Correct; the computer that isn't in use assumes that the devices aren't connected. When you switch, devices may take a few moments to recognize you. As if you had just plugged them in for the first time. br>br>By the way, it works great. This is how I switch between two devices with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I've also had great success with thumb drives and USB headphones. It has made me very happy.
It has a microUSB charging port. There is no cable or wall plug included.
I've had the opportunity to play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. With no discernible input lag in GO and other games. I use a Corsair K70 and a Logitech G502, so I'm sure the Razer keyboard and mouse will work fine.

0 is fantastic. With a minor performance hit, the switch to 0 is made. This USB 3. 0 port is what I use. To share multiple devices between a Windows desktop and a Surface Book 2 laptop, use the 0 switch. Switching back and forth is a breeze. This model uses a (not included) micro USB power supply to power the devices, preventing hard drives and other more sensitive electronics from losing power during a switch. It's compatible with a Samsung T5 1TB SSD and a Drobo C USB 3. 0 storage device. I have attached an ATTO benchmark of Samsung T5 SSD transfer speeds when directly connected to a Surface Book 2, as well as through the UGREEN switch, and through the UGREEN switch without external power. br>br>I am also accessing the switch through the Microsoft Surface Dock with no issues. br>br>I have attached an ATTO benchmark of Samsung T5 SSD transfer speeds when directly connected to a Surface Book 2, as well as through the UGREEN switch, and through the UGREEN switch without When going through the switch at the very high end of maximum USB 3. 0 speeds, these results show a 35 MB/s drop in maximum sustained write speeds. 0 speeds. When using the slower Drobo Hard Disk array, which averages around 190MB/s R/W both through the switch and directly connected to the PC, there is no discernible difference. While it's a little annoying to lose any performance in this way, the convenience the switch provides more than compensates for the performance loss. br>br>The only other features I'd like to see on this switch are auto switching when one device is disconnected and switch control from connected PCs. It would also be nice if it came with a USB power supply rather than requiring me to bring my own. br>br>UPDATE: November 14th, 2018: So far, there have been no issues with data corruption. So far, the Drobo hasn't had any issues with being switched between computers several times per day.
The switch does not provide electrical isolation between the two computers it connects. This can lead to hardware failure and shorting; don't buy it; it's dangerous (it's not UL listed or CE endorsed - HAZARD OF FIRE!.
This device was purchased so that I could use the same keyboard and mouse on two computers (a Dell desktop and an HP laptop). As long as both computers are "awake," it appears to work. However, even if I unplug and re-plug every cable, USB, and power cord, when one computer goes to sleep, it will lose the ability to detect the keyboard or mouse. When the keyboard and mouse are directly connected to the computer, this will never happen. br>br>When this happens, the only solution I've found is to connect a different keyboard and mouse to that computer, or to turn off BOTH computers, wait a few minutes, then turn on only the one that's having issues. Of course, I can't keep switching between my computers every 5 minutes to keep them awake, so this device is pointless for me. It appears to be a simple matter, but according to Amazon comments, none of these devices work properly for everyone. I'm guessing they all have the same faulty internal hardware. Unfortunately, having two keyboards and two mice would have been preferable.
Update: 12/2/2021br>br>I've been using this switch for nearly three years, switching between personal and work computers every weekday, sometimes multiple times a day, and moving it to a new desk setup during that time, and it's worked and continues to work flawlessly. Even if it fails tomorrow, I am very happy with this device and cannot recommend it highly enough. Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>O br>br>At my home office desk, where I also use my personal computer, I installed a docking station for my work laptop. I quickly realized that switching USB adapters for mouse and keyboard every time I switched between work and personal computers was inconvenient and unnecessary wear and tear on the ports. When I discovered that my work laptop's built-in DAC was useless when I tried to listen to music on Pandora while working, I decided to look for a USB switch and found this one. br>br>I am pleased to announce that the UGREEN USB 3. 0 is now available. With my setup, the 0 switch is almost perfect. I've got it hooked up to my laptop dock and my personal computer. My mouse adapter, wired keyboard, and standalone DAC are all connected to the front panel. I also used the fourth USB port to connect a keyboard adapter so that I can use my wireless keyboard from my couch when I want to switch the computer display to my TV, which works perfectly. br>br>By pressing the button on the top of the UGREEN unit, you can instantly switch control from one computer to another. A tiny, non-profit organization. The presence of an obtrusive blue LED indicates which computer is active, and the mouse, keyboard, and audio DAC all function correctly on the selected computer right away. The only time I run into trouble is when the computer I'm switching to is sleeping. In that case, moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard does not wake up the computer as it should, and I must turn it on by pressing the power button. I'm not sure why, but it appears that if the USB connection was not active when the computer was put to sleep, it will not reconnect until the computer is manually woken up. I double-checked my power settings to ensure that USB ports are not turned off when the computer is turned off, as this would seem to be the most likely cause of the problem, but this is not the case. This is only a minor annoyance because the power buttons on both my computer and dock are easily accessible, but it would be nice if it worked. br>br>The UGREEN is a small device that sits on top of my audio mixer on my desk. To keep the cables tidy, I have to bend my two wired connections (keyboard and DAC) at an angle of 180 degrees to route them back behind the switch. That would not be an issue if I only had four USB adapters plugged in. The only way to fix this would be to put all of the ports on the back, which would require the unit to be larger in order to fit six ports on one side instead of four. br>br>The switch is very light (which means stiff cords sometimes lift it and it doesn't sit flat), and it has a cheap-feeling plastic housing with no mounting provision if you wanted to attach it to something, but these are minor flaws because it works fine. br>br>It appears that you can power the switch with micro USB if your devices require a lot of power (for example, if you want to charge something via USB), but I don't have this switch connected to power with the backlit keyboard I'm using, and it and my devices work fine. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the UGREEN USB 3. 0 switch. 0 switch. I'd be even happier if it could always connect to a computer that was asleep when it was switched on, but that isn't necessarily the switch's fault. If you want to share inputs between two computers without having to constantly plug and unplug cords, dongles, and adapters, this is the way to go.
During the day, I use my work computer, and at night, I use my gaming computer. This makes switching from one mechanical keyboard to the other a breeze. br>br>I started putting it on the floor and pressing it with my toe as a "foot button," which works really well.
