It was bought for my wife who is constantly switching between laptops and is just looking for an old-fashioned KVM with switches or buttons. I found this one to check all those boxes, and it's been working great. Powered up my computer with a USB cable It is Both laptops are now using her dual monitor setup after we set up an HDMI splitter. In terms of design, the only thing I don't like is that the cables are on opposite sides of the box, so there's never an optimal place to put it so that cables do not protrude. However, I would have preferred if they had been all in the back, so the button could look great on the desk - it's just a nice touch. All the important aspects are addressed by it.

I used it to connect my laptop to my desktop when my laptop is docked to the same station. It didn't work for me. I tried using a software solution via network, but it turned out I didn't like My software sometimes connects my two devices when I am in a different room (sharing a keyboard and mouse). My Logitech G910 (Mechanical RGB keyboard) is located on my desktop and my laptop, so I opted to use this as a solution to share it between them. It is a pleasure doing business with you. It has been pointed out to me that others have complained of a "whine" but I hear nothing out of mine. It appears to be working fine. Pros Three USB ports are used. USB 0 is not supported. If I want to use a USB 3, I will need to connect in USB 2. With a USB 3. 0 storage drive that can be shared between computers without having to fiddle with network shares, you can share files with ease! A seamless transition between devices is possible (almost). A digital switch times out after having switched between devices a fraction of a second. I can only connect this device to the USB 3 port on which it is connected. I have no ports on either my laptop or desktop Both of them seem to provide enough power to operate my keyboard, mouse, and storage drive.

I highly recommend this product. I also recommend using some decent 2-in-1 adapters if you can afford them. To keep the tape from sliding around, use wax paper or sticky tape.

This product does it almost exactly what I needed for my setup. This module works as expected with a 5V power supply (supported but not included) for steady power regardless of whether either computer is powered on or off. But I have Razer I/O devices that you can customize the lighting on. Since I prefer the effect of the lights rising and falling in brightness and since I don't need the backlight on all the time in use, I've set them up this way. As the effect begins and when the lights start going on, there seems to be a faint, very high pitched whine coming from the switch, which stops when the lights are turned off again. If I turn the entire brightness down, I'll be able to dull the sound a bit and if I turn them off, I'll be able to completely stop it. When you plan on using the switch with a device that requires constant current, such as a high definition enclosure, you may have to position it somewhere that's quite isolated if your enclosure works like mine. I felt a headache in the first few minutes until I became aware of the sound and figured out what was happening. A tower fan is almost indiscernible over the noise, but the sound is piercing nevertheless.

Simple to use, no learning curve! As I was searching for a device to transfer multiple USB devices between computers, this was exactly what I needed. It features a USB KVM switch as well as two USB cables that can connect up to two In front of the KVM switch, you can plug up to 4 USB devices that you want to share. When the two USB cables supplied with the switch are connected to your computers (or other devices), the KVM switch automatically turns on. To move all 4 USB devices, you press the button located on top of the tray. This allows transferring among computers 1 and 2, or 2 and My USB device is plugged into the front and I have no issues using it. a Micro USB power option on the front you can use if you need to power any of the device(s) you plug in. As far as USB 2 is concerned, it works fine. There is no USB 3. 0 ports, so if you do not have one, you will not be able to use it. Don't worry, there's nothing to worry about!.

Therefore, I figured the price is good enough to give it a shot. This switch box has good reviews and I need a new one for my setup. I ordered it and it showed up the next day at my When you get it in place, it works great. Just unpack it and hook it up. I was expecting it to be much bigger, but it turns out it's actually quite small. You will find cords coming out of the front and back, but other than that, it looks like it will work without a hitch. It might have worked better with a power cable, but I did abuse the button for 5 minutes and it was fine. I did not use the power cord, so it was fine for me. The trackball and keyboard switch are just two separate devices. I am happy with how this thing works for me. There was a thank you note on the card as well, which made me smile.

A 3 gang switch is perfect for me since it is small, doesn't take up much space, and has a really 3-gang design. The program works like a charm. As I wanted to use the same keyboard on both my older and new computer, I wanted to use the same keyboard on both. In spite of my desire not to move some software to the new computer, I want to occasionally use some programs on the old one. In addition to file transfers, I needed to connect to the old computer to copy files back and forth, but Win10 wouldn't let me connect. One of the ports is plugged in with a thumb drive, and when I want to use the old computer, it switches the keyboard and the thumb drive. I found a solution to the problem!.
