What is the length of the tray, based on the 6 x 6 x 1 dimensions mentioned above? Doesn't it seem like 5 inches is too much?

7" x 1" 1/4 inch. I've mounted a SeaLife DC1400 camera, a SeaDragon 1500 photo/video light, and a SL975 Fisheye wide angle lens bracket to it. br>I'm upgrading from my previous DC1400 Pro Duo setup, which included a large flash and a separate large photo/video light. To travel lighter, you'll need to use a needle.

Is it possible to use my GoPro with this?

I don't own a GoPro camera. It's a common camera screw, and you can buy an adapter to use it on both the top and bottom of the camera.

It appears to be of good quality and works perfectly. I haven't dived with it yet, but I am looking forward to it. Even though most or all Sealife equipment is expensive, this was a good deal.
