Questions & Answers

Is it blocking the receptacle on the wall above and/or below it?

Please disregard Elaine Taylor's snarky response. I got my Anker 40W 4-in-1 charger today. Yesterday, I bought a two-prong USB wall charger, which has two narrow prongs instead of one wide and one narrow, so you can put it where you want it. right-hand or left-hand In your outlet, place it on its side. This allows you to use both receptacles on your outlet, one for this charger and the other for whatever else you need it for. It has no effect on the receptacle. The charger is quite nice. $19 was the price I paid. On Amazon, it's just 99 cents. Have a wonderful day!

Is there a maximum wattage per port? The Surface 3 puts out a whopping 13W on its single port; will the power Iq do the same, or is there a lower limit?

It can only produce a maximum of two. At 5 volts, this equates to 12 watts per port.

Is this something that can be done in other countries as well?

I don't have it in front of me because it's being used by my daughter at college. I KNOW it works with all VOLTAGES between 100 and 240 volts - This includes the NORMAL operating voltages of ALL countries - However, some countries have a CPS of 50, whereas the United States has a CPS of 50. The industry standard is 60. I won't know if THIS unit will work at 50 cycles until my daughter brings it to me and I can look at the plate details. I do know, however, that she adores this particular unit. It does not "get hot" like some OEM units, and it charges very quickly when compared to OEM units. When she uses this unit to charge her Samsung, it no longer gets hot.

After only one day, it caught fire with only one iPad connected
3/5

It smoked after only one night with a single iPad Air connected to it via the Apple charging cable, and it could have started a fire. WTF? I've had good luck with Anker in the past, but this is very concerning, and I'm disappointed that this charger didn't live up to my expectations. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. After a year, Anker sent me a replacement that appears to be in good working order.

a poor standard- UPDATE: The device is great, but the customer service is a pain
3/5

For a few months, it worked. It's possible that I got a bad one. I have a number of Anker products and find them to be excellent in general. The quality of the Anker 40W 4-Port USB Charger, on the other hand, is excellent. No other device compares to the Port USB Wall. br>br>UPDATE: br>A customer service representative contacted me after I left a negative review about my faulty item to inquire about my bad experience. Anker's customer service offered me a replacement unit at no additional cost. br>br>After receiving the replacement unit, the same customer service representative contacted me to check on the status of my new device and strongly "suggesting" that I change my review. I told the salesperson that I would test the unit in a few days. I received their third attempt today, requesting that I update my review. br>br>In broad strokes: br>The replacement device performs admirably. Aker products are fantastic; I have USB cables, external batteries, and other items from them. I gave it a three-star rating because the customer service is attempting to sway the review. br>I gave it a three-star rating because the customer service is attempting to sway the review.

UPDATE: It does what it's supposed to do, but it won't charge Apple devices unless you unplug and plug the cable in again
5/5

To charge my iPad, I use a genuine lightning cable. I'm guessing it has something to do with the PowerIQ feature, but I'm not sure because this is my first Anker charger. It does not appear to behave in this manner with other devices (i. e. Only Apple devices (or my digital camera) are supported. UPDATED TO 5 STARS: br>br> br>After I posted my review, Anker quickly contacted me to learn more about the situation. After a brief phone conversation, they determined that the unit I received was defective and promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement has performed admirably. This is a fantastic four-port charger that charges all of my devices in a reasonable amount of time. When my devices are being charged actively, I like having the indicator on the charger. Overall, Anker provides a fantastic product with outstanding customer service.

It's top-heavy and won't stay plugged in
3/5

I had high hopes for this because I had previously purchased an Anker wall charger with multiple slots, which was fantastic (until I misplaced it). Because Anker no longer produces that model, I purchased this to replace it. The issue with this charger is that it has such a high price tag. The charger head pulls out of the wall no matter what you plug into it. It's not a problem with power strips on the floor, but plug it into any wall socket and you'll notice the issue in minutes. The problem is immediately apparent, indicating that whoever designed this did not conduct any field testing.

For the Galaxy S7, it works, but it's a little slow (a faster model with QC3 is available)
4/5

I was dissatisfied with the Amazon product I purchased. The main source of my dissatisfaction is that, despite nearly perfect customer reviews, including some claiming that this wall charger works with the Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, it is significantly slower than the original charger that came with the phone in my experience. I conducted several tests using various levels of my phone's battery; The Anker charger works, but it takes 30% or more than the original charger when using the original cable. Despite the 40W rating, the charging time increases when other devices are connected at the same time. I purchased this Anker charger to avoid having to bring multiple chargers with me on trips. While the Anker charger appears to work well with other devices (iPhone S7, S7 plus, iPads, and so on), it is significantly larger and heavier than the original chargers: It's about the size of four iPhone chargers put together, and it's probably heavier (I don't have a scale to confirm; Later on, I'll try to upload some photos). On the plus side, it appears to be another high-quality Anker product, capable of charging multiple devices at once; I just wish it charged my Galaxy S7 faster and was smaller and lighter. br>br>I'm going to change my rating from three to four stars in my review. Anker customer service was excellent, and they quickly offered me the opportunity to return the product (which I declined because the charger is still functional for my iPhones). They then offered to send me a one-year subscription to their magazine. QC 3 (quick charger 3) charging port 0), which charges my Galaxy S7 phone in the same amount of time as the original charger. Customer service also mentioned that there are other, slightly more expensive chargers that can charge my phone quickly and have a different number of ports. I wish the company would think about making this product's title and description more clear. Although it states in the description that it does not support QC3, I believe that some customers, including myself, will be disappointed. The issue is that the title claims that the charger can also charge the Galaxy S7 (which it can, but not as quickly). The charger is, however, still bulkier and heavier than the Samsung original. br>br>As a result of this, I have come to the following conclusion: This charger comes highly recommended by me for anyone who does not own a Galaxy S7 (or any other device that can charge faster using QC3 technology). I recommend spending a little more money and getting the Anker model with QC3 if you have QC3-enabled devices.

The pin is easily broken off
3/5

I worked for a couple of days until the plastic that held the metal pin in place broke. I can no longer plug into any outlet. This Anker product has left me very disappointed.
