Questions & Answers

Once noctua has made the nh- They're getting my money, u12a in black. ?

I, for one, am a proud owner of a fugly-looking pet. I use only brown noctua fans in my build (except for the 2x 3000rpm industrial nh-1). f12s on my morpheus ii 1080ti are a little much, but I have an insane overclock on it to keep it current until 30 series gpus sell for retail cost.) br>br>I am so proud of these fnas, in fact, that I used my RGB to highlight them as a primary feature: ) They convey to everyone who sees them that I take my cooling seriously, but that I am not a die-hard hydro-ponics enthusiast. cultist or other sociopath who is dangerous. It's a recipe for disaster when you use liquid cooling. Every dam will eventually fail, and with human error, it will happen sooner. br>br>My Ryzen 5950x is on its way, and I'm excited to put it to the test. It has uh12a on it, as well as the new nt-compliant nt-compliant nt-compliant nt- I already have some h2 thermal paste on hand. Others have already proven it to be viable, and any flaws will be addressed with this cooler and liquid metal thermal compound (I'd buy the d15, but my case is about 2mm short of having enough room).

Will the new fans be available in chromax for use with the cooler?

Yes, but that's still a long way off - Because the material is so delicate, it's difficult to change the color of those fans.

What are the chances that the board will bend due to the weight of this?

This was purchased as a replacement for my larger, older model NH-D. D14. With the NH-, I don't see any bending or visible flex. After 9 years of horizontal mounting on the same motherboard, the D14 has proven to be a tank of a cooler. Premium air coolers are simply enormous, and I had the same concern when I built my house all those years ago. It will work just fine if you make sure your motherboard is securely fastened.

Is there any pre-applied thermal paste?

No, it comes with a tube of thermal paste that can be used for multiple applications.

I'm not a fan
3/5

I was ecstatic to receive the U12A as a replacement for my U12S. When I compared my U12S (which I already had the new A12 fans on) to the new A12 fans, I only saw a 1C drop in delta temperature. If you don't already have A12 fans, I believe this cooler will only be an improvement.

This is excellent equipment
4/5

For my first build, I chose this over the nh d15 because it supposedly offers comparable cooling in a smaller package. A vertically mounted mobo should have as little weight as possible hanging off of it. It's simple to mount. br>br> Apply the backplate to the cpu through the pre-drilled holes and screw in the spacers and hardware on the front (AMD). (Intel hardware is used in both cases. ) It was a little tricky to put the heatsink on because you can't tell if you're seated correctly due to the spring tension on the screws, and you can't see very well. It's not a major issue. Simply do not fully tighten one side; instead, wait until both screws have caught before screwing both sides down. Fan mounting is simple; if you have a tall memory, you can mount the fans as high as you want as long as the heatsink isn't in the way. I can see my rgb RAM sticks once more! I've always wished for a top-of-the-line air conditioner
5/5

the- I wanted to use a Noctua cooler, but I didn't want the massive heatsinks and fans to block half of my build. The NH- U12A is ideal for the job! The fans are very quiet and keep my CPU at low temperatures, so installation was a breeze. My RGB memory sticks are still visible, which is the most important thing!.

The NH- U12A gave me a quarter of a pound
5/5

According to my memory, the NH- has 3/8 inch () more space. U12S. As previously stated, it is overpriced, and if you own the NH-100, it is even more so. U12S - "If you're not going to play games, don't upgrade. " The NH- The U12S was too close to my memory sticks, but the NH-S was perfect. U12A gave me a quarter of a pound. There's an extra 3/8 inch of space. In addition, I dropped 3C while idle and 4C while gaming. I only have one fan (a 120mm Cooler Master Jet Flo) spinning at 2000 rpms, pushing out 95 CFM. It really works. I use my BIOS to control all six of my fans, so I don't need any speed-control software. The fans were controlled by cables that were connected to the fans. In the event that the NH- The NH-U12A was just as vivid in my mind as the NH-U12A. I would have returned it the same day I received it, if it had been a U12S. Overall, I am a big fan of the New Hampshire-based company. The U12A is a cooler. A Chromax cover for this cooler is required by Noctua. br>br>Recent changes - 9 April 2019br>br>While completing the NH-100, Since the 29th of March, 2019, U12A has been a cooler. It's been an excellent addition to my computer. br>br>I have an i7-based computer. EVGA 1080 Ti SC2, EVGA Z370 Classified (gaming), 8086K (4Ghz (5Ghz OC) My CPU is set to Auto (in BIOS), which allows the CPU multiplier to run the CPU at speeds ranging from 4Ghz to 4Ghz. Without OC'ing, you can run at 6GHz when the system demands it. I can only run one CPU fan as a result of this. According to the MOBO CPU LED readout, my temperatures peak at 53C while gaming and drop to 33C when idle. If I decide to overclock to 5GHz later, I'll add the second fan (DO NOT OC with only one CPU fan). br>br>Upgrade to the NH-PC if you plan to play games on your PC. If your PC case won't let you use the NH-U12A, use U12A instead. D15. My NH- was due to be returned. Because my case was just a smidgeon smaller than the cooler, I went with D15. I had the option of keeping the NH- D15 if I had left the PC door open, but it would have looked terrible for a variety of reasons.

One of the most effective air-conditioning systems on the market
5/5

On the market, there are a variety of coolers to choose from. I was thinking about water-cooled computers when I was putting together the components for my most recent computer build. cooling the I9 CPU, but instead chose to experiment with air-cooling. Enter the Noctua NH-100, which will help you cool down first. The U12A was designed to provide better clearance over the market's taller RAM DIMMs, according to online reviews. When I test-fitted this cooler onto an I9 running on an ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme motherboard, it appeared to fit well with some RAM DIMM slot overlap. The forward fan, unfortunately, does not clear my DIMMs, but there is a clever workaround. Because of the way Noctua mounts these fans to the radiator, they can be raised a half-inch, which did the trick. Everything is in place and functions without a hitch. Instead of replacing the brown fans, I installed a 120mm Phanteks Lux RGB fan frame that plugs into the Aura port on the motherboard and computer case to provide an integrated look and mask the brown fan. In terms of cooling, I put my system through some overclocking stress tests and found that the Noctua air-cooled radiators performed admirably. While overclocking the CPU to around 5 GHz, the cooler kept the temperature below 70 degrees Celsius. The overall airflow through your case will affect your results; I'm using the Phanteks Evolv X with the glass doors closed and getting excellent airflow. A word of caution: the NH- Because the U12A is tall, you might have clearance issues in a narrower computer case if you offset the front fan higher. Inside the Evolv X, this offset is fine.

With a small footprint, you can have an amazing performance
5/5

It accomplishes the purpose for which it was created. D15 performance in a more compact package. Even in an open air case, the fans are extremely quiet, even at 2000rpms. The best part is that it now fits in my Core P3 with the glass attached. The old D15 cooler could only be used with a single fan in the center of the towers. With the Core P3 and large memory, I couldn't get dual 140s. This is the cooler to get if you're concerned about space. br>br>After 2 hours of prime95 stress on this cooler, an 8700k delidded at 5GHz reaches 65 degrees. D15 was able to reach a score of 63 points. 64c. So, for the size of this cooler, that's fantastic. CONS - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative" and "paraphrase. " There are no chromax covers on the hearsink and the fans are brown. NOCTUA has not responded to my request for an update on when those will be available.
