Questions & Answers

Do you own this lens and the 85mm f/1 EF lens. How long does 2L II take? Would you mind telling me what you can It's hard for me to decide between the two but I lean towards the latter. ?

I like the Canon 85 L II a lot, but it is too sluggish and has a fair bit of purple and green fringe. I love the colors and the feeling of nailing a shot with them. There is a sharp change in Sigma The system runs faster than 4 and is more efficient.

When Amazon states that the product has not been released, how is there a total of 10 reviews?

This is a fair review as my experience has been with this lens for about a month. There are reviews on Amazon for this item. Furthermore, I have included comparison shots of the Nikon 85mm 1 versus the Sigma 85mm Cheaper by $600 than the 4D (old Nikon). Why would I buy a huge, heavy and expensive lens if I don't see a big difference. The lens I will be comparing is the Nikon 85mm lens for a Nikon D7200. Canon is not so clear to me. Despite my love for the lens build quality and the excellent feel of the focus ring on the lens, I am not satisfied with the following issues 1 *br> A severe front focus issue was encountered. Even with a +18 - angle, the lens still had blurred corners. There are certain cases in which AF is extended by 20. To adjust the sharpness, I used the Sigma dock, but I have lost confidence in the Sigma quality assurance process somewhere along the line. 3. *br> Several days after I began using the lens, I started experiencing the front focus issue It was frustrating to recalibrate the lens because the whole process was so lengthy. This Sigma lens required hours of effort to fix the AF which should have been done by the manufacturer for such a high-priced This time, I lost my confidence in the AF because it keeps displaying Three key points. In its own right, the lens is It isn't really possible to compare the Nikon 85mm with the Canon 17mm. wasn't a problem for me to carry it around, it was a problem for my wife. Within a few days, it got tiresome to carry it around, so I decided to switch back to my Nikon 85mm for portability purposes. 4 *br> 86mm is the diameter of the glass ring. It would be necessary to buy new lenses filters if you wanted to protect your lenses. As I tested the shooting results of this Sigma and compared it to my Nikon OLD 85mm 1, I was very impressed with the results. In this photo)), the Bokeh and the color contrast are exquisite. As a result, compared with the OLD Nikon, the pictures were not much different from the present one. There will be a return of this sigma glass. My 85mm Nikkor 1 will stay at the top of my list. The current render mode is 4D. Nikon's 85mm 1 lens is one of its best-known items. A 4D camera is far less expensive than this Sigma camera. If you'd like to have a look at this particular SIGMA glass, I would recommend you to do so in a local store first. The points I listed above should be taken into consideration.

What is the origin of this lens? Do you know if it's a US model ?

The Sigma product would come with the manufacturer's warranty since Digital Goja is an official Sigma retailer. Other sellers on Amazon are selling grey market lenses for this lens that are not covered by the manufacturer and are only covered

Is sigma covered by one of its standard warranties if abe's electronics center is the seller?

There is no such thing. There is grey market merchandise for sale at Abe's. We do not provide warranty services in the USA

Selected User Reviews For Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF (321954)

The new 85L replaces my old Since I had been using the 85L for a long time, I was reluctant to give up the 1/4 stop of light and phenomenal It was getting harder for me to cope with the 85L shortcomings
5/5

It has an awful amount of chromatic aberration wide open, and the focusing speed is subpar. As a portrait photographer with young kids (who just can't sit still for very long), I used the 70-200LR while the 85L sat in my bag A 200 F2 is a good choice. owned and loved the 35 ART for many years, I was very excited to try the First of all, there were no disappointments in my first shoot. It was amazing to be able to shoot wide open with the Canon 5D MKIII, and the focus was dead on. Wide open shots looked excellent with minimal chromatic aberration. The shutter speed was fast, and the focus was quick. I saw a similar contrast signature when I looked at my 35 Art- . What a stunning sight. As for me, I'm not a pixel peeper, just someone who wants their equipment to work. The 85 ART did the job just fine. My decision to purchase the 85L was not clear until I read all the reviews after I purchased it. I no longer own it and will not miss it.

This is the best $1200 cat lens I have ever used! (The humor is mixed with the seriousness)
5/5

Besides that, here are a few things to note There is a T-Stop on this lens The STOP of 1 has been reached. If you are a cinematographer or photographer, just scroll down to 7 (if you It looks pretty good that the light has made it out the back. I'd rate it as being about half a stop underexposed, but it's not so bad by any means. When I first learned it was a cat lens, I thought it's crazy, I wouldn't spend $1200 on it for just a few pictures. However, when I got the lens I was amazed with its quality. It is by far the best lens for taking photos of cats I've ever seen. The only issue I have with it is that I wish it had some weatherproofing or drool resistant features at the very least!

