Questions & Answers

It only has an 11" screen, and I'd like to expand it. Is it possible to connect it to a portable monitor?

It works with Chromecast and, like HP, uses display port. You can connect a HD monitor to it using a display port to hdmi cable and a USB C to display port adapter.

Is there a microphone on it?

It is something I have yet to try. However, according to the information, it can be used for video conferencing.

Do you know how to use Microsoft Word?

In the traditional sense, no. Chromebooks are unable to run desktop versions of Word or Office, so if you need to use the computer for coursework or work that requires Office programs, you should not purchase a Chromebook unless you have another computer on which to install Office. I teach Office programs at a college where I work. We get a lot of calls from students who want to know if Office will run on a Chromebook because they were told it would.

Is it true that the number of processor cores is eight? What is the total number of threads? Can we get at least 8GB of RAM?

There are eight cores and eight threads in total. The memory is built-in and cannot be upgraded.

This Chromebook is fantastic for the price
4/5

This review is quite lengthy. In conclusion, you get more than you pay for. Nothing is top-of-the-line in this package, but it is very usable at a low price. the- However, you will receive a nice, compact machine for web-based work. activity that is based on br>br>I'm using a Chromebook for the first time. In the past, I've used Toshiba and Lenovo Macs and laptops. I chose a Chromebook because I primarily use it to email, browse pages, Zoom, and watch YouTube videos. I'll document everything I need to do. Google is capable of covering wise. The device's small size and long battery life are significant advantages. I'm sick of my bags being ripped apart by large, heavy laptops. br>br>This Chromebook is 2-pounds. 1/4 . The weight is lbs, which is fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere because it's about the size of a magazine. Plastic is used for the body, which is long-lasting and easy to clean. It's not as nice as metal, but it's a good substitute. The bottom panel is a tad sloppy, but that's a minor quibble. br>br>The battery life is exactly what it claims to be. Depending on what you do, you can get up to 10 hours of battery life, which is more than twice as long as any other laptop I've used. br>br>The screen rotates to a 135-degree angle (or 45-degree angle against the tabletop). I was disappointed that it did not open to a full 180 degrees, but that is something I can live with. The screen brightness is listed as 220 nits (on the low end), but don't be put off by this. It has the same brightness as my 8-year-old Macbook and my work-issued Lenovo laptop. It's fine for indoor use, but you'll need to find some shade if you're working outside. The display quality isn't great, but it's adequate for most purposes. It's an IPS screen, which means it has better viewing angles and color reproduction. The 11. Watching videos and reading the news on a 6" screen is plenty of space. This is also a touch screen, which appears to work fine in my limited experience. I can type this review and read my email side by side. It's nice to just browse on the touchscreen while lying down with the Chromebook on my chest. I've downloaded a couple of Android games, and they're really fun to play on the touchscreen. If you want to use Android apps, I recommend investing in a touch screen. br>br>The keyboard is a good size for me, and I'm typing quickly and accurately. The majority of the keys are in the expected locations. Chrome's specialized keys do not cause any issues. The keys have a pleasant, upbeat response. The trackpad, which has a full set of gestures for scrolling, zooming, and viewing apps, is just as responsive. One thing I noticed is that you can only click on the bottom half of the touchpad physically, but I usually tap to click. br>br>The on-line version of the on-line version of the on-line version of the on-line version of The on-board speakers are a pleasant surprise, as they are both loud and clear. They may be a little tinny for an audiophile, but I can listen to music for hours with just these speakers. When I turn the volume all the way up, there is very little distortion. There is, of course, a headphone jack as well as Bluetooth support. If you install a lot of apps, 32 gigs of memory may become a problem. On its own, the Chrome System consumes approximately 13 GB. I've put in a 128 GB Micro SD card, which can be used for storage by Android apps that support it. I can, for example, save music from Youtube Music to my SD card, as well as documents from the Text editor and Camera app. br>br>In terms of the processor, I haven't done anything yet that has put it to the test. I usually only have a few tabs and apps open at any given time, and I only play a few games. Remember that this is the same processor that powers the nearly universally praised Lenovo Duet Chromebook, so it's no slouch. br>br>The 720p webcam is suitable for web conferencing, taking photos, and video recording. With the indoor lighting, it's a bit grainy. People seem to be able to hear me fine when I use the internal microphone, but it works best if you sit directly in front of the computer. When you expand the volume options in the wifi/battery/time options, you can adjust the mic input. br>br>Another cool feature is that you can charge this Chromebook with a phone charger (if you have the proper cable). It's a time-consuming process that must be completed while the Chromebook is turned off. Using a basic phone charger, I was able to get 2015% per hour. If you're traveling and don't want to carry the cumbersome power supply that comes with this Chromebook, it might be a good option. br>br>I am satisfied with my purchase overall. This is a good value package that performs well.

