At the very least, I'll be able to add a microphone and a light, as it has plenty of mounting points. It also has a tripod mount on the bottom, allowing you to use it with a tripod to get a nice steady shot. If you're doing your own vlogs or conducting an interview, this is a great tool to have. It's also not flimsy, but neither is it light. Another advantage is that getting your smartphone in and out of the rig is simple. Your phone is held in place by a simple slide mechanism that prevents it from slipping. It's quite large, but I believe that's by design so that larger phones can fit inside. A Samsung Galaxy S7 was the device I was using. A gimbal is recommended if you want to take steady handheld shots. It's not ideal for moving around, but if you're standing still and don't have access to a tripod, the two handles can help stabilize your shot. If you want to make your cell phone videos look more professional, I strongly advise you to use this app.

I've given up my clunky DSLR in favor of using the camera on my smartphone to shoot a lot of video, as have many others. Sure, it lacks glass, but that isn't a deal breaker for most shoots. Rather than strew a mic and lights around, the Ulanzi device solves a slew of issues. It's made of rubber. It's unlikely to make it through a six-month period. a decrease in height However, for $20, you can get two and save money over the expensive one advertised on Facebook. My Takstar mic slid right into the top bracket after being screwed into my Bogen tripods. The spring is quite strong, and the rubber bushings will keep your phone safely in place. My only problem was that I couldn't mount my phone because it was in a case. It's only meant to hold a slim phone. If you want to keep your phone in mint condition and are prone to drops, this could be a problem. Aside from that, it's a blast. Seven full-time employees have been hired after just two months on the job. It's been used for day-to-day location shoots and still looks brand new.

  This product will not work with an iPhone 6 Plus that has a Commuter Otter Box attached to it. The phone is loose in the bracket and easily pops out with little effort. It's a bad design on their part, but it's easily fixable. I read the reviews before purchasing this, and many of them stated that it would work with this phone and a case. If your phone is in a case, don't waste your money and switch to another product. Ulanzi has let me down. I'd give it a star, but I think 0 stars would be more appropriate.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but I've mounted this on a shoulder support that goes over one shoulder and the lower arm rests on your belly, providing excellent stability. (Which is also available for purchase on Amazon. ) Because the shoulder support was hard and uncomfortable, I added a faux sheepskin cover, which greatly improved the comfort. This rig provides incredible stability, whether I'm shooting live or still shots, once it's attached. I'd go so far as to say that this gimbal has more stability and control than any other gimbal I've used before, and the shoulder support allows me to avoid using the grip handles all of the time because I can hold onto the lower portion of the shoulder support that is lower and closer to my body and have just as much control as if I were holding the grip handles. This also reduces fatigue because I don't have to hold my arms up so high for long periods of time. I took these photos with an iPhone, but I'm actually shooting with a Galaxy Note 9. I didn't want to use the galaxy for the photo review at the same time as I was using it for the photos on this page, so I couldn't do both. In the near future, I plan to add an led lamp and an external microphone using the 1/4 inch connectors. Between the phone mount and the shoulder support, I'll mount a three-way tripod head to give me complete angle flexibility. I have a portable external battery backup that I can throw in my gear backpack that will charge my Note 9 about 10 times without needing to be recharged, allowing me to shoot all day at outdoor concerts, events, and festivals. While this setup isn't ideal for everyone, it works for me, and I recommend the mount to anyone looking for a simple way to add stability to their photo or video needs.

This smartphone camera rig has exceeded my expectations. It barely fits in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smartphone case, but it's much easier to film without it. Making the first film is something I'm really looking forward to.

It's important to keep in mind that getting used to this takes some time. It's easy to grip the sides. There is a great deal of flexibility with it. The phone holder is spring-loaded and fits a phone about 3" larger than an iPhone X, whereas the regular Ulanzi U Rig can hold a phone up to 4 3/8" (not spring-loaded). You'll need to remove the spring-loaded device from the back for this one. Otherwise, getting a phone in there can be difficult, as I discovered today while attempting to get in an iPhone 6 with a morphie case pulling it up from the front. It did not work. The case was too thick, and the spring-loaded mechanism was resisting your efforts. Unless you have a thin phone/case and need more adjustability, or prefer the stability/higher quality of this case over the regular one, I almost think the regular version is better.

This Ulanzi U Rig Pro Smartphone is an excellent investment! Built to last, with a clap system that securely attaches your smartphone for easy handheld use. br>The one I bought came with three coldshoe mounts, allowing me to attach as many accessories as I need to finish the job. You can also use this rig to mount your phone vertically or horizontally on a tripod to get the shot you want. In general, I'm pleased. The Downside: br>br> br>As much as I adore this setup, the most serious flaw is that my iPhone 7 Plus does not fit in the case. To mount the phone, I need to disassemble it. It isn't, however, a deal breaker. In the event that it falls, it is very well secured in the center. However, it would have made me happier if it had matched the case. br>br>A 4/5 star rating is still excellent. It's something I'd suggest to others.
