The first SSD I've ever used, I've gone through 7 Western Digital and Samsung external USB drives in the last five years. I own only one other external drive, so this is by far the best. I cannot predict how long it will last. As long as it's attached to my computer, I don't need to worry about it. My internal SSD is 512GB and contains only my operating system and applications. I have a really fast drive. There are all my image files on this external hard drive. As long as new technology does not come along, this is the best configuration I've used to date.
