Despite having to file out the holes for the SMA connectors, it fits the HackRF just fine. I had square connectors for my HackRF, so the round holes in the endcaps did not fit.
If you use this case, the HackerRF One will be protected (although the antenna connections would still potentially be damaged, since they do not connect to the case), and perhaps EMI shielding can be accomplished (I have not tested this). Although, I don't have to explain to the building security why I've got a black box with the word Hacker on it since I can plug it into my own laptop without having that fun conversation that you will HAVE. There is only one real downside to this enclosure, and that is that the LEDs are hard to see, as they don't stick out.
A good fit is achieved with the case. Although I thought it might lower RF noise, I'm not sure it did as much as I expected. The result has been an improved hackRF that is more robust than There may also be a need for one of these cases to have a screw-in USB cable port to guard against damaging the fragile micro-SD card There are USB ports on most computers. In high-end SDR cases like those used for Signal Hound, they are quite common.
With the addition of the TXCO, shield kit and metal case, my HackRF One has become much more complete. The cost was well worth it. It is highly recommended that, if you have the original plastic case, you upgrade to this.
I am great Scott Gadgets) HackRF One. I like the solidity of this The labeling on the case is excellent. It's good to have real rubber feet instead of plastic ones (which I wouldn't have expected).
Filled down some if it wasn't perfect but I was able to fix it. There was probably just a slight difference in the size of the board.
Suitable for use with the Hackrf one and the Tiny TCXO from Nooelec. The issue is not an issue.
