I bought this add-on board with acrylic case to add a simple USB A adapter to a new Raspberry Pi Zero W project, and I'm very pleased with it. Installation was simple and straightforward, even though there were no specific instructions included with the case. br>br>After installation, you'll need to make changes to /boot/cmdline. txt and config. Toggle dwc2 overlay and g_ether with this txt file. Those specific steps can be found in a variety of guides. The Pi will appear as a network connection to the host machine once it is set up and connected, allowing connectivity over the Gadget Ethernet network. It can also connect to the host OS's shared internet.
My edge cracked (right at the CPU cutout), but it was my own fault because I was twisting it as I was removing the paper. Apart from being upside down, as others have pointed out, it works well. br>br>Apart from that, it's very simple to use.
VENDOR RESOLVED* There are no instructions. It is going to snap. UPDATE (which is long overdue): br>br>Vendor responded quickly and dispatched a replacement unit. I was able to install it without too much difficulty this time. br>br>- Leaving a previous review to assist other buyers in making an informed decision- br>br>Came without instructions, which would have been nice because they could have warned me that once you put it on, it will fall apart. It's one thing to have ridiculously low-cost POS, but what about not providing any guidance?.
It does exactly what it says it is going to do. It's very simple to set up and use. I've bought it a couple of times since then. The most challenging aspect of using this is removing the protective paper.
Stacking on the pi zero was a breeze. It not only powers the Pi, but it also allows you to host virtual USB devices if that's what you're looking for.
directly image your Pi Love it. Allows me to load images for the Raspberry Pi by plugging directly into my computer.
The case has some flaws. Because they attempted to provide heatsink bays, the top of the case kind of crumbled on me. Except for "ricing," this part is unlikely to require a heatsink. The board is impressive in and of itself. Pogo- USB power rails and USB OTG access to a host computer are provided by pin connections to the test points. That's intriguing, as is the manner in which they went about it and provided good and adequate hardware for the base configuration. All of this contributed to the four-star rating. The clumsy "case," which should've been made of heavier acryllic or polycarbonate, as well as better hardware to assemble it with, knocks it down from a five. Want to do a clean OTG project with a PiZero or PiZeroW? The basic model is an excellent method of accomplishing this.
I liked the product, but I still despise command lines. It's well made and a good deal, but I recommend attaching a lanyard or wearing it as a necklace because if it falls off your desk, it's game over. The heatsink, on the other hand, flew off and smacked my wife's boss in the face, so there's a silver lining.
