Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if the power button has been problematic for anyone?

I know what is involved with underwater photography, but it was broken on mine. The camera would come on, but was not able to go beyond the water line. In my call to Panasonic, the cost of fixing it would be the same as the price of the camera. I REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS NEWS REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS

A camera that is not intended to be used underwater, but is still very nice
3/5

During the two years that I owned this camera, I was very satisfied. I always have it in my backpack while on an active trip. This camera has excellent quality pictures, a long-lasting battery, no worries about damaging it. It is easy to use. It has never been under water, however. As I figured it had served me well and I would be fine if my iPod died, I decided to take it on vacation with me. Then there's this. There was a leak. After that, he died slowly. The directions were perfect. I followed them to the letter. For a half hour or so, I only had it under a few feet. But I was able to get a fantastic shot.
This is not an underwater camera, but a great one to take hiking, to the beach, or on There will be a hole in my heart.

A Year and a Half It was my second Lumix camera and I had lost the other while swimming and wanted to replace it
3/5

In my opinion, the fact that I bought this item again after replacing it indicates that I enjoyed wearing it quite a lot. But there is a reason why there is just one star in the sky By July 2017, I had lost all functionality of my camera that I bought in July 2015. Nothing could be done to fix the distorted screen and it wouldn't read memory cards even after rebooting. Although the camera took great pictures before it died, I do not feel comfortable spending $160 on a camera every two years. For now, I will not take this one into consideration again because there are so many other options.

This review was written by both a TS20 owner and TS30 owner
3/5

A Panasonic Lumix has been my main camera for the past several years We've been using TS20 for 3 to 4 months I have been working there for 2 years and half. Because it is waterproof, I use it for engineering inspections in crawl spaces, attics, etc. It is basically dustproof too since it is waterproof. After spending time in wet crawlspaces, being underwater many times, dropping from ladders, and taking over 63,000 pictures with my TS20, I noticed that the photos were becoming rather dull in bright sunlight, so I decided it was time to upgrade. A new TS20 would have been great since my old one had performed so well for so long, but they are now like $300 on Amazon because it is an All of my spare batteries, etc. , would work with the "new and improved" model. That's why I decided to upgrade to the TS30. The mistake was big. I had it under water for the first time as part of a pool inspection, and it worked well. As soon as I attempted to get the photos off the SD card, my computer advised me it was experiencing a "drive problem. ". As I inserted the card back into the camera, it said "Insert card", so I pulled the card out and saw that After turning on the camera, I noticed that the inside of the lens was However, even though the "locked" position of the camera was engaged, water appeared to have entered the chamber. This new model might not be as good as the TS20, or maybe I just got a dud. Unless it's broken, don't fix it, as we say in the South.

I like the pictures, but I find the video a little disappointing
4/5

Those are very nice pictures, but the videos aren't that good. I tried it during a vacation in Mexico 1 month ago under water all the time without any problems.

With mixed picture quality, a second camera that is fun to use
4/5

Having used this camera a few times, I think it has potential, but I'd only recommend it to an intermediate photographer. There have been some pretty good shots as well as a lot of bad ones, so I know I have plenty more to learn. It's harder than I first thought to learn this program and many of the options are buried in subcategories when they ought to be listed more prominently. It's not intuitive at all to create a quick drawing point with this - I am not happy with the fix-and-shoot function and the small buttons. Trying to get a quick pic of deer crossing a road, for example, I struggled with deciding which setting to use to achieve it. There are window settings, low light settings, action settings, sunset settings, and so on and always one of those settings would be As for the blurry deer shot I attached, it was not taken through a window and at night but while the snow was falling. The photos I took in low light, especially in outdoor scenarios, did not turn out well because I couldn't capture what I needed. I'm not sure how you will fare under water based on this. While it does have easy-to-use features such as bracketing, macro photography, flash off, and a timer on the camera, I would look for more rugged or main camera like the Olympus TG5 (although it died when I cleaned it) which offered more features. A friendly camera that takes good underwater photos and is easier to hold. This Lumix will go everywhere with me, and I already have a few good shots to show for it. I intend to use it a lot and will spend It's only a toy for someone with small hands and fingers, and you need enough patience to explore its features if you want to use it. I have updated My camera has been in the water many times and I have dropped it from my balcony with a few minor scratches on the built-in viewfinder that probably came The size and durability of this camera make it my go-to camera, and I always have it with There is at least one star for this. I haven't even used the high speed setting yet. Another photo using the Impressive Art filter was taken recently, and I'm going to upload it because this camera is straightforward, easy to use, and dependable.

Batteries last a short time
3/5

I used Panasonic Lumix cameras in the past. After about 300k photos on each camera I am happy with the TS20 cameras (I purchased 5) I purchased for home inspections and I have been using them successfully since last year. Sadly, the battery life on these models was exceptional, and those models have since been discontinued. Olympus TG-35 was my first experience with a large sensor camera In the fall of last year, I purchased DMC- 5 (I bought 2) and was disappointed because the door flaps constantly open on their own and the unit has some focus issues. So I decided earlier this year to purchase DMC- 10. It is my fault that I bought two of these cameras (TS30A), as I have been very disappointed. The camera is slow to focus, photos are poor in low light, but the biggest problem is that, after a month, three of the four batteries are not recharging. As a result, I had to switch to a more traditional camera. This is a very disappointing product.
