It has been inconsistent for a long time. When I tried to find my keys after a vacation, I couldn't locate them. It turned out that my keys were in the purse that I was holding while I opened the app and pressed to locate them, but I was out of range when it showed me that my keys were in the purse that I was holding. This thing was only a few inches away from me, so I was certainly not out of range. My lips were sealed as I scrambled to find my keys in a zippered compartment upon discovering I had thrown them in the trash. I never heard them ring! This is not even on my keys, and I'm wondering why I have it. Waste of time and money! *I was eager to find our keys and other items with the Tiles, and the app provided a great way to accomplish that. I downloaded the app to my iPhone and found the set up to be straightforward, and found the app to be quite easy to use. My last action was to do a quick check in the app to find my keys, which were sitting directly beside me, and the tile app said they weren't within range. Then I let it sit for a while before going to the app again. It's disturbing, I see. As I scanned around the app for awhile, I found that it suddenly started working. This makes no sense to me, since I have no trouble with anything else that connects via Bluetooth. When I tried downloading the app on my iPad to see if it could find my phone, I received an error message saying that there was an unexpected error when calling When I double-pressed the tile button, I assumed it would send the same tone to my phone as if I double-pressed The SMS seemed to indicate it was trying to contact my phone, but since I never gave my phone number to it, I am not sure how it would do so. Tile piqued my interest - I was eager to try it out However, I was disappointed when I got one and found out how it works in practice. The main limitation is that Tile can only communicate via Bluetooth with devices that have the Tile app installed. As Tile doesn't have the capability to connect via wifi to the internet, it cannot connect directly to the internet. This means that if you leave it away from your phone, it won't be able to To connect via Bluetooth, you need to remember where you left it, then go back to that part of the city where it was left, get close enough to the Tile to make it reconnect. I bought a Tile Pro and attached it to my new set of keys after my old keys vanished last week.
