Questions & Answers

Is thermal paste included in this unit?

Yes, NT-, it does. H1 high- thermal compound of the highest quality

Is this something that can be done with Fractal Design R5?

If you're using R5 with ram that isn't "compatible" (too tall), all you have to do is raise the front fan a little higher and everything will be fine. R5 is wide enough to accommodate both standard and extended fan layouts.

Is this compatible with the NZXT H440 case?

It ought to be an ideal fit. br>This cooler is 165mm tall, with a 180mm clearance between it and the case CPU cooler.

Is this cooler compatible with a MSI LGA2011-based motherboard? Motherboard Intel Core i7-4790K V3 X99S GAMING 9 ACK Express/EATX V3 X99S GAMING 9 ACK Express/EATX V3 X99S GAMING 9 ACK Express/EATX 5930K?

Greetings, George. I recently purchased the MSI X99A SLI PLUS with an Intel Core i7-4790K processor. 5820k, which is the same socket as your motherboard and processor. It's not only compatible, but it also keeps my CPU cooler than my friend's custom liquid cpu cooler. The Noctua NH- is a product that I strongly recommend. D15! With the i9 9900k, it works perfectly
5/5

I've decided to pair the Noctua NH- with the Noctua NH-. The D15 performs admirably with the i9 9900k. All of my 8-core CPUs are running at 5 GHz. cores with an average idle temperature of 32°F to 40°F Temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees Fahrenheit are forecasted. During gaming, the temperature should be kept at 65 degrees C. It's usually in the 40s for other workloads. The temperature is in the range of 49 degrees Celsius. Because it is a high-quality thermal paste, I would also recommend using the Noctua supplied thermal paste. non-toxic paste of high quality It worked with Corsair's Dominator Platinum RGB memory and was also conductive. The only change I had to make was to move the first fan to the opposite end of the heatsink, which had no negative impact on performance. If you prefer air-cooled heatsinks, Look no further if you enjoy cooling as much as I do and want exceptional cooling. I also have to commend Noctua on their excellent material packaging. They use a lot of padded protective material to protect all of the components in the box, and everything comes in a fairly rigid cardboard box that protects the contents of the packaging. The product itself, as well as the packaging in which it is delivered, screams quality. If I ever build another system, I'm going to get another NH- D15 is a company that consistently produces high-quality products.

Water has been replaced
5/5

This air cooler outperformed my old Corsair H100i v2 in terms of cooling efficiency, noise, quality, and most importantly, overall space consumption (no tubes or radiators blocking case sides). At the very least, I'll get a score of 8 out of 10. This thing is 10 degrees cooler than water, and it isn't even running at full speed. Not that the water cooler was bad, but depending on how you set up your case cooling, you should consider your options. br>br>It's great that this thing fits so many different socket types; if I decide to switch to AMD, all I have to do is swap out the mounts instead of buying a new kit. The hardware has excellent build quality; none of the components appear to be cheap or poorly made. Even though it appears to be far too large to fit in the socket, assembly and installation are simple. Some people may be concerned about CPU/socket strain, but I'd compare it to the old AIO in this regard; the tubes on it definitely put strain on the socket. br>br>If the interior appearance of your case isn't important to you, you should seriously consider purchasing this item. br>If the interior appearance of your case is important to you, look for the Chromax product line to go with it. br>br>If you're not sure about the optional secondary fan, place a 140mm case fan on top of your RAM (vertically, as if it were on the cooler above the RAM). You're probably fine if it still clears the side of your case by a few millimeters. Using Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks and a slight offset of the optional fan, I had plenty of headroom in the Air 540, despite the 170mm clearance stated on the box. Both 140mm fans are almost completely adjustable; they move/notch up and down on wire clips that are attached to the heatsink fins. br>br>The fans are 140mm in diameter with 120mm mounts, most likely to allow for the addition of a 120mm fan as an option for those with taller RAM. br>br>It also comes with thermal paste, or at least it did when I bought it. br>br>Keywords to aid in fitting searches:

There's no need to keep looking
5/5

Buy it! In terms of performance, craftsmanship, and ease of installation, it takes the top spot in every category. I recently decided to replace my Corsair H60 Push/Pull setup with a new one. I purchased it when I had an AMD 8350 FX processor. When I upgraded to an i7 4790k two years ago, the H60 performed admirably. Because of the i7's higher thermals, it's not as strong as the AMD. br>br>After conducting extensive research, I determined that a Noctua cooler would be my next PC upgrade. I didn't know what to expect because I'd never bought a Noctua cooler before, but my research reading reviews and watching videos gave me a good idea, and the quality appeared to be excellent. So, once I made my decision, all I had to do was find a model that was compatible with my motherboard and CPU socket. I went to Noctua's website to see if it was compatible with my Gigabyte Z97X UD5H Black Edition board, and it was. It easily clears the ram channels. So I placed an order for it. Arrival: br>br>Departure: br>br>Departure: br>br>De So, when I received the package from Amazon, I didn't realize how big it was. When I first opened it, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Noctua uses excellent packaging. Each component is individually packaged, and the entire contents is encased in foam. The business has gone to great lengths to ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition. br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>I took everything out of the box and put it together. I took a look at the instructions for my chipset 1150 and started dismantling my old cooler. To be honest, it took me longer to remove the H60 from my system than it did to remove the NH-100. D15 is up and running. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow, and they show two different ways to orient the radiating tower so you can choose the best method for your case and hardware. The brackets are well-crafted and entirely made of metal. Because there is no plastic on the board or chipset, you can rest assured that it will not flex. It will be secured to a sturdy back plate. On mine, I moved the fans to the left so that I wouldn't encroach on any wiring and risk nicking a cable and breaking a fan blade later. br>br>Operations: br>br> br>br>As soon as I turned on my computer, I was completely taken aback. Never before have I heard a computer that was completely silent. Nonetheless, it was there. Nothing, not the GPU, not the CPU, and not my SSDs, has made a peep of sound since I've been up and running. It was nearly enough to make me nervous. I needed to inspect the interior to ensure that everything was in working order. I've been building computers for 16 years and as a system administrator, I've never heard anything so quiet. br>br>Execution: br>br>Execution: br>br>Exe The point at which the road meets the rubber. After all, that is why I bought it. So I used Autodesk 3DS Max as my first test to see how well it worked. I started a render scene in one of my programs. The H60 used to scream when running an HD render of a simulated model. I started my first render and kept an eye on the temperatures, as well as the sound level and fan load. The fans didn't say anything, and if the RPM and demand increased, they didn't tell me. My system's temperature: br>br> br>br>After a few hours of break-in and booting up after installation - br>br>Minutes of Idleness - 18Cbr>Maximal Temperature: 18Cbr> 57C (During Rendering at Maximum CPU Utilization)br>Average Temperature: 20Cbr>br>Those temperatures looked great, so I went ahead and played some games. I began by playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Vbr>br>Starting up took less than a minute, and loading took about the same amount of time. Earlier this week, I switched all of my games to a dedicated SSD. Temps at their highest during GTA- V at its most extreme. 48C. My GPU is 20 degrees warmer than my processor. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could convince NOCTUA to make a GPU cooler for me. It's an unbelievable performance. br>br>This cooler is recommended if your case and board can support it. On the air cooler market, I do not believe there is anything better. In my opinion, the quality, design, installation ease, and performance are all a perfect 5. Without a doubt, I'll use a Noctua cooler when I build my next rig.
