I've been using these exact ball clamps for three years and have never had an issue with them: no rust, they still work, and none have ever broken. While using these, I have not misplaced any of my camera equipment. I needed two more pieces to complete my underwater setup. They're identical to the ones I've always used, so they're a perfect match. My setup is appealing to the eye and performs admirably.
We use these types of UltraLight ball/socket rigs to hang small LED video monitors off our motion picture cameras where I work in the film industry. With any type of "on-the-fly" business, we move quickly and must frequently reconfigure these mounting arms. These ball, clamps are a perfect match for the rest of our components. I was overjoyed to discover these on Amazon!.
These things' pictures are a little confusing at first, but they make more sense once you attach them to compatible ball mounts. The ball mounts are held in place by two identically sized clamps that each resemble an 8. The slightly smaller one is a handle for tightening or loosening your equipment (lights, etc. ) so that you can mount it at any angle.
It's been running for quite some time now. It got stuck and just kept spinning this year, but I always soak my rig after a dive. After drilling the entire screw out, I was finally able to remove it. NOT FUN. Choosing the UltraLight brand, which has proven to be reliable.
It really works. The SHOOT Aluminum Handheld Trey was purchased in conjunction with it.
I purchased a kit from another seller and half of the parts, including the clamp, were missing, so I ordered this set while waiting for the others to arrive, and they are excellent quality parts that I should have purchased from the beginning.
Additional clamp was required due to the addition of a strobe.
