Thank you so much for your inquiry, *br>Dear Customer. I would like to thank you for all your support to Ugreen, especially the idea of connecting two computers to a USB device (one printer). You are welcome to contact us if you require any additional information. A member of the UGREEN
I apologize for my delayed response. This usb sharing switch is so that 2 computers can share only 1 usb device, whereas the sleeker one supports 2 computers that can share 4 usb devices. *br>Thank you for your inquiry.
In addition to my switcher, we have two computers and one large printer (plotter). That worked beautifully! Thanks a lot for your efforts! I am mechanical engineer, not an electrical engineer, don't know about "bus power isolation" or "backfeeding".

I couldn't get the switch to work after the first few clicks. I left it wondering whether it would work (I'm not sure it ever did)
I Does it seem like it's Originally, I thought that I had simply switched the I knew there was an LED to indicate which side was 'on' before I saw the LED on the front of the switch. And no it did not change. A RECENT UPDATE As a result of the review I posted above, I received an email from Ugreen asking if they could replace the item. In response, I explained I had scrapped the defective switch and could not return it for a refund since I had scrapped it. My surprise was when they replied that it was no problem, we'd send you a new switch anyway (for free).
In light of these results, I received the replacement switch this morning and installed it. Here's what I got to I love it. It does the job great. ". The other one didn't work as well as this one. My fingers are crossed, and I'll let you know if it doesn't work. In the absence of updates, the application will function normally. I have changed the rating from two stars to five.
My work is done from home, and I use two separate computers (one for work and one for personal use), as well as several others who do the same. I had been using two different sets of Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combos, and I kept the two on my desk at all times, removing the one to use my other computer when I needed to look something up. After doing some research, it looked like this could be an excellent I almost smacked myself for not getting this sooner - it's one of those things that I've been wanting for so long. In fact, all I had to do was plug in one of the little Logitech USB transmitters, then set up the USB cables to run to each of my PCs, and I can switch between them with a single Having it free up some space on my desk has been a great help to me.
It is time to downgrade my rating to a 4 From a 4 star review to a 3 star review. The switch drops its signal for a fraction of a second every so often. Despite its short length, it is long enough to cause many tasks to become frustrating. For example, it may not affect when typing or moving the mouse cursor around. Keyboards that require holding down a key are affected, but clickers are at the forefront of this problem By holding the mouse button, you will see the menu. The act of dragging a window around or the act of highlighting text are a few examples. I also find photo editing to be a major hassle. Occasionally, it tricks it into considering a single click as two clicks. While holding the space bar temporarily unmutes in Zoom meetings, I have noticed that the Un-mute function is taken care of in As I physically hold down the spacebar, I see a muted icon flicker on and off rapidly. I am no longer having problems when I bypass the switch and connect directly to my hub. It's the same monitor that I use on my desktop as well as my A four-wheel drive system is integrated into it My main goal was to switch between workstations using a simple USB hub with a number of ports. While minimizing clutter, this accomplishes what it sets out to do. Thanks to the use of discrete LEDs, the blue LEDs in the housing indicate which side is active. They do not cause distractions or are a visual annoyance even in a darkened room. As long as the lid of the computer is open, this switch will switch over from the desktop to the laptop even though the desktop continues to run. So, if I am using my desktop and open the lid of my laptop, it will continue to work on the laptop. The design of this unit seems odd to me, but since I usually just use one workstation at a time, it's not a problem.
Now that I've used it for a little over a month, I find that it meets all my needs. The way I do it is with a 4-inch tape measure My desktop computer has a four-port USB hub connected to it, so I can connect both my work and personal computers to it. As a rule, I'm only using one computer at a time. This way, when I hook up the computer, the switch is set to that computer and I don't have to do anything to use the In the case where I have both computers on and I want to switch to the other, I sometimes have to press the button twice before the switch is effected. It's kind of annoying, but I can still make it work. The naming of the "input/output" seems to be reversed, at least as far as I can see. As I understand it, the switch receives input from computers and devices, and sends that connection to the computer. I think of the device as the input to the switch, and the switch as sending the output Ultimately, I don't care if one side is referred to as "foo" and the other as "bar", so long as it works the way it should. The answer is yes!.
A few weeks ago, I built a server and needed to be able to switch between it and my home PC without closing my browser. This is used in combination with the EagleTec HUB3639 USB 2 hub because I did not want to purchase an expensive KVM switch. (Black Color, 9mm Ultra Slim Size) Hub with 4 ports. With the help of speakers, my computer's keyboard, and my mouse, I connected my usb sound card. As soon as I need to work on my server, they all switch over with the click of a button. This is a beautiful sight.
For the price point, this app works well, with a good balance of functionality and simplicity. I bought it to make my work more efficient Based on - An example of a home set up The mouse will appear once you click it It is possible to share a keyboard. It wasn't necessary to use external power like some of the others, which is why I select it. There is a simple LED indicator that indicates switching when the switch has been made. There does appear to be automatic updating The switch switches when a new device is detected, and so far I haven't had a problem with it acting up. It might be a nit that I have with this product, but the placement of the USB ports might be an issue. If all the ports were on one side, I would prefer to be able to access all buttons from one side for better cable management. I found most of the other options I found to be too expensive or had additional PC connections I did not need, had an unattractive design, or required external power (therefore an extra Since I've only used this device with a mouse, I haven't been able to test it out . My experience with it has been with a tablet and keyboard only I cannot say how it performs on any other device. You might want to unplug your mouse or keyboard if it has the ability to store an onboard map. If your mouse/keyboard is compatible with key mapping software, you can store your onboard map. If you switch to a computer without the software (such as your work computer), you will need to plug the device back in before the device will register and run The only USB device port on the laptop can be easily expanded with a USB hub even though there is only one on the device. If you need to buy a USB hub to complete your setup, you would have to If there is any follow-up work, that would be a cost. My original one was on hand, so I used it.
