As there were enough spots in the hub for me to use, I didn't need the lighting node pro.
Hello, there is an MSATA cable adapter included inside that is already plugged in, so you just need to connect it to the power supply that charges the SATA cable you use for the hard drive or SSD.
The item has corsair logo on it but, in order to use it to control your corsair LED fans, you must own a lighting node pro, which is based on the power to control your fan light sources. A lighting node is paired with a lighting hub, which is also available. In addition to these, Corsair makes an LED lighting hub that is not dependent on lighting nodes. There is not much difference between the two hubs. This newer version has a female USB plug that plugs into your motherboard (the lighting node has the female USB plug), if your fans are powered by your motherboard, otherwise it should be plugged into the Corsair Commander Pro, which powers corsair fans AND controls
