Questions & Answers

How do you think this 23mm/f2 compares to the 23mm/f1? The 1. appears to me to be the most important factor. 4 is a little bit more angular - Is this the reason for the higher price?

Both are present in my possession. The f1. The number four is a powerful number. The extra bokeh that the lens provides is exceptional. If you're taking portraits, it also has a slightly more natural look. This is to say that the image appears to have a little less contrast. In addition, the f2 is quite nice. It's a lot lighter and easier to transport. It all boils down to what you require. If image quality is more important to you than weight, go with the 1. But I have to be honest and say that I didn't use my camera as much as I would have liked because I was aware of how much larger and heavier the 1. was. 4 was.

Is it possible to use this lens in wet conditions?

It's a "WR" lens, which means it's weather-resistant to a degree. tenacious Please keep in mind that only a few Fuji cameras, such as the X-T1 and X-T2, are compatible with this feature. T1 and X- T2 is also resistant to the effects of the elements. tenacious Camera on the Fireside

Will any screw-on 43mm nd filter work with the lens if the filter size is 43mm? Basically, can you point me in the direction of a ND filter for this lens?

Yes, any 43mm ND filter will work with this lens if screwed onto the front. Amazon has a number of them listed. B W filters are top-notch.

Has anyone experimented with the XF23 f2 and f1 modes? 4 and why did you choose one over the others? I like the f2's small size, but are there any situations where the 1. Isn't 4 a lot better?

I really like the 23mm f2 lens because it's small and compact, and it's ideal for street photography. I don't see much of a difference (except for the price difference) between it and the 1. Because the 4 lens is so much heavier, I strongly advise you to go with the 23mm.

If you already have the 18-inch, it's of no use
4/5

Kit lens of 55mm focal length. This item was returned to me. Of course, it's a great lens, so I can't give it anything less than a four-star rating. br>br>However, I chose the 27mm pancake lens in the end. This 23mm lens was still a bit too big for me. It can withstand the elements, but so can my 18-year-old. Kit lens of 55mm focal length. In a side-by-side comparison, When compared to the 18mm, the 27mm is two-thirds the size. Also included is a 55mm kit lens. Overall, the value of this lens is negligible when compared to the kit lens- Because it's a prime, it's much more limited, and it's only 1/3 the size of a standard. br>br>The 27mm pancake lens is a true workhorse. The advantages are 1/3 the size (or less) of the 18-month benefits. It's a 55mm lens, and it's a lot lighter. It is not resistant to the elements. However, it is not a problem for me. I'll just use the kit lens if I need to be weatherproof. br>br>Final verdict: do not purchase this lens in conjunction with the kit lens.

If you need it, this is a fantastic lens to have
5/5

I returned this lens because I didn't think it was right for me or that I needed it (more on that later). However, I believe that items should be judged on their own merits. It's a high-quality standalone fixed 23mm (35mm equiv) lens. The focusing is the fastest I've ever seen on a Fuji lens, and it's even faster than the 35mm f2. The build quality is on par with the 35mm f2 lens. It's very light and pleasant to wear. It'll undoubtedly be a photographer's paradise. However, it's possible that this isn't the right lens for you. Do you already have the 18-inch version? Kit lens with a focal length of 55mm? If that's the case, I don't think you'll find this lens provides you with anything you don't already have; yes, f2 is nice, but I shot some similar shots with both this and the 23mm, and the results were nearly identical at distances that would produce bokeh on either. Even on my X-T1 camera, I don't think the kit lens is that big. I didn't think it was any smaller than E2S. I also dislike how it looks with the lens hood, whereas the hood on the 35mm f2 is one of my favorites. I've also recently realized that I'd prefer to shoot at 50mm and be satisfied with just that lens and the 18-55mm. For the other focal lengths, use 55. That appears to be an excellent combination, and my wallet appreciates my restraint!.

It's possible that this is the only Fuji lens you'll ever need
5/5

This is a lens that I absolutely adore. To put it another way, I paid a lot of money for my X-ray equipment. T2, as well as the 23rd and 24th positions, F2 lenses for 35mm. During the six-month period, I haven't taken my 23 off the camera in the ish months I've had this set up. It has an effective focal length of about 35mm, which is ideal. Why do you think 35mm lenses were included in so many film cameras? br>br>It's razor-sharp, quick, well-built, and light. It's definitely a game. For me, the situation has to change. I'm from the APS, and I'm looking for a job. In the DSLR world, C! br>br>To give you an idea, I've included a couple of photos I took with this lens while wandering around Los Angeles.

A photographer's dream for both street and landscape photography
5/5

OVERALL: 5 out of 5 stars This lens, like the rest of Fujinon's weather-sealed f/2 lenses, is an excellent addition to any Fuji photographer's kit. This nimble little lens, like the 35/2, can fit in the chest pocket of a jacket, making it an excellent travel or street photographer's lens. Landscape photographers will be drawn to it for its weather sealing, which will come in handy on those rainy hikes. BR>BR>CONSTRUCTION: BR>BR>CONSTRUCTION: BR>CONSTRUCTION: CONSTRUCTION: CONSTR 5 out of 5 stars This Fujinon lens, like all Fujinon lenses, has a solid metal exterior that any photographer will appreciate. In a world where everything is made of plastic, it has a premium feel to it. The focus ring has a tactical-feeling finger grip that is slightly thicker than the 35/2's and buttery smooth. The tension in the aperture ring is just right. It's not a lot, but it's enough to keep it from moving. IMAGE QUALITY:BR>BR>IMAGE QUALITY:BR>IMAGE QUALITY:IMAGE QUALITY:IMAGE QUALITY: 4 out of 5 stars On Fuji's APS-C sensor, The focal length of 23mm on C size sensors is equivalent to 28mm on full frame sensors. The image quality is excellent in the middle of the aperture range and fair wide open. Focusing up close and wide open, as with the 35/2, produces a softer image, which is typical of any lens wide open. This isn't noticeable unless you're pixel peeping, and it can usually be fixed in post by adding a little contrast. Bokeh is present with close focus, but it isn't extreme. Because of the short focal length, the bokeh balls are smaller, but this isn't a deal-breaker. Longer focal lengths are recommended if you like bokeh. BEST APPLICATIONS: br>br> Its features, in my opinion, lend themselves best to street photography, but it is also an excellent choice for landscape and travel photographers. Its small, unobtrusive size, as well as its lightning-quick and wicked-quiet autofocus, will appeal to street and travel photographers. Landscape photographers will appreciate the light weight and small size, which takes up little space in a camera bag, as well as the weather sealing for rainy days. br>br>THE END RESULTS: Yes, I strongly advise any Fuji photographer who shoots street, landscapes, or travels to purchase this lens. It has pretty much everything you'd want in a camera lens for a low price, and Fujifilm even throws in a lens hood and a soft pouch, which I appreciate. Most manufacturers do not include these items and require you to purchase them separately, so having it included is a nice bonus. Fuji, I appreciate it.

I really like how fast the auto focus works
4/5

This is a lens that I love and despise. I really like how fast the auto focus works. This is most likely the quickest auto focusing lens I've ever used. It can track my 6-year-old doing flips and handstands without issue, but the sharpness is an issue for me. Anything less than 2 feet in length isn't that sharp. I've tried a variety of settings on my xt2, but I still don't get the sharpness I'm used to from Fuji lenses. According to what I've read, the lens is wider than the 23 f1 lens. I was initially disappointed, but after shooting with it for a while and learning how to use it, I'm starting to warm up to it.
