It has been two years since I purchased this camera and I am still very happy with it. My bag is always full of it when I'm on an active trip. Pictures are excellent, it sits very well on the battery, it's not prone to damage and it's very easy to use. My camera did not get wet, however. I decided to get rid of her this vacation, thinking she had served me well and that I couldn't really care if it Then there's this. . There was a leak. He then died of a slow, painful Despite complicated instructions, I followed them all to the letter. I only had it under a few feet for about a half hour. Despite my poor shot, I got a fantastic shot.
Whilst not an underwater camera, it is a great gadget to take along when hiking, going to the beach or on other active holidays. The series is going to miss me.
Originally, it was my second Lumix camera, and I purchased it to replace the one I had lost in a swimming pool. By buying the exact same item as a replacement, it should be obvious that I liked this item very much. One star, however, does not exist for no apparent reason. This camera went completely out of commission in July 2017 despite being purchased in July 2015. A reboot did not fix the distorted screen, memory cards would not read and a restart did not fix the problems. Prior to its death, the camera took fantastic pictures, but I can't afford to buy it every two years for $160. It would be foolish to choose this option again since there are so many others out there.
My Panasonic Lumix camera has been around for a long time The TS20 is good for about three years The author has been working on it for almost 2 years. Due to the fact that it is waterproof, I can perform engineering inspections in crawlspaces, attics, etc. It is pretty dustproof too since it is waterproof. under water a few times, falling from ladders, and taking about 63,000 pictures on my TS20, I realized that the photos had become rather "shady" in sunlit conditions, so I decided it was time to upgrade. A new TS20 would have been nice because it had performed so well for so long, but the "old model" is now $300 on Amazon because it is an All of my spare batteries, etc. , will work with the new and improved model, so I decided to upgrade to the TS30. The mistake was pretty big. When I had to put it underwater for the first time during an underwater pool inspection, it worked well. My computer informed me that there was an "issue with the drive" when I attempted to get the photos off the SD card. removed the card from the camera, it was wet. When I replaced the card in the camera, it was marked to re-insert the card. A fog is visible inside the lens of the camera after I turned it on. Despite being in the locked position, water appeared to have entered the camera. The new model might not be as good quality as the TS20 or maybe I got a dud. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", as we say down south. The TS20 on which I took these photos feels a bit shady, however I think I've found a setting to compensate for that, so I'll keep it until it dies or gets so beat up I don't think it will take good photographs.
I have tried it under water during a vacation about a month ago in Xcaret, Mexico with no problems.
I have used this camera a few times and think that it is a good second camera, but only for occasional use. I've taken some pretty decent and some really bad shots and I realize I've got a lot to learn about it yet. I found that there is more of a learning curve than I anticipated, and many options are hidden in subcategories when they should be clearly visible. I find this not to be an intuitive quick draw point. This camera has a point-and-shoot feature and buttons that My main problem was choosing which setting I should have used for a quick photo of deer crossing the road. There's a window setting, one for low light, one for action, one for sunset, one for snow, etc. They would all have worked. In the blurry deer shot I attached, the snow was setting, not through a window at night, and the deer was lying in the snow. As a result, I was unable to capture what I needed and most of my outdoor photos haven't turned out well even in low light. I don't think this tells us much about what we can expect under the I would seek out a camera with a few more useful features, such as bracketing, macro photography, flash off and a timer, instead, something more like the Olympus TG5 (although it died when I cleaned it) that was more intuitive to use. Underwater photos were good with the camera because it was less bulky and easier to hold. My plan is to take this Lumix camera wherever my heart desires and so far, I have taken some good pictures with it. I'm learning how to use it and there's a lot more to learn. Until I can test many of its features, I can only recommend it as a toy for someone with small hands and fingers and sufficient patience. I have updated My daughter has taken this camera underwater many times and I've dropped it from my balcony a few times with some light scratches on the built-in viewfinder likely caused by the The small size and durability of this camera make it my go-to camera since I always have it with I haven't even used the high speed settings so I think it should get at least four stars. It has been a pleasure using this camera because it was so easy to use, is such a fun filter, and it is reliable and fun.
I've used Panasonic Lumix for a number of years. I've been using the TS20 cameras (I purchased five of them) for home inspections throughout the year and honestly am very happy with them I got about 300k photos from each. Batteries lasted for an exceptionally long time on these models until they were discontinued. It was my first time using the Olympus TG-1000 After purchasing two, I was disappointed because the flaps on the door constantly opened on their own and the unit had some focus issues. So earlier this year, I decided to purchase a DMC-5 and am very pleased with it. After several months of owning 2 of the TS30A, (I purchased the same two), I am very disappointed in these cameras, which are slow to focus, offer poor image quality in low light, and have dead or barely rechargeable batteries after 3 out of 4 days. To use my older cameras, I had to fall back on older models. These units left a lot to be desired.
