When connected to some Ikelite housings via an appropriate sync cord, it operates in TTL mode or manual exposure mode, with six manual power settings in one-half f-stop increments.
Coverage angle: 70 degrees without diffuser, 80 degrees with diffuser
With full-power batteries, you can get up to 200 flashes.
Includes a 1" Ball Mount Mark II for attaching strobes to optional ball arms with 1" diameters from Ikelite, Aquatica TLC, Ultralight, Nauticam, and other brands.

This is a fantastic little strobe

The DS50 was updated, and I used it as well. The only difference between the DS51 and the DS50 is that the DS51 has fractional manual power settings on the dial, whereas the DS50 only had "TTL" or "Man" (i. e. Full). 4 AA rechargeable batteries are required. An ikelite or nikonos sync cord is required, or a slave optical adapter (separate) can be used.
