I'm not sure if it'll run on Windows 7. Windows XP and previous versions of Windows may be affected. The 8100 is a good scanner, but it's a little out of date. To put it plainly, I have no idea!
You might want to give DriverAgent a shot. To see if they have one, go to www.com. I'm not sure what else to say.
The OneTouch 8100 scanner is no longer available and is only supported by Windows XP. The Windows 10 operating system is incompatible with this model.
Selected User Reviews For Visioneer One Touch 8100 Scanner
I've been using the visioneer one touch 8100 scanner for several years (eight) or more; there may be better scanners out there, but none as reliable; my scanner has seen hours and hours of scanning, and the only thing that needed replacing after (eight) years or more was the power cord; while searching the internet for a cord, I discovered another 8100 scanner on Amazon, so now I have a backup.
It was exactly as described.
This scanner hasn't been used in a long time, and I'm not even sure I still have it. I don't recall how well it worked or didn't work.
I bought the 8100 about a year and a half ago. My operating system was Windows 98, and installing the scanner software drivers was a breeze. The scanner performed admirably. I was able to connect to graphics, fax, and word packages using the Paper Port software. My operating system was upgraded to Windows 2000, and I downloaded the scanner update from the Visioneer website; the scanner now works flawlessly. I read the reviews of others who had bought this scanner and was surprised to learn that they were dissatisfied with their purchase. Let me tell you a little secret about how to make this scanner work. The software must be installed "PRIOR" to connecting the scanner to your computer's USB ports. If you're using Windows 2000, you'll need to download the scanner update, install it, restart your computer, plug in the scanner, and turn it on. When Windows detects that the scanner has been added, the drivers you downloaded from Visioneer will be loaded. It's as simple as that. You will not find a better scanner for the money. It's fantastic, I assure you.
I'm using a AMD K-series processor. Computer with a clock speed of 233 MHz. Windows 95 is a computer operating system that was released in 1995 I've tried a lot of scanners, and this one has to be the best value for the money. It was simple to set up, and it works well for me. The sideways design appeals to me far more. It is small enough to fit on the top shelf of my bookcase. The outcome of the scanning is superb. The editing software is fine if you're a pro like me, but I prefer other options. Text recognition software, on the other hand, is excellent. You can scan a spreadsheet and open it in Works to create your own template! I scanned 20 3 by 6 photos in about ten minutes the first time I tried it out. It would take twice as long, if not more, with other scanners. additionally, there is no system lock- ups. . the light turned off- Your settings control whether it is on or off, rather than being on all of the time like some other devices. Because I'm running Windows 95, I have to connect via parallel port. NOTE: Unless you upgrade to Win 98, Win 95 users must use parallel connections rather than the newer USB type! I didn't see any reason to upgrade, so this scanner was ideal for my needs. Now we'll have to wait and see how long it lasts. My previous ones only lasted a few years of light use. best of luck!.
The scanner performs the pre-scan and then displays an error message requesting that the scanner be unlocked and the scan be terminated. There are no locks on it. I finally got to speak with a representative after making several calls to tech support at my own expense (no toll free). They gave me a few simple things to try, but they didn't work out. Since then, I've been unable to get anyone from tech support to answer the phone, and I've had to go through the lengthy automated troubleshooting system once more at my own expense. I've spent about $25 on phone calls (one time I was on hold for an hour). If you buy this scanner and need help in any way, GOOD LUCK. Due to a lack of technology, I will have to discard a scanner that has only been used a few times. assistance with the software It gave me a sense of powerlessness.
It installs quickly and is simple to use under Windows 2000. I plug it in when I need it, it immediately recognizes it, and I'm ready to scan. Photos, receipts, and paperwork - This performs admirably in all areas.
More than anything else, line for home is used for its copy function. I followed the installation instructions, first installing the software and then scanning the scanner as directed. My only complaints are with the documentation that comes with the software; everything has worked perfectly as advertised from the beginning. I prefer paper manuals that can be read at your leisure and kept open while using and learning a product. br>System: Compaq 5WV280 Athlon 900 MHz processor. br>256 rambr>Win MEbr>Lexmark Z53br>Visioneer 8100br>Logitek Quick Cambr>Polaroid PDC640br>Networked with: br>Polaroid PDC640br> br>Compaq Presario 4716br>200Mhz Pentiumbr>80 meg rambr>20 gig Maxtorbr>Compaq Presario 4716br>.