I started taking pictures of my cat and was instantly There was never a time when my cat This lens - despite its pedigree - produces impressive images. On my D500, it has been no problem at all. I had to dial in the focus on the lens about 10 times (I somehow managed to keep the focus in between Within 15 minutes), it was razor sharp. (You may use it with the Sigma USB Dock. I know that this is not included, but just for your knowledge. ) This is a great example of fast and precise focusing. The bokeh is smooth and glorious. In my experience, these lenses don't weigh that much (although I'm used to handling I love the good build quality of this camera, as well as the large focusing ring for taking In addition to the lens hood, the case that comes with the lens is pretty decent too. There is only one thing I dislike about the lens, and that is the cap, but other than that, I have no complaints. I just dislike how you have to This lens is a great lens, and if I had to pick between buying this lens and something else, I'd choose this one When compared to my 150-foot jump, I would say I haven't done that much in the way of coordination The Sigma 600 Sport lens is designed for sports and action photography. There is definitely a need for me to take much better care of this lens. It seems like this is a lens that's exclusively suited for use in the studio, or just to be taken out when the weather is nice. Sigma has stated that this lens (Among many other ART lenses) should never be used outdoors during harsh weather conditions, and it should not be used for an extended period of time outside in the rain. If you intend on using it outdoors, use it protected from severe Unless the lens is made to handle it, you might not be able to use Originally posted on June 2, 2017 After using this lens for the past few months, I must say that I'm still in love with it and that it's a really good value for what you receive. In this blog post, I'd like to take a few minutes to point out some issues that have been brought up. The first thing to note is that this is still a relatively inexpensive Although it's not $100 or $500, it's still a significant sum. There is no need to refer to this as Purchasing this lens will not cost you more than $5,000. Many people in their 70s - 80s In the year 200, 2 was. They are around $2000 for Nikon 8's and Canon 8's that need to be calibrated. As well as not being perfect, they are human. It's inevitable that some of these lenses will not be perfect, that's just how manufacturing works. There is nowhere near the time, funds, or resources required to ensure that each and every one of these lenses goes out in the perfect condition. However, the body they are going to use and test might be entirely different from what you are using, meaning that it might not make any It is really one of the most useful things to use Sigma Optimization Pro software and I would say it is almost required if you own You'll need the Sigma USB dock (I got mine free with I believe that it costs $60) Sigma makes it so you can turn the focus to your preference very easily. I have attached a picture of my lens, as well as what adjustments I make (Obviously, these are only for the photographs in this article). It is VERY easy to fix back and front focusing, a simple 10 - 15 minute amount of time is all it takes. There is only enough time for 15 minutes. Although in some cases, the lenses WON'T be able to be fixed, there are cases of lenses that ARE too far gone. You can go the WHOLE range between - and I added 20 and 20 and it didn't help. When this occurs, I would return the lens to the manufacturer. In reality, some people reporting that they sent back multiple lenses is not a problem with the lens, it is a problem with the person they are dealing with and their inability to figure out how to fix the issue themselves. The majority of consumers probably expect their lenses to be flawless right out of the box, but that's not how most work (at least, not under $3000). If you're having trouble with this lens and you're not fine-tuning the focus (assuming you have the body that is capable of that, if not, maybe you shouldn't use ) There isn't a lens issue This is a problem with you. One other thing I want to point out is that this lens (and it should go without saying anyway) does not have any sort of VR or IS of what so ever. I know people who bought this lens and for some reason were misled into believing it had some form I do not think it does. Shoot with slow shutter speeds and use VR/IS to get sharp photos when you tend to use slow shutter speeds. It is a false alarm, because such an app does not exist, so you will only be able to see blurry images. It is also worth noting that this is quite similar to other Sigma lenses, which means that it tends It's just the way they are in general, so you need to be aware of it. This topic is discussed in a number of video reviews and articles online. The lens will still tend to hunt more than first party lenses even in ideal lighting conditions.

Despite all these tests, the lens has performed admirably in every one of them without a hitch - I use it regularly, and it is without a doubt more superior to my Canon 85mm in every way
5/5

Having worked as a photographer for over ten years, I can enthusiastically endorse it - In just one year, this product has already paid for itself multiple This lens can be the true workhorse of your kit if you need it to be. I use it mainly for street style and portraiture, but it's also great for landscapes. My job often requires me to spend time outside in all kinds of weather so I often have to work in snow, rain, and whatever else. This lens has performed seamlessly in all those conditions- Furthermore, the autofocus speed is outstanding in comparison with the Canon 85mm, and it is definitely superior in every aspect. Besides its weight, the only con to this lens I can think of is its size. Apart from that, this is a high quality glass piece in every respect.

The calibration really needs to be done
3/5

I've tried what's in front of me and what's in back of me. As I own the 35mm 1 lens, I was hoping to fall in love with this lens too. The lens is one of the best in the industry and I can only recommend it. According to my thinking, the 85mm 1 would be the best choice. Art 4 would just be the same thing, except it would be There is no need for me to lose The feeling of quality that weight gives me is one I associate with Despite being built beautifully, it has some serious flaws. It would be better if the autofocus was It had a tendency to miss constantly on my D800. In the camera, I tried fine tuning the AF, but I wasn't successful. Sigma needs to calibrate this lens, and that's the only thing that needs to be done. There is no expectation that I will get a clean copy if I keep doing this. A Sigma 70-millimeter camera would be ideal A 200mm telephoto lens. We have covered the focal range with the 8 Sport and the camera should not have any problems. It is estimated that 70-80 percent of Americans have diabetes In the event that the 200 has AF issues as bad as this (which is unlikely) I'll just go for Nikon lenses from here on out and pay the premium. It is Sigma's responsibility to supply docking hubs with every order if the lenses are known to have AF issues. In the case of the Nikon, I would have liked to play with it, but if I have to spend $60, I'll just continue saving and get a used copy of the Nikon.

I enjoy the focus and calibration of the device but wish the focus and calibration were Despite the docking system, calibrating this lens was a pain (even though I could calibrate by hand) and it's still off by a couple of inches
4/5

The focus must be calibrated or the camera will have an inaccurate reading. In AF mode, however, it has a focal point issue. Despite all that, I still find the lens to be an amazing one. Throughout the images, the background is blurred in a creamy manner. It's a heavy beast of a lens. I think it weighs more than my camera and its glass is enormous. Photographs come out high quality and feel that way too. The 85mm is pretty wide, but you have to stand very far away to take good pictures with it. Next I would like.
