other slim-line laptop. laptop on the line As the speakers fire up from the far side of the keyboard, this configuration provides the best/clearest sound, as well as the most comfortable overall ergonomics. br>br>Tent Modebr>In Tent Mode, the laptop is folded and propped up on a surface in an upside-down V shape. This is by far my preferred mode for watching movies and television on this machine, but it does have some drawbacks. Although I was able to hear everything fine in this mode, it would have been nice if they had included some silicone or rubber bumpers on the edge to keep the laptop from slipping or rough surfaces from scuffing up the edge of the laptop itself. br>br>Tablet Modebr>It's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to tablet mode. In this mode, the laptop is folded backwards, with the keyboard and screen on the outside, and the keyboard is disabled. While this laptop can be used in a similar manner to a tablet, its extra bulk is a consideration. The bigger problem I had was holding it in such a way that my fingers didn't accidentally activate a control or scroll to the bottom of a page because they tickled the touch screen's edge. Switching to "Tablet Mode" in Windows 10 helped a little, but not much. Adjusting the screen brightness or volume in tablet mode is also difficult. I think this mode would be much better if there were volume and brightness controls on the machine's edge, as well as some software tweaking to move controls away from the edges, where you're more likely to activate them accidentally while trying to hold the "tablet" in place. br>br>Speakersbr>The "Audio by Bang and Olufsen" gets a lot of attention. They sound remarkably clear for such small speakers, with a wider dynamic range than I expected, but don't expect miracles. While watching shows in tent mode, I had to turn up the volume on a couple of occasions, and it still didn't sound very loud. br>br>Battery Lifebr>Without attempting to apply any scientific method to judge battery life, I observed that I was able to get about 4-hours of use out of it while using it. When browsing the web, watching the occasional YouTube video, and writing in a word processor, you can get 5 hours out of a single charge. It wasn't much more than 2. While watching Netflix or other videos at full brightness for 5 to 3 hours. The battery capacity isn't particularly impressive at 3470mAh, but it appears to be adequate for such a light system. br>br>WiFi speedbr>Multi-device compatibilitybr> Wi-Fi feature This laptop's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in one chip delivers mediocre results. In practice, I was able to achieve transfer speeds of nearly 10MB/s (bytes per second, not bits per second), which is more than sufficient for most day-to-day tasks. day-to-day tasks, but it's no match for the performance-tuned chips in some of the other laptops I've tested, which can more than double that throughput. Again, I don't think this is a disadvantage because it provides adequate performance for general-purpose computing. br>br>Webcam / Microphonebr>The built-in webcam has a 720x1280 sensor and is very basic. It has a low ISO sensitivity, like most generic webcams, and thus requires a good deal of ambient light to produce a clear image. As the camera attempts to compensate for low light in a darker environment, the image becomes grainy and the video smears. I wouldn't try to record for YouTube on it, but as long as you're in a well-lit room, it'll suffice for web conferencing. lit room. br>br>On the other hand, the built-in microphone does a decent job of picking up voice. Although the documentation isn't clear, it's possible that B designed the microphone as well. In any case, I believe they did an excellent job for a built-in microphone. br>br>Storagebr>The ability to upgrade the primary storage is one of the features I look for in a laptop. When you see "eMMC" in the description, it generally means that the primary storage (i. e. The hard drive is soldered in and replacing it is usually more trouble than it's worth. I'm pleased to report that this laptop has full M support. 2 NVMe SSDs that can be upgraded to a larger capacity drive if necessary, though the 512GB drive that comes with it is more than enough for my needs. This laptop was clearly not designed to be upgraded or serviced by end users, as evidenced by how difficult it was to disassemble, but once the back was removed, it appears to have been designed to accommodate a full SATA SSD as well, with a slot carved out under the right palm rest and an unpopulated ribbon socket labeled "HDD1. " As of the time of this review, I couldn't find any documentation on this, so I'm not sure if it's an either-or situation. or if you have to choose between the two, or if you can use both a SATA and a M. I wasn't able to test this because I didn't have the proprietary adapter to connect the drive to the board. br>br>The supplied 512GB NVMe drive performed well but was limited to 1GB/s writes and 1GB/s reads. Reads at a rate of 5 GB/s. This is about half the potential of the NVMe spec, which is reasonable for a budget drive. Due to the fact that it would have necessitated re-entry, I didn't want to try out a faster NVMe drive to see if the problem was with the drive or the controller when I installed Windows 10. The drive speeds are fine because you won't be gaming on this laptop. br>br>CPU/GPU Performance / Throttlingbr>So does this laptop throttle the CPU? While my default assumption is that it throttles the CPU/GPU until proven otherwise, most of my attempts to verify one way or the other have been thwarted by the lack of system hooks used by Intel XTU (which flatly refuses to install) or MSI Afterburner (which installs but can't see anything). With a base frequency of 1GHz, the machine runs relatively cool most of the time, and the fan isn't really capable of moving much heat, so I doubt you'll ever see a "burst" to 3. 6GHz, but that's largely irrelevant unless you're trying to play games on this machine. br>br>In my testing, the games that I was able to get up and running performed admirably at medium to high settings - Older games could run on high settings without issue, but newer games required a reduction in settings. Even though this isn't a gaming machine, it gives you an idea of what it can do. br>br>I had no trouble using GIMP to edit large images, even when performing computationally difficult operations like perspective shift and de-noising. algorithms to reduce noise br>br>The full-text version of this article is available at http://www. br>br> The HDMI port is large enough to connect a second monitor up to 4k@60 (it defaults to 4k@30, but can be switched to 60Hz and works without problems in my testing). It was also capable of rendering web pages and video in 4K with the same fluidity as in 1080p. br>br>Gamingbr>While this isn't a gaming laptop – as anyone reading this knows – even the most businesslike user might be tempted to dabble from time to time. I had a lot of trouble getting games to work on this system. Most games crashed to the desktop after one to five minutes, with no warning or error message. Older games like BioShock, Deus Ex Human Revolution, and others proved to be more successful. br>br>Video Playbackbr>I experimented with a number of scenarios for video playback. H265 10-minute replay Content in bit 4K (HDMI Outputs 4K) was essentially smooth and flawless, as was Blu-ray content. VLC and libaacs are used to playback Blu-ray discs. On 1080p content, both YouTube and Netflix stuttered on occasion, but I'm being picky. picky. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been paying close attention to how smooth the playback was. br>br>Otherbr>- br>br>- br>- br>- br>- br>- br Regrettably, the 14-year-old Because the dh2011nr does not support Power Delivery, it cannot be charged using a USB port. Some of the higher-level ports, such as the C port, are also available. x360's on the other hand, can't. This, in my opinion, is a huge missed opportunity because the ability to charge via USB-C is a huge plus. C simplifies the acquisition of additional power adapters (one for the home, one for the office, and so on). ) and allows you to extend your runtime while traveling by using a large power bank with PD support.
- To get certain apps (OpenOffice) to scale fonts and other elements correctly, compatibility mode was required. The reason for this is that the display drivers aren't fully featured enough to support the DPI mode set by the app.
- There's no obvious way to wrap the cord to reduce the amount of space it takes up in your bag, as there is with most laptop power adapters.
- The USB ports easily provided enough power to run external spinning hard drives and optical drives without the need for a separate power supply. This also means that if you use the ports on this laptop to charge other USB devices, they may charge faster if the device is designed to take advantage of higher-speed USB charging. Power sources with a high amperage. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> br>br>The 14-year-old The dh2011nr isn't the most powerful, hasn't got the brightest screen, and isn't the fastest, but it has a lot of good features and performance for its price. It's ideal for web surfing, web conferencing, photo editing, and watching movies or TV shows. It is one of the most reasonably priced two-bedroom apartments in the area. I've only seen one laptop that can run full-screen games. It runs full-fledged Windows 10 Home and isn't sluggish in the least; it's quiet, has good battery life, is lightweight, and is a joy to use. In a nutshell, it's precisely what I needed. Advantages: br>br>
- br>Thin and light-weight - Full- standard keyboard size (compatible with keyboard covers available)br>- Full- HDMI connector of a suitable size - 4K@60 works perfectly finebr>- FULL VERSION OF WINDOWS 10 HOME (NOT "S MODE")br> a long-lasting batterybr>- For watching videos or working without a keyboard, Convertable has a lot of options. br>- a fan that isn't too loud Even at maximum volume, it is barely audible. br>- Storage space is adequate - 512 Gigabytesbr>- Legit M. 2 hard drives (so it can be upgraded)br> Built-in microphone is excellent. br>- The full- USB 3. 0 port size 0 ports are capable of delivering enough current to support power-hungry devices. external hard drives and external DVD/Blu-ray players are among the most power-hungry devices. ray drivesbr>br>contrary to popular belief, ray drives have a number of drawbacks. br>br>
- br>- A gleaming reflective screen surface can be very distracting (especially during dark video scenes)br>- In Tent Mode, there are no "bumpers" or rubber feet to protect the edge and keep it from slipping. br>- With a brightness of only 240 nits, the screen is only marginally usable in daylight - This is a screen for indoor use only. br>- Pre- bloatware/nagware software, including the spyware "WildTangent Games"br>br>Neutral Remarks:
- Can't really play games on it (newer titles appear to run fine, but nearly all of them crash after the first minute)br>- Tablet mode is unique, but it's difficult to use because the controls are on the edge of the screen, where your fingers are held. br>- The GPU is very basic, with no monitoring options. br>- The CPU does not have the standard system hooks for monitoring.

