You can find Kupton Housing on . As part of my Hero 7 Black purchase, I purchased the Kupton underwater housing and the GoPro Super Suit. So far, I have not tested either under water. I DO NOT WORK FOR NOR AM I IN ANY WAY CONNECTED TO KUPTON OR GOPRO, AND THIS IS NOT AN ASKED COMPARISON. I will start by stating the following 1) The main benefit of GoPro is its portability. There was no indication of what was inside the small, nondescript box that Kupton came in. You wouldn't expect to find the GoPro in a store shelf package after buying it. The price is ****B1) STUFF GOES AWAY, so we're left with. . . It is an advantage to work with I had to buy the Kupton housing on Amazon for roughly $15 less than I had to buy the GoPro on Amazon. The following points should be added to the sentence *3) BUILD QUALITY The main benefit of GoPro is its portability. It's obvious that both housings are vastly different. There are no clear differences between the plastic housings, however THE HINGE ON TOP OF THE KUPTON THAT LATCHES THE BACK IS VERY WEAK compared to It WILL fall and it will fall soon. You may have to cancel your dive trip because of this. Despite constant opening and closing of the housing, the GoPro latch appears to be very solid and will hold up to constant use. There is no intention to do so by the Kupton. In addition to 4) It is an advantage to work with Your GoPro's protective lens cannot be mounted on it because you have to remove it. As long as the camera is Kupton compatible, this doesn't need to be done. Not only is it difficult to remove, but also to put on. I have an overall positive opinion A first thing to note is that you shouldn't believe all reviews. The products on Amazon are subpar, so I can see how a competitor would purposefully skew reviews to get people to purchase the product. Even though I bought both the Kupton and GoPro with my own money, I would recommend the Super Suit over the Kupton due to one major Hinges are the mechanism for opening and closing doors. You may end up making or breaking your trip if you lose this small metal locking clip. It's true that the Hero 7 is waterproof, but taking into account that you're buying an underwater housing, let's assume that you're going to house it despite its waterproofness. In fact, if Kupton were to redesign this latch, they could possibly claim to have the best housing, since you would not need to take your camera apart. Additionally, if something does damage your camera, it is almost always best to use an aftermarket product than an original GoPro piece. There are small actuating pins on both the GoPro and the Kupton that turn the on/off and record buttons while the camera is still You may have noticed that your rubber buttons on your camera have worn through these pins. This might not happen with my system, since I intend to rig something up.
For those seeking the same level of protection for their new GoPro Hero 5 as they have had with other GoPro models, this is a great option. The materials they have been using for years are the same, and they work really well. An open back door and two waterproof ones are included in the housing, and in case of an emergency, either of them may be opened The ring on one of them is damaged. Additionally, compared to GoPro's other accessories, this is one of the most reasonably priced, especially for what you get. thing to keep in mind is that the filter size for this case is different from the Hero 3+ or 4 housings (not sure about older models, but I would assume they are different as well), so if you have them, you will have to purchase It took me some time to realize that you actually have to remove the front glass panel from the Hero 5 before putting it into this case, which I wish I had known before purchasing it. It doesn't seem to be a major issue, but it is hard to get off and feels like you might break it if you aren't You should also be careful not to lose the small glass panel, since it is quite small and could easily be lost or damaged (though they As a result, we can conclude this case is incredible. The case is a good investment if you need more protection for your camera or if you intend to get down below 30 feet underwater. I think that as long as you're cautious when handling the Hero 5's front glass panel, you should be fine.
I already had what looked like a sturdy GoPro housing break in the same spot, so I was disappointed that this one did the same. There was a problem with the door latch - I have opened or closed it no more than three times in my years of using it. As a business owner, I can afford cheap products that waste my time and energy, but I need this product to work by tomorrow.
On the very first dive I used this super suit, it and the camera slipped off the clip/rail. Hundreds of dollars have been spent. That it requires you to remove your lens in order to put it on is simply BAD design. If at all possible, the lens should be subjected to the least amount of light. Even so, every time you have to use the mini sd or the battery, you often have to leave it unprotected. The situation is especially bad for divers. I've used every version of the GoPro camera there is and I did not recommend it.
I found the product to be poorly designed and very expensive. It requires you to take the camera lense off before you can use it. What a ridiculous idea. A camera that must be taken apart in order to use it underwater isn't something anyone wants. It is much better to buy a dive case from a third party with all the components you need for a fraction of the cost on Amazon. I returned it.
Despite the fact that it did about 20 dives of varying depths, it did phenomenally I can see 25 meters away! When you're on the surface, you won't be able to use the touchscreen without fighting fog, so don't think you'll be using it on a regular basis. One thing I don't like about this is that the skeleton door is made of plastic and allows water and sand to go inside If you even open the waterproof door when there is any moisture present (even just humidity), expect to have to keep battling fog until you can get the thing 100% dry every time. In one instance, I was shooting with my GoPro in the rainforest, with the skeleton door unlocked, and the case became EVEN THOUGH IT RAINED, IT WAS PARTIALLY COLD! When it did rain, everything just came a crashing down. Due to a little humidity, that entire shoot ended up being ruined. In addition, I would also try to use the skeleton door whenever I went skin diving and I would always have to deal with water coming in through it. There is no easy solution when you are out on the rocks and want both protection and touchscreen use, but at the same time you would like that extra protection for your GoPro. There's a very simple fix to this problem, a silicone seal around the opening of the skeleton door would allow the touch screen to be operated while at shallower depths without allowing unwanted water into the tank. It appears to have solved the issue, for now, after I created a crude one on my own.
