At this price, this is an excellent video camera
4/5

This camera is fantastic. Sure, there are better video cameras on the market in almost every way imaginable. However, at its price point, this one has discovered a fantastic combination of features. br>br>Aspects I enjoy:br>* Large image sensor - You can get a shallow depth of field by cranking up the gain in low-light situations. When you need a little extra light, this is the place to go. br>* It produces a very high-quality imagebr>* It is very adaptable - There are numerous configuration optionsbr>* The ClearImage Zoom actually works wellbr>* Overall good build qualitybr>br>The things that irritate me are:br>br>The following are the things that irritate me:br>br>The following are the things that irritate me:br>br>The following are the things that irritate me:br>br>The following are the things br>* A 4K recording takes up to 8 hours to complete. bit 4: Instead of ten, use zero. bit 4: 2br>* The maximum frame rate for 4K recording is 24/25/30. It can only output 4K to two destinations at a time, so you can output via HDMI and the LCD monitor at the same time until you start recording, at which point one of them is turned off. br>* It can only output 4K to two destinations at a time, so you can output via HDMI and the LCD monitor at the same time until you start recording, at which point one of them is turned off. It appears to be a minor stumbling block. br>* It lacks dedicated buttons/switches for Gain, Shutter, and White Balance, unlike the majority of Sony cameras. These functions do have a button, but it only allows you to adjust the settings with a small up/down toggle switch. The way Sony handles this in its other cameras is far superior. br>* I wish it had more dedicated buttons for some of its features, such as Zebra, Peaking, and WB preset, rather than having to adjust those features through menus. br>* The Menu and menu navigation buttons are placed in an inconvenient location. When the camera is mounted on a tripod, they're on top, under the LCD (when it's closed), making it extremely difficult to make adjustments. Again, Sony's other cameras perform much better in this area. br>* While recording, you cannot turn the Digital Extender on or off. br>* To use the WiFi remote control features, you must first create a new WiFi network. It will not join a network that already exists. br>* The camera is completely controlled by the WiFi functions. It would be nice to be able to control the camera both remotely and locally at the same time. br>br>But, despite its flaws, the camera is fantastic for the price, and I've bought three of them.

It appeals to me greatly - I went out and bought another! I have a YouTube channel for which I am essentially a one-man band, and I do all of my own camera work with tripods
5/5

I almost always use multiple cameras, whether for alternative perspectives or for PiP elements. In addition, the majority of my video is shot outside, where lighting and other environmental concerns are difficult to control, if at all. As a result, I must rely heavily on my equipment's quality and consistency. br>I've been using Sony cameras for a long time, but it was time to upgrade from my older gear at the start of 2020, so I chose the PXW-100. Z150 is a good choice because of its features and positive feedback. I've been using it for almost a year, week in and week out, to create YouTube videos in real time. environments in which people live This isn't a "I just got it and it smells nice, so here's a glowing review," but rather the viewpoint of a man who expects a lot from his cameras and has put this one through its paces for the past 11 months. br>I try to use auto settings as much as possible because I work alone and the more time I spend fiddling with camera settings, the less time I have to create content. However, there are times when I need to override those settings to address environmental concerns or to obtain the images I'm looking for. Certain functions, on the other hand, I only use in manual mode. The main point is this: This camera gives me the freedom to make those decisions, and it's sophisticated enough to give me a lot of control over the details. br>I almost always use a wireless lav mic with the camera, and it works great when using auto leveling, which allows the camera to automatically set the recording level for me. I haven't used the built-in microphone much, so I can't give it any useful feedback. I usually use a shotgun mic (a Sony) when I need external audio on the camera. I use manual focus 95% of the time because I want the camera focused on what I am holding in front of me -
I use manual focus 95 of the time because I On my face, no way. The focus assist button, which offers two levels of magnification to aid in getting the tack-perfect shot. You must have a razor-sharp focus! I also use the white balance control to ensure that my photos are properly balanced for ambient light - I also use the neutral density filters a lot when working outside (which is the majority of my work). It's fantastic that they're already built in. br>The slomo mode is fantastic, but I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would - When I need slomo footage, I usually use a GoPro at 240 frames per second. Nonetheless, it's a useful feature that I wouldn't want to lose. The fact that the monitor screen is so high up on the wall appeals to me greatly. One of the reasons I chose this camera was for this reason, and it has proven to be very useful. The XLR controls and inputs are fantastic. But I'll admit something - I'm a sucker for a good story. I've settled into a standard configuration and use the camera for productive purposes, so I don't use many of the camera's available functions. br>However, the image quality is by far the most impressive aspect of this camera. As previously stated, I have used other Sony cameras for many years and am confident in the brand's quality. This camera, on the other hand, completely outperforms the competition. I don't usually shoot in 4k because my other cameras don't support it (although that may change now), but the full 1080p HD from this camera is so good that I've never felt the need. br>The camera is solid and dependable, with a good mix of professional controls and user-friendly features. It has auto functions and produces footage that is far superior to that produced by other cameras. The lack of a still image mode is perhaps the only minor drawback, and there are times when this would be useful. But the greatest compliment I can bestow on this camera is this: After almost a year of continuous use with the PXW- I recently purchased a new Z150 - not to be used as a substitute - but in order for me to have a matched pair of high-quality cameras for my work.