There is no lighting on the keyboard, and the power button is located in an awkward location
4/5

There are a lot of features on this laptop that I really like. It has a long battery life, is lightweight, has a touchscreen, and can be used as a tablet. I chose it because the specifications stated that it would have a backlit keyboard, but it does not (though it is not defective enough to be returned). I'm annoyed by the location of the power button; it's on the side of the laptop where you grab it to move it, and I keep bumping it and turning it off. It's extremely inconvenient to be kicked out of Zoom meetings. I'll take care of it once more, but I'll keep his name in mind when I need a new computer.

I like the feel and action of the keyboard, as well as the fact that it is illuminated, after two weeks of use
4/5

This machine will not be taxed by everyday light computing, but I'm not sure how it will perform in games or intensive graphic manipulation. The battery lasts less than three hours. 4 HOURS OF LIGHT COUNTRY COUNTRY COUNTRY COUNTRY I'm not sure I'll keep this machine, mainly because of the battery life and the fact that I'm not sure it has true DDR 4 RAM.

The second one is effective, but only for a short period of time
3/5

The first one I got quickly became unresponsive, preventing me from accessing the Microsoft Store or even installing Windows updates. It wouldn't work no matter what I tried. It was suggested that I try another one during my discussions with Amazon about returning the item. That's what I did, and it's been a huge success. The start-up time is minimal, and everything appears to function flawlessly, with the exception of the battery life, which is extremely short. However, I am so pleased with the rest of the laptop that I have decided to overlook the number of times I must connect to charge it. Overall, it's a fantastic laptop, something I didn't expect to say after receiving the first one. Due to the numerous issues with the first laptop, I gave it four stars. My battery is nearly useless after about a year. This would be a great computer if HP had put quality into it; I almost have to keep the power cord plugged into the laptop to get it to work, and even then, I'm having problems. Given that this is my second HP laptop and the battery is already dead, DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP.
