Product Description

Questions & Answers

My Sony Nex 7 is compatible with this cage. Will it work? Would you make any body armor accessories for the Nex 7 if you don't already? Thank you for your wonderful ?

If you are going to buy a cage, make sure it is the right one. As the cage is only for the 6600, you won't be able to use it.

What's the point of this cage if it doesn't have the Arca Swiss built in like the cage for the A6500 ?

As I type this, I have the cage mounted to my camera, and I also find it disappointing that the base of the cage is not arca dovetail-shaped. The Smallrig cage I used to have had this feature was so handy. If you don't include it, it's kind of silly. Although the bottom has what is likely to be a half-dovetail and the front flat side has some (mounting) holes, it is not entirely flat. It is missing (the) holes, so maybe an arca Swiss-compatible part can be screwed in? The sky is the limit.

This cage comes with top handles, but can I use them with this cage?

Welcome to SmallRig -- thank you for visiting. For more information, please search for the item on Amazon "SMALLRIG Camera Top Handle Grip with Cold Shoe Mount for Digital DSLR Camera, Camera Cage - Tomy Genuine Parts" There are 1638 in the year 1638. With this cage, you can use this top handle. It is also possible to purchase it as a bundle by searching on Amazon for "SmallRig Cage for Sony A6600 + Top Thread Handle.". I would like to thank you for using SmallRig Customer Service And wish you a pleasant stay

Would it be possible for me to mount my Sony A6600 vertically to the Zhiyun crane lab 3 using this small rig? Could you please tell me if there are any other attachments I need to submit?

The cage fits snugly on my Zhiyun Weebill lab and I have mine mounted there, so it should work perfectly.

There have been reports that the battery compartment has been blocked by the cage
3/5

It has been reported that the cage blocks the battery compartment for many consumers. In placing the camera in the cage properly, as the average consumer would do, there's a very good chance that a portion of the cage will block the battery door once it's seated. In retrospect, I have discovered that this is largely because the cage only relies on two points of contact at the ends with the camera to secure it to the frame. With two points of contact, there is room for error if a sensor is over or under positioned in the cage. Getting the frame as close to the camera as possible. It results in either or both blocking the camera door. In my opinion, two out of three is best In short *A) If SmallRig had a washer for the top right screw, this possibility would be eliminated as it would remove the possibility of flex/pivot. In case Consumers already own the cage and wish to purchase or add a second one now rather than later, they may do so. Washer with a thickness of 1mm and a diameter of 5mm.

It is an excellent cage
5/5

This statement comes "with caveats". Despite my A6600 fitting snugly in the cage, it was still easy to transport. I think it might be too snug. This is because once you install some of the larger lenses to the A6600, the cage can no longer accommodate the lenses. When the 18-month rule does not apply It appears that removing the camera strap rings from the A6600 is necessary in order to fit the cage flush with the 135 "kit" lens. When I got it in the hand, I really liked the extra protection the cage provided, as well as the feel in my hands. As soon as I mounted the Sony LA-DII, I was amazed at the image quality Using the EA4 ("monster adapter") with an older Sigma 24 The number of 70 is As a result of this dilemma, the cage was no longer an option It was a real disappointment for me because now I'm back at square one In an effort to accommodate the A6600 body, the LA-90 is trying to find a solution There is also an EA4, as well as a The lens has a 300mm focal length. I guess I'll just have to accept it.

I purchased this Sony A6600 Smallrig cage in March I have come to expect excellent quality and design Truth be told, I spent more money on this because it added extra protection
5/5

The price of the A6600 is only $45, which is a reasonable fee when you consider its major features. In actuality, the real feature in this case is the added flexibility within the realm of mounting. In the end, I may not rig my A6600 up fully (I bought it because of its portability after all), but I can throw a GoPro on it if I want - which is what I'll probably If you look at the price alone, you cannot go wrong with this accessory, and it boasts the Smallrig label. There is no restriction on what I can do because all buttons and features are accessible. Moreover, I added the 3M Carbon Fiber skin kit that is available from.

I loved how well it was made and how handy it was
5/5

It is a very sturdy and well-made piece of equipment. A6600 can be tricky at first when attempting to fit, especially for the first few uses. You will need to keep an eye out for the camera strap loops on the cage that need not be removed, but can get in your way. You will most likely have to remove your lens in order to apply this. If you want to leave it on once installed, either practice installing it somewhere quiet first or leave it on while you practice. It is obvious to move the microphone out of the way of the flip screen, however it is important to keep in mind that the bar of the cage that runs along the top of the camera will severely restrict the view of the screen when flipped. In spite of this, it is still easier to see and frame when it is there than if your microphone were.

It's a joke trying to serve customers A customer service star and a Q star are given
3/5

The product is not what matters, not the C. I discovered that my cage did not include hardware when it arrived on 12/20. My smallrig contact responded within 48 hours, which is what is required by Amazon policies. It is unknown why Lacy requested pictures in order to better understand what I was saying. Within an hour, I sent a response with pictures. The response has been pending for a week, and i have contacted her again without reply. So basically, if you have issues with Smallrig after your purchase, the customer service department will not help you. I spent over 300 on smallrig gear. I am not going to bother with them again, other than dealing with missing hardware and dealing with all of this. But the products are sturdy and they are solid. Lacy is to blame for the loss of your first customer and sales for Your smallrig.

The Arca-connection is not present An adapter for the Swiss is located at the bottom This item was purchased to give me a less fragile connection to my tripod for still images, and I was greatly disappointed when it didn't come with an Arca-Swiss mount An integral Swiss connection is built into the plate's bottom
3/5

When I was a littlerig, I had the following I have another bracket for my A6000, which was also equipped with arca swiss plate connections on the bottom and sides, but the one this one was not. In the event that this is being returned, I guess I'll have to find something else. The item works perfectly and makes it easy to connect things like mics, grips, guidescopes, etc.

If the item is revised with an Arca-Swiss adapter, then it will work great. I will be the first to purchase it since it comes with a Swiss connection cut into the bottom.

It's a great camera cage! This would have gotten a five if I could Review rating of four stars
4/5

To begin with, I have to say that SMALLRIG has a great camera cage with this item. There's something very appealing about it, and it looks good too This product is both well-engineered and affordable. The only complaint I have is that small M2 is missing. For the cage to be 100% secure, the A6600 must be fastened with 5 screws. Since the bigger 1/4"-inch mounting hole does not pose too much of a problem Despite the 20 screw at the bottom preventing the camera from coming out of the cage, it is still enough to knock off one star.

I really like this The first thing I must say is that I'm not a professional
5/5

I purchased the Sony A6600 on which this was mounted as one of the most expensive pieces of photography gear ever. To prevent the device from becoming damaged, I wanted a beefy material to surround it. Moreover, I knew that it would not be possible to mount the microphone on this type of camera without relocating the shoe- they are similar but a little different. The cage is something that I benefit from. Additionally, it's handy to keep a quick release tripod mount on the side and bottom so that I can change the camera's orientation quickly. It is a great accessory, I like it, and I will buy it.
