It's a cute little receiver, but everyone I call, whether on a landline or a cell, gets static and buzzing on their end while I don't. I tried it out myself and it does happen, so I just use it when I want a more private experience with my phone while also feeling retro!br>br>***Update with my apologies, it turns out that there was a bad wire at my house that made the landline noisy and buzz only when it rained! So, even if it wasn't raining, this Lil receiver would pick up that noise! So, when the phone repairman came and cut that wire, I thought I'd give it a try, and guess what? So be inspired to get this Lil retro cUtie°°° with no buzz and no noise!.
Even with the Jack adapter, it didn't work with the iPhone. Now I see that this issue was experienced by a number of people in the reviews. This is extremely aggravating because it is not mentioned in the advertisement.
It was a pleasant surprise. I'll start by telling you to turn up the volume on both your phone and the handset. When you connect a hearing audio device to your phone, the phone automatically lowers the volume so that the device does not blare into your ears. So, if the person on the other end of the line can't hear you or you can't hear them, you'll have to turn up the volume on your phone, and perhaps they'll have to as well. At first, I thought the phone's volume button wasn't working properly because it wasn't raising the volume very much, but then I realized I needed to turn up the volume on the phone, and it worked perfectly. This phone was purchased for my deafeningly deaf brother. He was using his flip phone with this phone plugged into it. I inquired, "Can you hear me?" It seems far away, he said. I told him to turn up the volume on his phone as well as his cell phone. The audio was loud and clear when he turned up the volume on his phone. This is a purchase that I would recommend. Personally, I dislike talking on my phone while holding it to my ear. I like holding this handset to my ear with my shoulder, just like I used to do back in the day, and having it stay put. It's awkward to hold a cell against your shoulder. I asked my brother to put his phone in his shirt pocket while he listened to music on this handset. It was a hit with him.

This was purchased as a present for my mother. The microphone is terrible; it muffles the sound and picks up breathing like no other. The volume control appeared to have no effect. I attempted to return it, but Amazon refused to accept it and simply refunded my money.

Everything is in order. Just keep in mind that the plug head is quite large, and your case might make it difficult to get it to fit. Remove the case and try again if it does not work after plugging it in. br>I believe many people are misinformed about this. It will not fit in a case with a small plug hole. The phone's volume control is the master volume for the entire setup, whereas the handset's volume control can only increase the volume to the same level as the master volume is set (or isn't). My mother didn't want to "hold a dinner plate to her head" with her new phone, but this small, non-bulky device was perfect for her. The handset is radiation-resistant and connects to a 3. Her Samsung phone AND tablet both have a 5 jack, which is ideal for her.
