Questions & Answers

Is a lens hood included in the package?

I just got mine last week, and it didn't come with anything useful. I emailed the seller, Southtown Camera, this morning because the Fujifilm website indicated that this lens came with a hood. I'm still waiting for a response from them.

With the X-ray, is it possible to concentrate quickly on this?

I'm responding in the spring of 2019, and this lens was a bit slow when I bought it. Both the X- and the Y-chromosomes have been updated since a number of updates. This lens, as well as the T1, focuses much more quickly. When software fixes a problem, Fuji releases updates rather than announcing a new body or lens as a fix, as does much of Fuji's competition. As a result, Fuji is slowly but steadily gaining a devoted following and producing some of the best photographic equipment on the market. In my case, if I had purchased brand "Y" or "Z," I would have been forced to purchase upgraded hardware rather than download free updates to fix similar issues. Both the body and the lens now produce results that I thought were impossible when they were first purchased.

Is this a newer XF R model with Super EBC lens coating manufactured by 16240755 or an older model?

Brown is absolutely right-- As of January 1, 2013, there is only one version.

Is this a lens that can be used in all weather conditions? sealed?

The F2 on the 35mm 0 is a more recent lens that is weatherproof.

Everything you've said is correct
5/5

For a couple of years, I resisted the urge to purchase this lens. I didn't need it because I already own the excellent 35mm f/2 "Fujicron," but I keep seeing this lens praised on numerous websites and YouTube channels in 2020, with fantastic images. I kept insisting that my f/2 version was fine, and it most likely is if you only use measurements that can be read on charts and graphs. Although it's impossible to quantify "look" or "magic," these qualities are frequently mentioned in discussions about Fujifilm gear on websites. br>br>I got my lens, put a new card in my XPro2, and set a goal for myself: 1000 images with this lens alone. There were no test charts or brick walls involved; instead, I took actual photographs with this focal length. My initial apprehension was quickly dispelled when my lens quickly focused on whatever I pointed it at in my dimly lit living room. This was with my XPro2, so the "slow to focus" issue that was frequently mentioned with Fujifilm's first generation bodies did not apply to me. Cameras released after the XPro2 are likely to be even better. So, can I see the advantage of using this f/1? 4 lenses with an f/2 aperture? Yes, I'd say. Again, it's impossible to quantify, but it simply produces stunning images. I shoot with cameras that have a mechanical and electronic shutter (the shutter becomes electronic after 1/8000th), which allows me to shoot at f/1. 4 in broad daylight, which can produce images that no cellphone shooter can match because they believe their phone is all they need. br>br>I'll keep the Fujicron for those occasions when I need weather resistance or know I'll be shooting in the middle of the aperture ring. However, I'm glad I went ahead and bought it. I've taken over 1000 photos and have no intention of switching lenses anytime soon.

The Eye of the Beholder! At 1
5/5

, this magical lens is insanely sharp. It has a distinct personality and image rendering that is difficult to explain or describe; when I first saw the images it produced, I had an OMG moment. In terms of the common complaint of "slow focus," I don't find that to be the case in my copy, which has the most recent firmware updates on both the lens and the camera. It's as quick as my other four Fuji lenses and nearly as quick as my Canon 85mm F1. In terms of the noisy AF, those who can hear it must have the hearing of a Labrador Retriever. The 35/1 is the lens I'd choose if I had to choose only one. That would be number four. This is the lens that established Fuji as a serious contender.

Image quality that stands out
5/5

This lens was purchased to complement my Fujifilm XT-100 camera. I'm on number two now, and I'm having a blast! Because other reviews have praised the excellent build quality (which it is), I'll concentrate on the image quality. The images produced by this lens are exceptional. The F1. The bokeh on the 4 is stunning, and the images are razor sharp even wide open. It's a perfect match for the XT-100's electronic shutter speed of 1/32,000. Since F1, there have been two. 4 The lens allows a great deal of light to pass through. In the past, I've had to stop down my lenses in bright sunlight, but with the XT-100, I can shoot wide open at noon if I want. As other reviews have pointed out, the AF is a little slow, but it's plenty fast for my needs. I was torn between buying this lens and buying the F2. I'm glad I went with the F1 instead of the 0. 4 for everything that comes with a larger aperture (better low-light performance, bokeh, and so on). It's a fantastic addition to the 18-piece set. 55mm F2. ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS ZEISS Negative feedback was addressed in the following ways: br>br> AF Noise - AF Noise - AF Noise - AF Noise - AF Noise - The AF noise isn't as bad as you might think. I expected it to be noisy, inaccurate, and just plain bad based on some of the reviews, but that was not the case. I can hear it, but it turns on quickly, and the noise it makes (a faint clicking while it turns on) is barely audible. Now, if I were photographing a wedding in a church and required complete silence, this might be an issue, but that isn't the case for me. Let's face it, this is a fantastic lens! Stop giving one star to products because they aren not 100% perfect (what product is? This almost convinced me not to buy the lens, but I'm glad I trusted my instincts and bought it anyway. AF Hunting - AF Hunting - AF Hunting - AF Hunting - AF Hunting - AF Hunting Although the autofocus hunts a little (especially in low light), it's still fine for everyday photography. I can even get it to lock onto stars in the sky at night! I don't own the F2 lens, so I can't make a direct comparison, but I can't say I'm too bothered by the hunting. That said, I don't do a lot of action photography, so this could be an issue for sports and the like. I can't say for sure. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> If you're on the fence about whether or not to buy this lens for everyday photography, don't be. Fujinon's meticulous attention to detail in all of their products, on the other hand, will leave you speechless. This lens is deserving of every single one of the five stars I gave it.

It's exactly what it says
5/5

So, in addition to the kit 18-55mm Fuji prime, this is my fourth Fuji prime. 55 I also have a 60mm macro lens, a 27mm light walkabout lens, and a 56mm portrait lens. I adore the 56mm and was concerned that this lens would fall short. Fortunately, it performs just as well as that lens. It's also a lot more versatile, thanks to its longer focal length, which makes it suitable for a variety of situations. I use an X-ray camera. E2 with the handgrip, which is very well balanced on that body. If I had to choose just one Fuji prime, I'd probably go with this one because of its IQ and versatility. If you're on the fence about purchasing it, go ahead and do so. You won't regret it.
