I thought I would have no worries about it because I wanted to test it out before I ordered the same one. I received a refurbished certified lens that does not have the same quality or compatibility as the original one. Photo 1 and 2 show 1 and 2 respectively. In the viewfinder and in the photos, the vignette appears extreme when the lens is zoomed out to its maximum (18mm), just as a fisheye lens would, or as if the user had 24mm is the point at which the fisheye circle disappears. In the past, I had never used a VR lens so I did not know what I was going to get out of it. I recently bought a used D3300 body so I could It was quite economical to get one of these "kit" lenses after I saw how economically priced they were. Because it's so useful, I've been re-evaluating my D700 lenses and am considering upgrading some to VR models! Honestly, Nikon's other lenses are much more expensive than this lens but this one is so sharp that makes me think they I really appreciate the smaller size and way lower weight of the D3300 and this lens for hiking! For quick grab shooting, I would very likely neglect the D700 most of the time!.

Despite the fact that the lens had been refurbished, everything worked flawlessly. I have been shooting with it since it was new and responsive both for autofocus and manual shots.
It was a good price, but the lens does not auto focus as it should. It is possible to manually focus the lens, but I wanted auto focus and then it is an auto focus lens, thus I thought that this was an unnecessary purchase. There is no benefit to using it for the purpose it was intended.
