It would be nice to have a 3 in 1 oil. However, the threads may not be the only reason. A bearing is included, as well. A toothpick can be used to apply a little bit of it with a container and a little product. The problem with too much oil is that it is too much.

An exceptionally well-crafted focusing rail, this is a delight to use. A responce came within a few hours when I inquired about the clamp being able to be rotated 90°. There are four mounting screws in a square pattern, enabling the clamp to be rotated.
Once the order was placed, the shipment arrived 8 days later. A thick layer of bubble wrap was used to protect the package from damage. In addition to the product packaging, the shipping box was made of heavy cardboard and the rail was contained in a storage pouch. A small surprise was included in the box as well.