This is an excellent example of how to read fine print
3/5

First and foremost, I'd like to state that this laptop performed admirably in terms of mechanics. It was sent by a company that was also very quick, arriving ahead of schedule. Why am I returning positivity now that it has been removed? br>br>Say what you want about me, but I had no idea this device was running a different operating system. I was looking for a cheap laptop to do some word processing on at the time. This is not possible with Chrome OS. It could be useful in some ways, but it was built to be primarily an internet browser. Is there a phone in your possession? Your phone, on the other hand, can perform all of the functions that this device can. Why would anyone want a laptop that has fewer features than a phone? br>br>A wide range of operating systems are supported by many software programs. They don't work with Chrome OS at the moment. You are unable to download them in any way. I've heard you can download apps (though I haven't tried it myself), but that'll be the only program downloading you'll be able to do. This brings me to my last complaint: the device is essentially an online-only device. br>br>Just as a browser cannot function without internet, this device appears to be completely reliant on it, and it even crashed when I tried to delete the only wifi connection it had. (As a side note, there is no way to factory reset this device; there is no option to do so, so take that as you will. ) ) When you turn on this device for the first time, it will force you to connect to the internet. You can skip entering your Google account information, but you won't be able to proceed if you don't have access to the internet. br>br>In a nutshell: With Chrome OS, you won't be able to do anything. This is nothing compared to what your phone can do.

This Cute Little Guy Is Amazing! I only use a computer for personal purposes, such as sending and receiving e-mails
5/5

e-mails, facebook, and other miscellaneous items Once a week, there will be a Zoom meeting. I'm 72 years old, and I needed a laptop that was lighter and smaller than my dinosaur. This is exactly what I was looking for. It's lighter than a book, has a long battery life, is easily portable due to its size and weight, and I can leave it on the deck for hours without it running out of juice. I enjoy using the touchscreen, and switching from Windows to Chrome OS was relatively simple. The only thing it lacked was a backlit keyboard, but because it's white and has a white keyboard, it's easy to see even in low light. It's incredibly simple to use and transport, and it easily holds all of the files that my old computer had downloaded- That's a lot of information! I really like it!.

FOR ME, THIS IS PERFECT! It's critical to remember that this is a Chromebook, not a full-fledged computer
5/5

As a result, it's possible that this will be significantly smaller than anticipated. br>I, for one, am a huge fan of this Chromebook, regardless of its size. It performs admirably and is of reasonable quality. So far, there have been no issues with charging, battery life, crashing, or other issues. My only wish is for better sound quality, as it does not get very loud. I use it for crafting (Design Space app, emails, saving photos, etc. ) and it has plenty of storage space for me. I would also recommend it to students looking for a small laptop with a keyboard.

When it works, it's great
3/5

The Chromebook is great, but it restarts on its own every day. It's only been a month since I received it. The MicroSD card slot appears to be too close to the power cord slot, in my opinion. I use my thumb on the side of the Chromebook to pull the power cord out (the spot where the MicroSD card slot is), which results in the card being uninstalled; there's no other way to carefully remove the power cord. I've had several Chromebooks and never had issues until this one.

Maybe there's a problem with the screen
4/5

I wasn't aware of how small it was, but it's a nice laptop. The screen did go black for a full day, despite the fact that it was charged and everything, but for some strange reason it came back on; that's the only issue I've had with it.
